Speaking of Toph, I just read The Promise. She was pretty awesome in it, but only because Iroh was a side character through the whole thing. He's literally in like, 3 panels.

It was pretty good though, decent continuation of the series, though the details about Zuko's mother were left ambiguous. Everything else was just about striking a balance between peace, equal rights, comedy, and fan service. Lots of fan service.

Oh, and Aang's promise to kill Zuko if he turns into his father, theres also that.

Someone put a lot of effort into Toph's face in that. There isn't a single shot of her where she doesn't have some amazing expression on.

Also, I forgot to mention Mr. Boomerang. Hey, you think Sokka will ever get back his space sword?

What is it with the Korra show? Might have to watch it...
Hope it doesn't turn out like Naruto (yuck)

Okay, The Legend of Korra, not needed but good. And personally, I think Naruto is good. So there's that.

What else do you like/don't like?

And I've never read any of the Avatar comics because I don't really care for them.

100% American made. Not Anime in the slightest.

I think Anime has more to do with the art style and other factors than the place where its was made.

To understand Yugioh, you need to see that playning Duel Monters is like a sport in that world, one that anyone, from kids to adults, can play.Once you get past that, you can enjoy this great series.Gets even cooler when you understand and play the card game.

So, Im watching the Wolverine anime.

I just finished the first episode and I liked it. My only real problem is where does this take place in the -If any- timeline?

I need to know before continuing, is this an origin story in another country? Or do I need some prior knowledge before continuing to watch?

Also, both this anime and the upcoming Wolverine movie take source material from the same place, just a fun fact.

The Wolverine Anime takes place in its own timeline. You can watch it just fine. But if helps,I think all of Marvel's Anime take in place in the same timline.
One example it that Wolverine appears in one of the episodes of the Iron Man anime, with the same character model, theme song and voice actor from his series. In X-men anime,i am not sure, but i think his voive actor is the same from his series also. And Iron Man makes a cameo towards the end of the X-men anime.
I the Iron Man is inspired by the movies, not necessarily being in the same timeline.

BeastProwl wrote:And the fact that your only reading into part of my comments is equally confusing.
I'm not saying I DONT want more Korra. I'm just saying more Korra doesn't make much sense. Two different things.

I'm all for another season, I just dont see were it could go. Besides getting into ancient history and spiritworld stuff, which is always fun, there isnt much for Korra to learn. Maybe she can refine each skill individually? Travel the world, learn from the masters?

Or the series could introduce a new type of forbidden bending, who knows?

A radical fire nation group rises up to repeat ancient history and reclaim it's people's spot as rulers of the world?

A million and one possibilities. I'm not against it. I just dont see anything being a threat to Korra if she already knows everything.

I also though unusal that Korra started the series alreay bending 3 elements, then i thought:If the series was about learning each of the elements, that would made too similar to the Legend of Aang.

Nope. Anime is Japanese made.

Let me put it like this: I don't want to understand Yu-Gi-Oh. The Abridged series is as far as I'm going.

Speaking of, a friend of mine is a total d-bad and tricked me into getting addicted to DBZ Abridged. So I watched all of that.

Here you go. Enjoy.

For the record, they had the Saiyan Saga cut down to eleven episodes, and the Namek Saga cut down to about nineteen. They did the Garlic Jr. Saga in one episode. And none of the episodes surpass 20 minutes. More amazingly, they manage to compress everything down without losing anything particularly important. Also it's hilarious.

That series needed it. Badly.

I remember going on holiday for two weeks in the summer, getting baack home, and there was maybe one advancement in the plot. And Goku still had to land wherever it was that he had to land.

I just watched episode 1 of that DBZ Abridged. It was pretty funny. "I felt a power level bigger than Krillins losing streak." I laughed pretty hard.

Abridged is a fan made version of a show, mostly anime, that includes cussing and other stuff. For example, DBS abridged or evabridged.

He means, what, in a series that thins its plot out like DBZ, could have been cut down.

Kai seems to be doing a decent job of it. I haven't been watching it, but they managed to get through the Saiyan, Namek, and Cell sagas in 98 episodes, about half the episode number of the original.

I told you you would like it. Also, see Digimon Abridged and Hellsing Abridged for equal levels of humor. And for God's sake, check out WeeklyTubeShow.

I didn't like Kai. I liked how it looked and stuff, but the voice acting was strange to me. Gohan's voice in particular.

I like the whole original uncut series (Save for the Garlic Jr. Saga) and nothing will change that. Unless the redo it from the ground up, but they tried that with GT, and while GT had it's ups, it had way more downs. Its still worth watching just for Super 17 and Baby Vegeta, not to mention SSJ4 Gogeta and Omega Shenron.

On that note, favorite villain, and why.

The only anime I'm watching right now is Arata Kangatari. Now I'm not going to lie, I began watching it for the cross-dressing element in the first episode (pretty convincing chick if you ask me :-B ) but I found something far more enjoyable than I could've imagined. Even if the them is constantly hitting you in the face. I enjoy waiting week after week for it.

I found a DBZ stop-motion fight scene that is really good. Don't worry, they don't take like 6 episodes to power up. And it's in 2 parts so far.

Recently I've finished:

OreImo - the first season and the OVAs were good, as it comes across more of siblings trying to repair their relationship. The second season gets a little creepy. Still looking forward to the last three webisodes.

Sword Art Online - Should have ended at episode 14. Episodes 15 - 25 were just... unnecessary.

Currently watching:

Spice & Wolf (halfway through first season), House of Five Leaves (8/12 eps), and just started A Certain Scientific Railgun.

I've watched Sword Art Online also on crunchyroll. It was alright. I just finished Soul Eater on Netflix. It was good. Like really good.

I also have been downloading manga on my iPod. I'm about to start Deadman Wonderland right now. I'll let you know how it goes

I have committed a sin: I watched the first two episodes of Machine Robo: Revenge of Cronos. Well, not necessarily because it was a competitor of Transformers, but... the animation is rushed big time.

You all remember the fun of looking at animation errors of Transformer cartoons, especially multiple character models? I've spotted multiple instances already and I'm not even trying  Especially Devil Satan 6 (known as Monsterous in the US) is guilty of that, having a purely robotic one and a more organic one, complete with a fleshy monster head during the (first) combination stock footage.
So yeah, the plot? Simple, to the point, yet a bit... I don't know, basic? I'll have to watch a few more episode and hope for the best. Certainly can't get any worse. :)

Dance in the Vampire Bund is interesting, to say the least.

Chrome Shelled Regios so far is... awkward and weird. But not in a bad way. Yet.
