That was in the last Hulk movie. He defended General Ross against the Abomination rather than, you know, killing him outright. Though that may have only been because Ross was on the same helicopter as Betty, Hulk still has a way of knowing who's on his team and who isn't.

Overcracker wrote:Oh and since when can Banner bring about the transformation at will?

Again, the last movie. Bruce was shown meditating, then grinning as his eyes began to glow green, and the "Days since last transformation" dropped to zero.

Fine he can control it now, so then why was he rampaging around the hellicarrier earlier punching everyone. Seems that either he can or he can't. But they can't have it both ways.

I already explained that.

Shadowman wrote:Hulk can tell friend from foe, and if used right can also be aimed like a weapon. (Bruce admitted as much near the end of the last movie) That said, unless you've got a problem that needs a Hulk-sized ass kicking, it's best not to force the transformation.

Unless Bruce can trigger the transformation with a specific goal in mind (Stop Abomination, kill aliens, etc.) then it's going to just be regular old Hulk.

It's the Hulk, the personification of rage and chaos. Yes they can have it both ways.

No they can't. If he's the personification of Rage and chaos that implies there's no control, he's chaos. Once he's in control he's no longer rage and chaos he's channeled.

Having it both ways is just a plot convenience. We write him one way now, and 30 minutes later we write him a different way so he fits in with the story we need to tell with absolutely no explanation for it. 5 or 10 more minutes of exposition could have solved this even if you still wanted to include the rampaging Hulk for a brief moment.

Its the fact they just went form rampaging brute to cooperative strong guy in a mere scene change.

If you wanted to take the fact that he's in control now and can be channeled then that's fine, but then he's no longer a threat as they portrayed. Yes I'm sure Banner can still loose control eventually, but we saw no reason for this at all.

Now this is my opinion of it, I didn't like it.

It's explained clearly!

When Banner rolls up on the bike, they ask him if he can change, at which point he reveals his "secret" to keeping the Hulk restrained is that he's "always angry".

On the Helicarrier, he was pushed too far by everything that was unfolding, Banner saw himself being betrayed, it pissed him off, he Hulked out and went on a rampage.

Once he regained control and saw what was happening, he realised he had to work with them.

It is also explained in the movie that Hulk saves Banner's life and reacts to threats to Banner's life. In the Hellicarier Banner was the victim of an attack, an explosion I believe, Hulk reacted to that and saw every body as a threat to Banner.

Later Banner just changes himself into the Hulk pointing him towards his enemies.

it's also pretty clear (and explained in an exposition-dump too) that Loki is influencing the team. Banner even picks up the sceptre thing when everyone is arguing in that lab. that, combined with the explosion and fall, and likely the damage sustained by that, was enough to push him into becoming the Hulk.

Why can't people just enjoy a movie for what it's worth instead of trying to pick it apart. So, some of the "true fans" of the comic will have a problem..........but why? By now, including me being a fan of the Bat (yes I read many comics and trades of him over the years)should realize that the movies are not going to be an exact extraction from the comics, plus the fact that just about every character on there (super-powered, that is) never could exist in the real world. That obviously means to me that the boundaries can be pushed or simply ran over.

I think Ruffalo did a good job, myself. As far as arguing the facts of a "hole in the plot" over Banner and controlling "the other guy" is truly irrelevant due to the fact that in real life that a guy turning into a ten foot road block of a green monster and back could not happen. Just call it "movie magic" as Kevin Smith says, get over it, and enjoy the movie..... =;

Now all in all, this movie was great. It had great action, a lot of laughs, and was kid friendly enough where parents could feel at ease to take their kids to see it without worrying about language, drug use, or over the top bloody violence. As for The Dark Knight Rises......well that's going to be a different story. It's gonna be dark and violent. I soooooooooooo can't wait to see it. So don't start yelling that the Avengers is going to be the biggest just yet............. Bane's fixing to fuk some sh@t up!!!!!!

I don't know where this is coming from. Was a conversation deleted recently? No one's complaining about changes from the comic (Of which there are numerous examples!) but that he didn't think a scene was explained and viewed it as a plot hole.

Oh, and a bit of advice? You can't tell people to just enjoy a movie, it doesn't work that way. Also a lack of overall realism doesn't excuse plot holes. This movie doesn't have that, but still, keep that in mind.

Dark Knight Rises has one huge obstacle: It needs to overcome The Dark Knight. It needs to be better than the last, and I seriously doubt it can live up to that. Plus, it's the third part of a trilogy, the number 3 is practically cursed; Spider-Man 3, X-Men 3, Mass Effect 3, Superman III, all of them were eaten alive despite having two great entries before them. I genuinely believe Dark Knight Rises will be amazing, but I also have to account for the possibility that it won't be as amazing as the last movie.

...the last movie being The Dark Knight, not the last movie I listed. Saying something isn't as great as Superman III is a very cruel thing to say.

I can't say I ever really enjoyed either of the other two Nolan-Batman movies, I only liked the second one because of Ledger's portrayal of The Joker.

I really don't think DKR will be much competition for The Avengers, so i'll be surprised if DKR does beat Avengers at the box office.

But considering Avengers just shattered last years opening record held by Deathly Hallows Part 2 ... DKR has a tough job ahead of it.

Oh and for the record, just as awesome second time round. 8)

Again I say people should just get over it and enjoy the movie for a change. Sorry to offend the "movie critics" around here..... >:oP
