Back in my day, which was really back in the day because i'm not some boohoo teenager ...

Back in my day we use to only have two tv stations. We also only had two tv's, only one was colour. Which worked out fine considering Dr Who wasn't in colour anyway.

Back in my day, we always had 40 cents on us in case we had to call our parents from a pay phone, because even if we did have a "mobile" phone, we didn't feel like pushing it around in a wheelbarrow.

back in my day we didn't have the Internet. If we wanted to know something, we had to go to the library and look it up ourselves, in the card catalog!!

There was no email. We had to write letters...with a pen! Then you had to walk down the street and put it in the mailbox, and it would take a week to get there! Stamps were 10 cents.

Child Protective Services didn't care if our parents beat us. As a matter of fact, the parents of all my friends also had permission to beat us if we got out of line.

Back in my day, transformers where neon, AND THAT THE WAY I LIKED IT.

Back in my day, fashion trends were dirty flannel, denim, and skipping a few showers, NOT guys in makeup.

Back in my day, cartoons where no less then 30,000 times more awesome then they are today.

Back in my day, we boght the whole damn tape, not picking nd choosing songs from iTunes (then again, music was of better quality. A whole tape was awesome rather then one or two good tracks padded with filler.)

Back in my day, Transformers was on every day! And so was GI Joe! And Robotech! And Jem! And My Little Pony! And there were cartoons all Saturday morning too!

Back in my day, This was the state of the art video game system.

Back in my day, we had realistic toy guns, and jarts, and all sorts of "dangerous" toys, and we liked it!

Back in my day saying you bought the latest Sonic game was said without sarcasm, and was not met with people attempting to stifle their laughter.

Back in my day, there were 151 Pokemon, and only a couple of them were any good.

Back in my day, a game like Doom was scary. Seriously, look at this. We were afraid of that.

Back in my day, English localization of Anime included heavy westernization and lowest-bidder voice acting.

Back in my day, if the glove didn't fit, you must acquit.

Back in my day, Power Rangers were the most amazing thing to ever grace TV. Seriously, sweet martial arts, giant robots, and the best theme song ever.

Back in my day, there was less Hayden Christensen in Star Wars. There was also less Natalie Portman, though, proving that nothing's perfect.

Wow...

Back in my day, commercials during TV shows lasted 60 to 90 seconds.

Back in my day, "reality TV" consisted of COPS and Jerry Springer.

Back in my day, stamps cost 22 cents.

Back in my day, the Chicago Bulls were the champs. Every year.

Back in my day, gasoline cost 84 cents per gallon.

Back in my day, a "social network" was the bar on the corner or a weekend family get-together.

Back in my day, TSA didn't shove the Hubble telescope up your ass when you got on an airplane.

Back in my day, when you heard "tweet" it was followed by "I thought I taw a puddy tat."

Back in my day, NASCAR was fun.

Back in my day Optimus Prime was dead AND IT WAS HORRIBLE. WHO THE HELL IS THAT ORANGE GUY AND WHERE THE HELL IS MEGATRON? WHAT THE HELL IS THAT HALF-ROBOTIC ASTRO-SLUG DOING TO THAT PINK TRANSFORMER AND WHAT IS THAT FLYING EGG DOING TO THE CORPSE OP OPTIMUS?

I remember watching season 3 and not knowing squat about any movie.

Back in my day kids like you were pumped full of drugs and then sent out into society.

Now we just allow them to hide behind the internet until they go postal.

DRUGS ARE GOOD MMMMKAY!

Back in my day you could follow a woman home quietly without her knowing and watch her in her house for days without getting a restraining order and being called a stalker.

Oh my gosh some of you are young. My son is older then some of you.

Well back in my day Atari was brand new. Somewhere I have a picture of the one I got for Christmas.

If the president was on there was no tv since he would be on every channel.

There was not even VCRs yet, and even when they came out it took a while before we could afford one.

Cassette tapes were the new way to listen to music.

I stayed out well past dark and my mom never worried about me. It was a small town and she blew a whistle and I knew it was time to go home.

We played outside all day and when we it was raining out we played board or card games.

I saw the 1st animated transformers movie in the theater, many times.

Back in my day, Transformers were made out of dicast and actually lasted longer than ten minutes....

We only had a black and white TV and if we wanted to change the channel we had to walk to the damn thing and push the button...

There were only two types of milk, blue and trim...

It wasn't just my friends' parents who'd beat me if I got out of line, but the teacher too!

I could walk through town and not get picked up by some paedophile...

We could get a lolly for one cent!

17 year olds didn't start "back in my day threads".... :p

Internet made a really loud noise when you connected, and you were considered "tech savvy" if your pages downloaded in under 6 minutes...

I could go to McD's without some hippy telling me I was a murderer...

And back in my day, and in my country, we only had McD's, Pizza Hutt and KFC, it was 30$ for a Pizza, which was damn expensive, and 40$ for a bucket of chicken, which was damn expensive.

Back in my day the field of plate tectonics didn't exist. What was taught was the notion of continental drift and it was still just a theory at first.

Most 'experts' thought that dinosaurs had been cold-blooded, slow, and stupid. The only places where they were depicted as smart and lively was in kids' imaginations and in comic books like Turok: Son Of Stone.

Chemosynthesis hadn't been discovered yet, ergo it was widely believed that life couldn't exist anywhere else in our solar system because ALL life ultimately needed sunlight in order to flourish...ALL of it.

Eastern coyotes did not yet exist. They evolved into a viable and unique subspecies all on their own within my lifetime.

I wrote up and input my very first computer programme using punch cards. I also used punch tapes at work to transmit certain data right up until the early 1980s.

Personal home computers and the world wide web did not yet exist. Cell phones didn't exist. On the other hand, people in school could still learn to touch-type, ie. type with all ten fingers on a full-size keyboard without needing to look at said keyboard. It's one 'archaic' skill I still find very useful...

I was also taught way back when that the Earth was still warming up and that the area about the Great Lakes was still rebounding after the last ice age, something many people nowadays seem to have forgotten about or are unaware of, either because of ignorance or...whatever.

Oh, and Transformers didn't exist yet either (GASP!). If I wanted to see giant 'robots' punch each other's lights out, I'd watch Ultraman over on the French channel.
