I like the concept, and can't wait to see how it pans out, though with RTD in charge, it'll probably involve some use of the "Reset Switch" concept he used in "Doctor Who".

New characters seem too steriotypical so far (agent that refuses to heal and solves things himself, female who is... there). The only one I liked was the doctor (the so-called expert who deals with the suicide bomber, not the surgeon). I hope we'll be seeing him again.

Gwen is still tough as nails and I was hoping for something better on her husband's character who was showing backbone is Season 3, but is now apparently an over-protective pussy.

It will be interesting to see how things progress, and I did like how Jack ID'd himself as Owen Harper that one time.

Merged SW's SilverHammer thread in with this (and had to unfortatenly edit the post).

Plus now that Miracle Day has ended and the remainder of the DW season is airing, might be time to resurrect the discussion!

Seriously, am I the only one who has a serious hate on for River Song? I mean, as much as I liked Silence in the Library/Forest of the Dead, she stuck out as too much of a Mary Sue to me. And it only got worse in Series Five, when she appeared to show up every other episode (yeah, I know it was only Time of Angels/Flesh and Stone and Pandorica Opens/Big Bang, but it sure felt like a lot more.)

This series, she's appeared in nearly half the episodes so far (and, based on the title of the last episode, we know she appears at least once more), not to mention her origin is literacy's biggest cliché...

Yeah. I don't like her.

Due to me being in camp and not having the last couple weekends of Doctor Who or Torchwood, I can't say how it'll end but I didn't like the Torchwood series all that much. It seemed to me like a series of "24" where you can tell by the middle they're trying to stretch things out needlessly.

I felt little sympathy for the trial of Gwen Cooper with her dad or whatever the female CIA agent's name was with her sister/family.

Oddly enough I liked the 2nd tier characters better. John DeLance is always amusing (only because I imagine him saying Mon Capitane after every line). And seeing Newman as a Lead CIA guy was ironically amusing.

When River first appeared, I liked her. We knew next to nothing about her.

Know that we know everything I never want to see her again ... or he bloody annoying mother who seems like a cross between Sarah Jane and Leela (acts tough and can look after herself, until she screams and needs rescuing)

No, being related to someone on the main cast and having supernatural abilities that make the rest of us point out how awesome she is is the biggest cliché.

No one's pissed at you. You weren't aware of the rules regarding requested pirated material (I assume you've now read up on the rules  ) so it was an honest mistake.

But going on about it ... well that's just going to get annoying. Now feel free to join the train.

Not sure how accurate this is but I've heard that Bill Bailey has been cast for this year's Christmas episode. If only it were going to be as the 12th....

hehe, if anyone watches Community, they had a Dr. Who moment in the season 3 premeie, but it was "Inspector Spacetime", and one of the characters, who was all down that Cougartown ended, exclaims "this is the best show I've ever seen in my life"

and someone already made a shirt of it on Redbubble AHHAHA

So I quite enjoyed this week's episode. Little to no Amy. And I think that just gave Matt Smith a chance to shine, to really be the Doctor.

I've now come to the conclusion that Matt Smith IS a good Doctor, he's just had a very crap companion in Amy that's dragged him down.

Bring on the season finale!

That was quite possibly the most predictable season finale to date.

However ... the acknowledgment of the death of Lethbridge-Stewart was nice, completely unexpected, but very fitting.

Which of course brings us to this week and the final few episodes of Sarah Jane. :-(

I enjoyed the last episode well enough.

I will say the second half of this season sure as hell saved it after the bore the first 6 episodes were.

They did wrap it up quite nicely all things considered and amazing considering how lackadaisical the season started as.

The Torchwood had its up and downs, but seemed like it could have been done in a 3-4 parter versus dragging it out 10 episodes. I have been a fan of Captain Jack since day one, but he sure seemed to be 100% homosexual in this last series versus his omnisexual self in prior seasons and on Who. I don't really think that needs to be the focus of a sci-fi show..............

I appreciate that Matt Smith had the almost impossible task of following on from the brilliance of David Tennant's Dr. However all things considered, Smith is a very poor Dr IMO. In fact, I think I would rather poke my eye out with a stick, than watch that Muppet ruin this wonderful British institution.
