Um...they haven't appeared since "The Pandorica Opens". The ones that showed up in "A Good Man Goes to War" and "Closing Time" were the regular Cybermen of the regular universe.

Mind you I said costume, however they've all use the same costume since 2006. "They resembled the Cybus Cybermen physically, but their chest logo featured a simple circle instead of the Cybus logo." Meaning, the costume designers, re used the costume, more or less, replacing the cybus logo with a blank slate and changing a few minor details.
After a couple of years of being very disappointed with Dr Who, I'm now hopeful of things picking up.
The promise of a new intro intrigued me with the theme supposedly more reminiscent of classic DW. I thought otherwise. BUT ... they threw The Doctor's face in which was a classic thing!
Also loving the look of the new Tardis. It's what I'm use to, gives it a more classic but updated look.
Jenna Louise Coleman ... well, we got our answer of how she's connected to the character she portrayed in her first appearance, they're one and the same. But how? Well that's going to be the big mystery for next year (Rani? Romana? Another Time Lord scattered across time?)
But Jenna herself ... absolutely love her! Hopefully it doesn't turn into another companion-falls-in-love-with-The-Doctor thing but she's certainly the cutest companion!
So Moffat, you've played your card, let's see if you can keep it up and redeem the last few years.

Haven't watched the special yet, but I have checked out its wiki entry in preparation, and...
Well, let's just say that when the title was announced, I had a feeling that it involved a classic Who monster. Turns out I was half right.

The soltaran was easily my favourite character.

They did something akin to Clara in the Fourth Doctor serial 'City of Death', where an alien was scattered through time. I wonder...

I did no such thing. I asked you to stop necrobumping long dead threads with pointless posts.

Easter, as you said.
This is a documentary on how Doctor Who got started. It will be broadcast in November to tie-in with the 50th Anniversary. A lot of fans are hoping and speculating that there will also be a story that ties in with he current series that sees all 11 Doctors come together. Just need to re-cast the first three (well, two and three now)

Necrobumping is bringing a thread that has moved past relevance (last post months ago, was 3 pages back, etc..), spamming is when you post to
1) pad your post count 2) sell your items like a spambot 3) post jibberish with no real relevance

And, as the episode has aired, I can now confirm that the Doctor's name is Not spoken aloud in the episode.
Also John Hurt as the Doctor. Someone explain that to me because my mind is blown.
I do like that the episode is "How many references can we cram into 45 minutes," though.
