I hope not for Valeyard, was never an important character from a rather terrible story line.

Missy will probably be The Master thus cementing the whole "Time Lords can choose their gender when they regenerate" thing paving the way for a female Doctor.

While I hope it's not the master (how would he have returned this time? Last time was enough of a stretch) I did just think of something, in two of the cases the doctor helped the (for lack of a better word I'm going to say victims, but I'm talking about the clockworkman and the robots of Sherwood) victims find the promised land, though admittedly we only saw the clockwork man talk to missy, but I have a feeling. My question though is why they want to go to the promised land? Are they running away from something?

Maybe it's an Ashes to Ashes style purgatory for those who died in the presence of the Doctor.

My friend pointed out that the image of Clara looked like it was taken from the doctors viewpoint...I'm now favouring a new theory of her...she's the valeyard (from Trial of a Time Lord) or something similar, the dark manifestion of the darkness within the doctor. Probably wrong but it would be nice if they remembered the valeyard :)

It would make sense. And since all of the people we've seen in the Neithersphere have had a connection to the Doctor, whether he tried or failed to save them from dying.

Except for that cop in "The Caretaker."

Though I suppose one could say that the Doctor should've acted sooner and prevented the Skovox Blitzer from doing it in the first place.

That's assuming he knew about it in the first place.

I would want to go to a place called the promised land even if I wasn't running away from anything. Out of curiosity alone I would want to see it, it's called the promised land so it's probably a great spot to relax.

"Finding the Promised Land" is a pretty common goal in fiction.

Well, the Clockwork man was following his programming, which was to return home. Over time all that got corrupted as he was changing himself so much. To the point that all he knew was that he wanted to go someplace nice, which he then called the promised land, likely due to human culture influencing him.

At least that's what the episode stated.

Anyone else rather disappointed by this episode?

There was no real sense of danger, The Doctor felt wishy-washy, and overall nothing really happened. It's the first episode in a long while where everyone could've sat around and done mostly nothing and the situation would've fixed itself.

The finale preview is looking good though.

That's exactly what I thought. And the ending just felt...pointless. A resolution to something that was only mentioned off-hand and totally disregarded by every other character.

This one just topped "Kill the Moon" as the most disappointing episode of the season thus far.

Yeah, this last episode was kind of fun, but it lacked tension. I did like Clara's comment about putting the kids first, very funny line.

Yeah, this episode resolved itself, and I guessed the way it would end the moment the Doctor said there was a solar flare coming, which he said after they found out that the trees were fire proof.

So lets speculate about the coming ep.

So, we've had people complaining that Clara seemed a little less three dimensional this season than last time. Now we have preview clips of her stating that there are no records of her ever existing, remind anyone of something?
Yeah, that was the gimmick with the first batch of Claras, no record of their existance and all they did was die to save the Doctor.

So, maybe I'm just crazy, but, what if this Clara isn't "the real Clara", but just another fragment?

The real Clara never left the Doctor's "corpse", all the Doctor managed was to bring out the Clara Oswald that would sacrifice herself to save him come this season's finale? After all, the entire episode kept building up how if she jumped into the Doctor's time stream, she would be ripped apart and end up at point s in time all over his life span, and that that would be the end of her, she'd be trapped forever and would never be able to get out. Yet he managed to get her out.

And since there have been rumors of her leaving the show this season, wouldn't that be a pretty cool way of writing her out? She's been dead the whole time and we've spent out time watching just an echo of a person.

Then again, they could be pulling an Agents of SHIELD here and made the teaser purposely look a certain way, while the episode itself will be completely different.

Interesting idea, would certainly be a fool proof way to write her out. On another note children in need is around the corner, and I wish doctor who would do another comedy sketch again, though admittedly last year's one where he appeared in call the midwife did put a smile on my face. I would love to see another skit on the level of "curse of fatal death"

For those who want to to debate about whether the Neathersphere/The Promised Land/Heaven is filled with people who the Doctor has or has not failed, consider this.

The Police Officer. Missy pays him no attention.

Missy has only paid attention to those who have lost their lives whilst around The Doctor.

I am not amused -_- love the cybermen plot, and the nods to the classic 'Invasion' story from the second doctor era. However I would of preferred it without the mistress thing. *sigh*

Still hoping for a last episode surprise, but I'll not get my hopes up.

Yeah, the whole Mistress thing was a bit stupid, but I loved the idea of the x-ray water and the Cybermen.
The logo of 3W was also really cool, so at first it looks like a planet and a moon, then it's the crying eye of the Cybermen.

Now, the Cyberman in the room with Clara, is it Danny Pink?

It was a bit predictable, nice effort to swerve things by hinting it was Romana (but he didn't abandon her in E-Space, she chose to stay there though).

And now we know for certain that they can change genders the next Doctor will no doubt be played by Jenna Coleman.

Actually that would be a nice twist for the next episode. It'd explain this poster:

Image

Remember in Doomsday(?) how Yvonne Hartman, after being cyberfied, was able to make a stand against the Cybermen? How her eyes were crying oil (or some other liquid)? Could be a viable plot point.

Although we saw the boy that Danny had accidentally killed in his tour in the reflection of the iPad.

I thought, for a moment, it was Susan of all people. Then I thought "Ew, no, not after making with with her grandfather."

Of course, I'm not exactly happy about her actually being the Master. Any plot twist that can be predicted from the character's first appearance is not one I'm down with.

I remember that point n doomsday, iI also remember thinking it wasn't needed.Nothing would of really changed by losing it.

Plus I got a feeling that Danny and the little lad will help in stopping things. I'm still holding out that Seb is the master and missy is a trick. He certainly had more of the master ticks that john simm had.

Actually, speaking on the subject, the abandonment line. Now I can't remember too clearly but the master, more or less jumped Rasilon and forced him back in the vortex. Thus he sacrificed himself, the doctor didn't abandon him. At that point the master wouldn't of seen it as abandonment.
