The dumb things you do when you play with your Transformers when you're young.

What was the dumbest weirdest thing you did while playing with your Transformers toys when you're a kid?

I remember creating a scene where my Technobots was buried by the Decepticons(can't remember what Decepticon he was). I went outside to dig a hole and actually buried them there, and actually left it there because of my storyline and planned to dig them out tomorrow, but completely forgot about them.

I remembered about it days later, digged them out. They're still in one piece, but the wet ground completed rusted the screws.

Still wondered why did I even choose the left them there for the night..

Taking my toys out of ther packaging. I wiped out literally hunderds of dollars of value just by opening MISB G1 items :)

Just kidding. I did however shoot up a couple of M.A.S.K. figures with my airgun. None I didn't have doubles or triple of, though.

We had some old Chuck Norris figures (anyone remember those?) that we covered in lighter fluid and burned. It was great because their hollow rubber heads inflated and exploded before the rest of the figure melted.

When I first started collecting, aside from a very small Energon collection, I had four Cybertron toys: Downshift, Brushguard, Override, and Optimus Prime.

The dumbest thing I did with them was create a love story Downshift, Brushguard, and Optimus all wanted to marry Override.

Look, I was 8, okay? :BANG_HEAD:

Excellent gender-stereotype rejection, at such a young age! :APPLAUSE:

Especially since her Japanese counterpart Nitro Convoy is male. :x

Unfortunately I never really grew out of being a kid and still play with my figures (Transformers are toys to be cherished and played with, not kept displayed in their acrylic prisons!). As such the ball joints on most of my Transformers are quite loose. My Movie Dreadwing (or Thrust as he is in my own continuity) has a very very VERY loose arm joint which I have tried to fix with nail varnish.

Also, my Dark Scorponok's arm ratchet broke, so I tried unscrewing his arm (which was complicated due to his claws) and fixed it (temporarily). Unfortunately, I put the missile trigger the wrong way round, and the screws are completely rounded now...

After I watched the animated movie, my Optimus "died" and I removed his head because one of the coneheads took it to create an evil Optimus. The trailer was dismantled as was Roller. I wish I hadn't done that. I still have the trailer in pieces with a bunch of other misc parts and weapons.

Dumbest thing I ever did with Transformers as a kid was never asking for them in the first place. lol

They'd have made perfect counterparts to my barbies! My 3 year old niece has it good. She gets to play with with Playskool Optimus & Chase in her doll house with her barbies (the most important being princess Ariel. Lol)

Letting my brother handle one of mine. When we were little, i always kept up with my toys and made sure they stayed in good shape. My brother, on the other hand, not so much. He would grab one of mine and, I swear, it wouldn't be 2 seconds and he would break it. I'm still not over what he did to my Swoop....

We were poor and couldnt afford much. Back in the mid 1980's, I was tired of my G1 Optimus Prime. So I did the logical thing and exploded him in tiny pieces to make some new toys. #-o

I had the complete Protectobot team. In a move, I gave them all to some charity, but I kept some guns.

Oh well...

I guess the only thing I did to my Transformers that wasn't bright was lend them out for days even weeks at a time. As for G.I. Joe I would create stumps on legs and arms on quite a few of them and paint the stump ends with red nail polish. I would imagine them being hit with high caliber bullets or stepping on land mines. Cut me a break, I grew up in Camden City, NJ.

I had tools and a will to destroy!

The best "custom" toy I made out of this was a spaceship. The base was the triangular base of a Star Treck model kit. The cockpit of the vessel was the entire repair drone from the trailer minus the "arm". As for the thruster, it was a random plastic peice and half a plastic egg. The kind to find prizes in it. Under the ship was a red bike reflector. The thing was held together with glue... and tape!

I kept that masterpeice for years and years! With any luck, it may still be buiried, somewhere... :-?

It wasn't a 'dumb' thing while playing that I did, it was giving some of them away. What possessed me I'll never know.

Back in the 80's, I would always like to get out the old screwdriver and disassemble them. Sometimes I'd even get them back together without any problems, but often they'd wind up looser than when they started or with some other various problem. In particular, I remember totally messing up the mechanism in Jetfire's front landing gear.

Back in 2011 i got tired of my Cybertron Backstop figure so i dismantled him and tossed his parts into a garbage disposal bin.

And i dont regret as much as the day after, he was ugly, a waste of money and deserved a gruesome dismantled death

I left a few outside for a few days. They got sun bleached and it rained which ruined the electronics in my G2 Megatron.

Either having regular "coast patrol" with Seaspray in a full sink or bathtub, or re-enacting how invulnerable the Stunticons were by having them fly off of heights or crashing them into walls.

While not playing with them, the dumbest things were to just throw them into a toybox, or to not keep track of them and lost quite a bit. I didn't have a huge collection as a kid, but I really wish I still had my Stunticon set along with a few other pieces. A few others have been purchased in recent years as they became reissued (Prime and PM Prime, Soundwave, Constructicons, etc).
