Btw, planning on getting the Japan version of FOC Metroflex too (okay, this time I'm BRAGGING!)

Metroflex ? is that some sort of transforming gym equipment ???

I just placed a order for Max at Robotkingdom, saving myself 130 euro from my original pre-order. Yay for me.

I know I could have gone cheaper, but at these prices, I'd like some assurance stuff actually arrives or is insured at the very least.

He was my second order with RobotKingdom. It was a bit rough that I had to pay upfront (normally pay when I have to with HLJ) and I had to pay extra on freight, and you also can't see what orders you have outstanding, but I tell you what, great communication and he got here in less than a week. You're in safe hands there RhA.

I've spent close to $8000 at robotkingdom in the last 5 years, never had a single problem with them, sometimes even get bonus stuff in my boxes (like a WST Sixshot once). With my Fort Max order, I'd ordered a bunch of other stuff, and selected registered mail, as EMS was about $100 more expensive. When the news came through that it could only be EMS for Fort Max orders to Australia, I was only asked to pay the shipping difference as though I'd ordered Fort Max alone ($30), not for the whole lot.

They treat their customers right.

To spice up the sensation of a dopamine overload................watch either Sunbow's "Rebirth" or Takara's "Headmasters" and you'll be in Nirvana! 8-}

Additional advise to Formax owners, when transforming (inevitable given that this is a transforming toy), his painted die-cast parts are kind of dangerously located moving parts prone to paint chipping.

1.His torso plate that serves as the base of the center tower
2.His left leg artillery mount

If it were up to me, I'd wish the metal was mold/cast in dark blue color instead of painted. But then again you can't get everything you want in life.

As for my off the topic remark concerning FOC Metroflex..........intentional sarcasm

I'm very wary of this figure. Even considering cancelling my preorder since so many of us here have reported tons of horrifying QC problems with this thing. Is the risk of having so many misassembled/loose/mispainted/missing parts with something this expensive really that worth it?

I haven't seen any problems with mine. But I haven't sat down and gone through the whole list either. He's been removed from the box, transformed, and had stickers applied and he seems fine.

BBTS. Twas their later shipment that came at the end of April (their early shipment came at the beginning of April, but it was more expensive so I went with the more economical choice, even if it meant waiting longer).

Mine came in Monday. Minor nitpicks for mine. Spike's thigh sections are assembled backwards. Not an issue, still works properly and will almost always be hidden even if I cared. This a widespread issue with this release. Cannon in left hand popped out. I shaved the channel out a little and it's fine now. The ramp/jail on his left leg has a stress mark, possibly even a crack. I'm not tickled about it but it too will almost always be hidden. Cerebros legs are tight, like they were on Brave Max. I'm not bothered by it. I assumed it's how it should be. The crotch area on Fort had some weird dark almost burnt looking stuff on it. I used some cotton swabs and rubbing alcohol to remove it. I think it's mold release but it seems like it might also have been been mixed into the plastic. Again, not a deal breaker. It cleaned up well enough to satisfy me.

I have transformed him a few times now which is more than I ever did with Brave. Took my time stickering him and he looks so good. None of my die cast is chipped or marred. I'm really happy to have him. I'd kinda forgotten to figure out what to do with his sword once he showed up. So now Fort is all guns and Brave has a nice new sword. :)

Mine is near perfect, but does have some things of notice.

1. One of the bags containing most of the accessories was open, leaving several of them free to spill out and rattle loosely throughout the unopened box. All the accessories were there, but the looseness rattling inside had me worried at first.

2. The larger head was mispackaged, with it being wedged between the body and the Styrofoam at an angle instead of laying flat against either one.

3. There was a loose piece rattling inside left half of the central tower. Upon opening it up with a screwdriver, turns out it was the clip that attached the tower half to the side of his torso... except that there already one of those clip already in place, making this one an extra, unnecessary one that wasn't supposed to be there.

4. The joints connecting the larger toy's legs to its lower body are super tight. Well, the right one is manageable, but the left one is so tight that I have to use far more force than I want to in order to twist/turn it, fearing I may winding up either braking it, hurting myself, or both.

5. One or two of the stickers wound up tearing on me during my applying them to the figure.

6. The flip out cannons in the tower halves felt loose, but I couldn't figure out how to tighten them since the plastic pieces they were attached to were already screwed in properly and as far in as they could possibly go.

7. The twin-barrel blue gun's main handle feels loose in Max's grip.

Though, some of these can be seen as nitpicks for an otherwise satisfactory figure. 8)

Looking at Ryan's Spike gallery... mine's got its legs backwards too.

It's a common issue with this release. It should still work perfectly fine. Mine does and I have yet to hear otherwise from anyone else yet. Just be happy they aren't mismatched like some. That right there, would drive me crazy. It wouldn't matter that I'd never really see it.

I hear you. I totally get that. I did a little research before I really messed with it to figure out what the known issues were. So I could look out for them before I spent hours stickering an effed up copy. Once I discovered the leg issue was seemingly dominant in all of the run, I felt better about it. Again, I'm just pleased mine aren't mismatched. Others weren't so lucky.

Indeed. Considering all the things that could have gone wrong here, including the way customs went Goku on the box, I'm lucky to have a great looking and solid Fort Max.

I wish there was some way to loosen up the joints connecting the legs to the pelvis so I could transform him easier.

Same with the knees of Fortress/Cerebros/the guy who forms Max's head.

You can with Cerebros. You have to disassemble the legs. if you've stickered over the screws that is a real bummer. You will need to either loosen the screws a bit, if that doesn't do the trick, there's likely some mold flash to shave down in there. As for the hips on Fortress, I got nothing. Both my Brave Max and this one are tight there too. Fort is less so actually. Funny that as adults, we still can't fathom the force necessary for this "childrens toy".

I was able to carefully remove the label from one of the head dude's knees and unscrew it open. Seeing how the leg was constructed, I decided to leave it alone, screw it back together, reapply the decal, and live with it.

Max's hips, however, I've haven't tackled yet, but I do find it baffling that I have actually hit the thing's legs with such physical force in order to get them to move, especially the stupidly tight left leg.

I'm just still amazed that after all these years the greatest TF holy grail, the mother of all G1 TF with its gigantic size had finally come into my life
The beauty of all, we don't have to spend, not 1000+, 500+, but only 329 from BBTS to get a pristine one! Thank you TTomy

Ironically, since I had him a couple of weeks back, I only opened up the box to verify the contents then placed him back into the box. Now he's store away inside closet. Haven't got a chance to transform him yet
