Most of the guys on here are pretty cool. I don't really have any complaints. Besides, you get cool points if you're a chick that likes Transformers...as long as you don't make Starscream in love with another male Transformers, you're ok.

I appreciate the source of the sentiment of reassuring the female populace that the male populace will defend them against all comers.

However, I think it is a little presumptuous to assume that the female members cannot take care of themselves and the idea that you think they need help might actually be offensive to some of them?

Not to derail this thread, just my 2 cents thrown into the pool for equal treatment in thought as in kind.

P.S. This was not meant as an attack on anyone who posted here. Just kinda a raising awareness type of post that there is a fine line between chivalry and chavenism. Then again, maybe I'm just half asleep and typing rubbish. If so slap me in a PM.

But seriously, yay for us female Transformers fans! Several of my female friends love TF also, so I don't feel so alone. My brother thinks I'm insane for liking TF so much, though I've been slowly converting him to the fandom (at least with the movie because he thinks their weapons rule), and my parents support my fandom, LOL! It's awesome

What a great analysis! However, I do like the idea of humans being fodder.

Heh! Well, it is kind of entertaining, but it's also really overdone... the idea of humans doing nothing but running around screaming while giant monsters run around either shooting at them or each other has been done in almost every "giant monster" movie ever.

Plus, if you're going to use Earth as nothing but a fancy battleground, I'd rather just skip it and have everything set on some other alien planet instead.

As for the topic of female Transformers fans... I've always managed to like things that stereotypically have more male fans than female fans. So one, it doesn't bother me in the slightest to be around lots of men, because I like hanging out with men a lot, and can hold my own if need be. And for two, I know the divide usually isn't as large as people might think. And for three... most people online tend to think I'm a guy anyway unless I state otherwise.

Plus, in my experience, women make more of a big deal of it than men do. For instance, I once worked at a software store where I was the only girl working there. The other employees and the male customers treated me just like any other employee in the store - it was the *female* customers who made a huge deal about "Wow, a girl who knows computers!".
