Michael Myers
the one who started it all... an entity of pure, ostensible evil.. as a child, he murdered his sister on Halloween night.. 15 years later, he returned to finish the job... and hasn't stopped since.. Myers is an intelligent, calculating, insatiable, murderous bogeyman, incapable of remorse, pity or compassion. his life's purpose is to ensure that you die.

"I met this six year old child with this blank, pale, emotionless face, and the blackest eyes; the devil's eyes…I realized what was living behind that boy's eyes was purely and simply…evil." - Dr. Loomis

vs.

Image
Jason Voorhees
the one who could very well end it all... this is one maniacal, machete wielding freak... who loves his mother. as a youth, he frequented his mother's workplace, Camp Crystal Lake, until the day he drowned in said lake due to negligent councilors.. this prompted his mother into madness, and she began murdering the people she deemed responsible for her sons death.. until she herself was beheaded.. a beheading that was witnessed by none other than her son. now, Jason picks up where his mother left off, punishing any teen foolish enough to venture onto his killing fields looking for fun.
Jason is a large, mentally challenged brute, but skilled in laying crude traps for his victims. & although he is a cold blooded monster, he does have a humane side, as he refuses to harm animals & children.

both of these terror titans are evenly matched in terms of strength and ruthlessness, so the question lingers... what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object?

If it was possible, this would be his only downfall. Michael doesn't care about anyone or anything. His sole purpose is to find Laurie and kill her. However, in Halloween: Resurrection he succeeded. So what's left for him? Why keep killing? As for Jason, the only reason he would fight Michael is if he went to Camp Crystal Lake. The only reason that would happen is if he chased Laurie there. If that's the case, nothing would
stop Michael. Not even Jason.

i agree with 98% that.

the Halloween movies are so warped and disfunctional in their canonicity that it's hard to tell how Michael would really have acted after finally killing his sister. in Halloween 4: Return of Michael Myers, he goes after his niece when he finds out Laurie is already dead... even though many don't really count 3 - 6 as happening in the same universe as Halloween's 1, 2, H20 & Resurrection. either way, Michael will kill whoever he sets out to kill.

when it comes to Jason, when he's determined to kill something, he'll likely venture out past the woods of Crystal Lake, as evidenced in Friday the 13th VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan, and Freddy vs. Jason, for that matter..

common denominator between the two? they both have a hard on for getting the one that got away. so, here's how they clash..

after learning of his mother's death in Resurrection, John Tate(Josh Hartnett's character in H20), moves as far away from the memories as possible and ends up in a lil town called Crystal Lake, where he takes on a summer/fall job as a councilor at the nearby camp. things go well through summer, but as fall rolls around, John begins having strange dreams.. like something is awakening inside of him and pulling him toward.. what?.. soooo, as the cycle of Camp Crystal Lake goes, we know what happens next. and John, thinking Michael Myers has followed him to Crystal Lake to finish off what he started, decides to meet his destiny head on and finish off the f*cker who killed his mother for good. after a run in with a hulking, machete weilding, hockey masked maniac, John becomes confident that it's just some local **** who knows his history and is taunting him with sloppily executed copycat killings. and John lures the killer into a trap in which, in some hollywood grand fashion, he heroically "kills" the wanna be Michael Myers. the next morning, he hops on the first train outta town, relieved to be over the ordeal and glad to have rid himself of the Haddonfield Hacker's half wit imposter .. but unbeknownst to John Tate, that was no copycat killer he encountered at the lake.. it was an entirely different monster altogether.. a monster by the name of Jason Voorhees. train trouble forces the passengers to off load a couple of states before their intended destination, and John checks into a local hotel. that night, John has the same strange dream, something awakening.. awakening and coming.. he sees the terrified face of some hapless stranger as hands that weren't his own close around their throat, snapping their neck. the next morning, a newsflash on the t.v. of the diner he's sitting in catches his eye, namely because the picture of a man found dead at a local truck stop looked exactly like the man he saw in his dream. John, in disbelief, looks out of the diner window and, off in the distance, sees the silhouette of a shape.. an all too familiar shape in cover alls and a dingy white Halloween mask. the month is October. the date is the 30th. queue John Carpenter's "Halloween Theme". in a frenzy, John Tate rushes to the train station only to find it crawling with police. apparently, someone had slaughtered the entire crew in various gruesome ways, and it was discovered that the cause of the train trouble was a huge machete that was found imbedded in the engine block. something had clearly followed John from Crystal Lake. but the authorities weren't convinced. the police knew all about John Tate's past and held him for questioning in connection with the fresh Crystal Lake murders, the truckstop murder and the train murders, stating that "crazy must run in the family", a reference to fact that his mother killed an emt technician thinking it was Michael Myers. disgruntled & irate, John lashes out at his interrogators, warning them all of their impending doom if they don't let him go. this earns him a night in prison, with the police lieutenant joking that if Michael Myers or any other lunatic wanted to kill him, he'd have to obtain a visitors pass first, and wishing him a happy Halloween before locking the the cell and leaving. that night John, trying to sleep, is assaulted by the most vividly horrific dream yet. he's standing outside of the very same precinct he's holed up in, looking inside at a fat patrolman reading the newspaper. he walks over to the powerbox and opens it, tearing out the wires and blacking out the entire building. somehow he knew the fat patrolman would come outside and he waited in the shadows, drawing an enormous kitched knife from his cover alls... as the patrolman rounds the side of the building, he reaches out and... John Tate is awakened by the high pitched shriek of a man in close proximity. it's pitch black in his cell... in the whole building.. and suddenly, horrifically, his dreams begin to make sense... he realizes that he's not dreaming... but seeing... seeing what his uncle.. Michael Myers, is seeing... there is a sudden whirring sound as the emergency generators kick on and a dim red light floods the precinct... and he sees, holding a bloody kitchen knife and staring menacingly at him from across the open building, the very face of true f*cking evil. as Michael Myers begins his advance, he's stopped short by a loud bang coming from the door on the other side of the building, and with a deafening crash, the metal bolt locked door rips from it's hinges and flies across the precinct. standing there seething, is none other than the machete weilding, hockey masked psychopath John had encountered in Crystal Lake... Michael Myers and Jason Voorhees have both come for the prize of John Tate's head... and neither one of them are willing to accept sloppy seconds. who takes home the prize?

Michael still wins. John is his nephew and has a much closer tie to Michael than to Jason. Jason is out for simple revenge, Michael is driven by something even deeper. So what ends up happening is either Michael protects John to save him for himself later, or Michael and John actually team up temporarily to get Jason. And then if John is smart enough, he surprises Michael and the end of his battle with Jason and kills him as well. Or devises a plan so that they take each other out.

yea i'm with you there. Michael would pretty much mop the floor with Jason, but not after a long ass fight though, since none of these mofo's can really die. i think Jason has the slight edge in the brute strength & improvisational weapons category, but Michael outclasses him in every other field. he's quicker, more agile, he's smarter, he's matched for strength, his determination is unflinching; he'll still be trying to kill John even as he's curb stompin that hockey mask. Jason is too much of a lumbering brute to go blow for blow. Michael would simply dodge and strike, dodge and strike, or he'd just block and disarm. Jason would have the slight upper hand in a grapple though, he'd likely toss Myers around a bit before Michael got tired of it and chopped off a hand or some ****. it would become a messy fight pretty quickly. i think John would wind up helping Jason fight Michael though, cuz Jason's easily manipulated and it would work in both their favors. and after all, who'd wanna team up with the dude who killed their mother? lol, i can see John spazzing out on some "i'll kill you! you killed my mother!!" and a severely injured Jason understanding & maybe sympathizing with it.. so they try to take on Myers together n cripple him enough for John to get away and maybe blow both Jason & Michael the hell up.

I go for the guy who's biggest nemesis was not a fat old man with a bad leg and who also wasn't beaten up by Buster Rhymes.

You go to Crystal Lake and piss of the dumb guy, you die.

I don't think Michael would have an easy time with Jason. The only thing that would bring Michael victory is his determination. Let's look at this categorically:

Strength winner: Jason

Size winner: Jason

Speed winner: Michael

Weapon winner: even (the machete has a longer reach, but a butcher knife can be wielded more efficiently)

Smarts winner: Michael (Jason is not stupid, but Michael is more crafty)

Endurance winner: I want to say even, but Jason has been brought back from being almost rotted to the bone. On the other hand, Michael can withstand almost all kinds of damage. Fire, explosions, bullets, hanging, drowning, you name it.

They're pretty much dead even physically, that's why I say it all comes down to determination and what drives them. How bad they want to achieve their goal?
