Yeah, that's what I'm going to do. I'm just totally unmotivated. :(

It might help if you have something specific in mind to train for, like running 10k within a certain time, or even running in an event. There might be rowing or track clubs near you or other sport clubs, I find it really hard to discipline myself when on my own with no specific goal :(

...how about fitting into all the shirts I can't wear yet haven't thrown away?

From personal experience I set my goals low.

For example, before I started doing what i'm doing. I couldn't jog. Then I found myself being able to jog for 30 seconds, then it was 45 seconds, now i'm up to a minute. Month by month I want to improve on that.

I also couldn't do sit ups. Not without help anyway. Now I can do at least 20 a day (did 40 all up yesterday).

It may not seem like much, but I prove to myself that i'm improving bit by bit.

Ideally i'd love to reach a point I could do a triathalon and beat the uncle of one of ex's who has never liked me because he's a fitness freak and i'm fat.

That's all I really have for you that counts for advice is just move around more. My best friend since we were babies is like over 300lbs but I have him walk with me everywhere like to the store or to parties. Trust me, It's working very well

I'm not chunky either but holy crap am I smaller then you guys. I'm only like 5'7"

I resent being called chunky :( I'm 6'4" but i'm definately heading towards festively plump ;) Aparently rowing machines are the best for cardio and working all of your muscles in one go. That's what one of my fit friends told me, anyway.

Okay. I'm sorry. It was kind of uncalled for/funny. I'm not really in shape though, just scrawny almost. But I do suggest getting one of them Insanity workouts or Tapout XT. A friend of mine bought one of them and the dude is ripped.

Yeah, my cousin got Insanity and it worked for him as well, he definitely recommended it. Maybe I'll give it a shot if I have the cash...

Those are for people who are already in shape, and WANT a body builder's body though. You can't just pick it up and say "I'm going to do this" without you knowing weather or not your body is ready and can handle it.

You can use them to get in shape, but you have to have different expectations. That's why I want to try it, but first I have to get motivated to get on a bike. But I think those programs can help she excess weight just like they can rip an already in-shape person's body. The question is, as you said, can an overweight person's body handle it?

Physical fitness, eh? In all seriousness, I watch Dragon Ball Z while I exercise, and when I lift weights, I listen to DBZ music. I know I can't become a Super Saiyan, and it probably sounds stupid, but it really does help. Exercising in complete silence is just plain boring. Street Fighter, Marvel VS Capcom, and similar games also have some good music to work out to, as well!
As far as my diet, I try to just eat things like a bowl of ham and beans, or steamed rice and vegetables (preferably with some spicy sauce and chicken, which is my favorite. I don't know why, but spicy food motivates me.) Just some basic things like that.
As for my actual routine, I usually just try to ride a bike for a few miles every other day, but I do crunches, side-crunches, push-ups, pull-ups, and chin-ups (I usually don't count. I just do each one until I have to stop and take a break, then I move on) every day, and I usually lift weights right before or after supper.

Just for the record, I'm 5'11" and I weigh about 170 pounds. For getting into a routine, I'm with Burn. Every little bit counts. Just do as much as you can each day, and your ability will increase.

What I would suggest is that if you don't think your body is ready for it, then think start off slow. Like do it every 3 days 'till you get used to it and then switch to 2 and everything. From what I've heard, you only have to do it for 45 minutes a day..
