Motto: "Don't take life too seriously or you'll never get out of it alive."
Weapon: Lightning Rifle
Old name, new character that I'm considering adding to my team after dropping another. I don't remember much of the old character, except he was mean.

Name: Blitzshell
Allegiance: Decepticon
Sub-Group: Eisen Dragoons
Function: Berserker
Transformation: T-90 Battle Tank
Cry havoc and let slip the dogs of destruction!

Profile: A sullen character, Blitzshell always has a dark cloud following him around. He rarely talks, and when he does, it’s usually in a low, annoyed growl that tells everyone to back off. No one knows why he’s so grouchy and it’s unlikely that anyone will find out; he’s won’t talk to anyone and won’t allow anyone to diagnose his memory storage. About the only time his mood improves is in combat and then his actions make Novacula’s eccentricities seem tame by comparison. His aggression software goes into overdrive in these situations, getting the disks in his hard drive moving so fast they glow white from the heat. Blitzshell’s central CPU has all the processing power of an abacus when he’s at his calmest, but when he’s wound up, what little brainpower he does have goes out the window. About the only thing he can keep straight is which side he’s on. His typical modus operundi is to shoot first and ask question never, and his arsenal is on a hair trigger – he’s been known to unload his entire ordinance on dust particles, because they “surprised” him. He never aims at his target, prefers instead to saturate an area with live ammo, raining destruction onto his enemies. He’s not the best soldier for stealth work or precision strikes, but no one can match him for sheer intimidation when pointed in the right direction.

Abilities: Blitzshell is one of the strongest members of the Eisen Dragoons, second only to Northclaw; he can lift several tons and a single punch can crack a pillar of concrete three-meters thick. His main armament is an 125mm smoothbore cannon with a maximum range of six kilometers. The cannon is capable of firing any variety of ordinance, including armor-piercing sabot rounds, high-explosive anti-armor and fragmentation rounds, and laser guided missiles. He’s also armed with a 12.7mm anti-air machine gun that can be used against both aerial and ground targets. His armor is made from a new medium-weight composite material that is durable enough to with stand all but the most powerful of weaponry.

Weaknesses: Blitzshell rarely thinks before he acts. He’s been known to fall off the edge of a cliff chasing after foes that can fly. It’s not uncommon for him for him to run out of ammunition early in a fight. This isn’t usually a problem in one-on-one fights, but can get him into trouble against multiple enemies.

A new bio for Karakal:

Name: Karakal
Allegiance: Decepticon
Sub-Group: Eisen Dragoons
Function: Infiltration/Sabotage/Thief
Transformation: Netbook/Clouded Leopard
“It’s not about survival of the fittest; it’s about survival of the most cunning.”

Profile: Karakal is used to skulking in the shadows and operating by her wits: she’s had to use these skills to survive in the shanty towns that are common to Hylion Prime. At less than a meter in length and barely taller than a human’s knee, Karakal is smaller than even the standard humanoid cassette warrior, and is thus vulnerable to the various hostile beings that inhabit the Hylion slums. Making herself seem inconspicuous was a way to reduce her chances of being assaulted by her neighbors and even allowed her to become proficient in stealing what she needed from them. Although she prefers to avoid unnecessary conflict – and thus serious injury – this does not mean she can’t or won’t fight, especially if pushed or cornered. She can be particularly vicious when she fights, acting more like a wild animal than a skilled warrior. In fact, her very personality is similar to that of a near-feral cat: friendly one minute, aloof another, and rancorous the next. Due to a flaw in her vocal synthesizer, Karakal can only communicate through cat-like growls and purrs, though she can usually get her point across. If she is required to elaborate, she can mix together a variety of sounds and voices from her databanks so she can “talk” to others, although she prefers not to use this time consuming technique. Karakal first came to the attention of the Eisen Dragoons when she infiltrated their ship, the Lightning Saix, looking for spare energon. Impressed with her ability to bypass their security grid and recognizing that her skills could be useful to them, Northclaw offered her a position in the Dragoons. Karakal accepted with little hesitation, seeing the offer as a way to improve her life. She’s since become one Northclaw’s favorites and is on good terms with her teammates, who half-jokingly claim that she recruited herself into the Dragoons. Outsiders sometimes mistake the Dragoons’ treatment of Karakal as that of a beloved housecat, but the truth is that they consider her a valued comrade who has more than earned her placed among their ranks.

Abilities: Karakal is hardly the fastest Decepticon in the ranks but there are few who can match her in agility, on either side. Her skills in acrobatics are practically second to none: she can use her back legs to hang from horizontal beams with ease and has been observed climbing down vertical struts head first with no trouble. Her dexterity, combined with her small size, allows her to slip into and out of areas that are inaccessible to her larger comrades. She is able to hack into just about any computer system with ease, usually in nanokliks, copy any sensitive data files she finds, listen in on classified communiqués, upload false information, or even plant a virus to fry hard drives and bring down their associated networks. She’s armed with a pair of light beam cannons for defense and is notorious for shooting at the joints and optics of larger opponents. She’s equipped with a pair of electromagnetic pulse generators, one in each flank, that produces a powerful EMP burst that can disable electronics and larger robots within a fifteen meter radius. Her retractable, hardened Cybertronian alloy claws can shred aluminum like it was paper and she uses the exceptionally long canines to tear into the thinly armored neck braces, hydraulics and fuel lines of her victims. She’s carries a variety of sensors, including, infrared, UV, radar, sonar, and electromagnetic, to detect interlopes and avoid detection and is equipped with special holographic emitters in her nanoskin that allows her to disappear into the background.

Weakness: Karakal has had to sacrifice protective armor in order to achieve her astonishing level of dexterity; as a result, even a glancing blow can result in major damage. Her small size and agility make her a difficult target to hit, more than making up for her thin skin. The two beam cannons she carries are practically useless against medium and heavy armor, thus explaining her tactic of shooting for the joints and optics of her opponents. While immune from the effects of her own EMP weapons, generating even a single pulse uses up a significant amount of energy, often draining her power cells to critical levels. The high-energy demands of this weapon leave her feeling lethargic and disables her other defensive systems, and since it takes time for her cells to recharge, she’s practically defenseless. Because of this, Karakal will only activate her EMP generators as a last resort and will make sure she can escape to somewhere secluded and close-by before use.

Here's a bio for a character I'm thinking of adding to the team. Let me know what you all think.

Name: Invicerator
Allegiance: Decepticon
Sub-Group: Eisen Dragoons
Function: Field Medic/Transport
Transformation: Hover Transport
“I can replace a trooper’s parts almost as fast as they lost them.”

Profile: To many, Invicerator can be an intimidating presence. He’s an extremely large Decepticon, exceeded only by “cityformers” like Trypticon, with an arachnid-like build and arms equipped with a variety of hooks and vice-like shears. He speaks with a soft voice and a calm tone that can unnerve even the most aggressive Decepticon warrior. If that didn’t make him creepy enough, his superstructure is home to a variety of tiny arachnid and crustacean mechanoids which crawl over all him like bees in a hive. Despite these features, Invicerator is actually a welcomed sight if you’re a Decepticon whose been wounded on the battlefield. That’s because Invicerator is one of the most gifted field medics in the Decepticon ranks, able to patch up any mech in a matter of minutes. The swarms of tiny machines that live on him actually help him in this work, performing more delicate tasks that he is incapable of doing himself. He can also serve as a transport, moving troops into battle or moving those who are too critically injured to be treated on the field back behind enemy lines. But while Decepticons considered him a godsend when wounded, injured Autobots would do well to do what they can to get away from him. Invicerator often dismantles any wounded Autobot he picks up and uses their parts as replacements for those his comrades have lost in battle. He’ll even use parts from those mechs who have expired on the battlefield, so there’s no use in playing dead. His ability to take apart and put together mechs has earned him the nickname “the Walking Factory.”

Abilities: Invicerator’s skills as a battlefield medic are matched by few in the Decepticon ranks, though it should be noted that there aren’t many Decepticons his field. Even so, there’s no denying that he’s highly adept at repairing injured troops rapidly and efficiently, often under very adverse conditions. The swarms of small arachnid-like robots assist in his work, performing tasks that are often too delicate for him to do himself. He’s just as good at dismantling robots as he is putting them back together, often using the repurposed parts from terminated mechs and wounded Autobots to repair his comrades. He has a top speed of 112 kilometers an hour in vehicle mode and can transport and tow up to ten times his own mass. His superstructure is covered in several centimeters of nano-regenerative armor, allowing him to withstand even the most intense bombardments. He’s also well armed for a medic: two of his arms carry 105mm pulse beam cannons and he has ten missile pods placed strategically over his superstructure.

Weaknesses: Invicerator’s large size is his Achilles’ heel; he’s literally too big to miss. He’s also fairly slow in robot mode and not very maneuverable in either form. Fortunately, his size and the amount of armor on his superstructure means he’s very hard to bring down.

Couple of new bios, one for a new character and one for an old one:

Name: Blitzshell
Allegiance: Decepticon
Sub-Group: Eisen Dragoons
Function: Artillery Support
Transformation: Mobile Artillery Walker
“Cry havoc and let slip the dogs of destruction!”

Profile: For Blitzshell, the only thing better than watching things get blasted into pieces is being the one who does the blasting. The combination of the concussive sounds, the sight of the flash and resulting flames, the smell of smoke and charred debris, and the feel of the resulting shockwave gets Blitzshell’s hydraulics running. It’s one of the reasons why he enrolled in the artillery course at the Decepticon Military College. He turned out to be an adept student and to this day there are few mechs on either side who is as knowledgeable in their field as he is. A recent recruit with the Eisen Dragoons, Blitzshell is often deployed to soften up fortifications or simply to distract the enemy from the main team’s true goals. He doesn’t mind – as long as he gets to blow something up, he’s happy. When not in combat, he often works to refine his artillery skills and even work on developing new shells to use against the enemy. He’s been known to become frustrated when he has absolutely nothing to do.

Abilities: Blitzshell is armed with a large 155mm smoothbore cannon capable of firing a variety of ordinance; his favorites include cluster shells, EMP charges, and even shells that deliver an explosive force of 6,800kg. Depending on the elevation of the barrel, the weapon has an effective range of between 18,000 to 30,000 meters with rocket-assisted projectiles. Blitzshell is stronger than he appears to be: he can lift several hundred kilograms of weight in robot mode and can punch through hardened concrete walls with the assistance of the pile drivers and sonic drills on his arms. His unique walker design allows him cross terrain that would be inaccessible to wheeled and even tracked vehicles, allowing him to take advantage of cover and even making him inaccessible to the enemy.

Weaknesses: Blitzshell can fire his main cannon effectively at any range, but it’s much better suited for long range artillery bombardments than it is close quarters combat. In addition, the barrel has a tendency to overheat when fired too fast or too often. His armor is sufficient to protect him from small arms fire, but it can be breached by a direct hit from even medium artillery. Although quick, his vehicle mode is not as fast as a wheeled or tracked vehicle.

I think I figured out a good use for the old Scrapmetal alt with the character above.

Name: Venomstrike
Allegiance: Decepticon
Sub-Group: Eisen Dragoons
Function: Infiltration/Sabotage
Transformation: USB flash drive/Scorpion/Jet
“The more plumbing they put in, the easier it is to stop up the drain.”

Profile: Venomstrike is the consummate prankster; there is literally no length he won’t go to in order to get a laugh at someone else’s expense. Unfortunately for his fellow Decepticons, they’re usually the ones who end up on the butt end of his high jinks. Most of his shenanigans involve him slipping into electrical or computer systems to cause power blackouts, fuse electrical circuits, corrupt important reports and even delete entire data libraries. His antics rarely cause permanent damage, but they do keep the repair crews busy and does little to endear him to his fellow Decepticons. Stopping him is extremely difficult though, as he’s highly intelligent, extremely quick and agile, and, most importantly, one of the smallest Decepticons in their ranks. Although most Decepticon commanders consider Venomstrike nothing more than a nuisance at best, Northclaw saw some value in the tiny gremlin’s destructive tomfoolery and had him transferred to the Eisen Dragoons. Once indoctrinated into the Dragoons, Venomstrike was assigned the task of infiltrating and sabotaging Autobot installations before an attack, wrecking havoc on their power and defensive systems and leaving them vulnerable. It’s a mission Venomstrike enjoys; one where he can indulge in his spark’s content at the expense of the Autobots, who usually have more pressing concerns than hunting him down after he’s wrecked his havoc. His tiny size makes his assignment all the easier as any Autobot guards usually don’t notice him, and if they do, they usually mistake him for a repair drone – a mistake that amuses Venomstrike greatly. He usually works in concert with his fellow Dragoon Karakal, who is perhaps the only Decepticon who can control his antics.

Abilities: Venomstrike is one of the smallest Decepticons to ever come online, able to fit in the palm of a human’s hand when in scorpion mode. His size means he can access areas that are inaccessible to the average Decepticons and once in whatever space he’s in it can be difficult to pry him out. He has the ability to decipher how to dismantle any circuit or device simply by looking at it and he can precisely dismantle said device in a matter of nano-clicks. He can operate in a variety of conditions, even 350 meters under water. His jet mode can fly at speed of up to 217 kilometers per hour and he often uses this form to make quick escapes. In USB mode, he can upload or download information in a matter of minutes; he often uses this ability to upload computer viruses and worms into enemy mainframes. The claws of his scorpion mode are more dexterous than they seem and his tail is loaded with a small amount of cyber venom that can incapacitate even average sized Autobots. He’s armed with a small load of miniature rocket grenades that he uses mostly as a distraction, though they can be damaging depending if they hit a unprotected joints and electrical wiring.

Weakness: Venomstrike’s small size is his greatest asset but it’s also his greatest drawback. He’s so small and lightly armored that even a back handed slap from a larger robot can inflict serious damage on him. His cyber venom requires a precise hit to be effective and he only has a limited amount; once he runs out, it takes him a little time to recharge. His rocket grenades have all the explosive power of a firecracker and are best suited for use as a distraction than offensive weapons. His range in jet mode is extremely limited, thus he requires either an ally or a predetermined hiding spot to be within that range when he uses it.

Motto: "No one escapes retribution."
Weapon: Energy Blades
Finally got round to writing my team's new bio, and updating Gigabite to make him more of a menace.

Retribution

The dark side of the ‘Maximal’ movement, Retribution are considered a blight upon Cybertron by their enemies and a necessary evil by the faction they are supposedly a part of. Barely more than glorified terrorists the unit are specialists in causing the maximum damage in the minimum time. Such is Retribution’s reputation that the appearance of one of their members can cause even their allies to lose their nerve at the prospect of the impending carnage. Their commander, Kaijubot, appears to report to no one; picking and choosing targets in accordance with plans known only to him. Autobot command seems to barely tolerate the unit’s operations, especially the degree of collateral damage they cause.

Retribution are armed and equipped with distinctive and unusual technologies unseen outside of their hands. Thus many speculate that the team are not of Cybertronian origin; certainly their chosen name suggests they desire to make the Decepticons pay for some undisclosed crime. Others suggest that they are escaped test subjects seeking to exact revenge for what was done to them. Retribution themselves do not speak of their origin.

Gigabite

Function: Weapon of Mass Destruction
Alt Mode: Kaiju

“Crush”

Bio

Not so much a soldier as a one robot warfront, Gigabite is Retribution’s ‘big gun’; a giant Transformer capable of bringing down a city on its own. No one knows where Retribution gathered the resources to make Gigabite’s body-frame or access to a spark to give it life. The first anyone knew of Gigabite’s existence was when he destroyed the Decepticon outpost of Tor Voltis, where Gigabite appeared from a strange mist that had suddenly developed. At first believed to be some kind of crewed vehicle, Gigabite was confirmed as sentient during the Great Devastation when he was forced to operate independently in the Sonic Wastes, driving off the equally massive Error Threshold. Where Gigabite appears, Transformers fear to tread.

Capabilities:

Physically massive, only true ‘cityformers’ are larger than Gigabite. Incredibly strong and resilient, entirely immune to small arms and has been witnessed to shrug off attacks that would obliterate standard sized transformers. Subject is surprisingly agile for his size. Beast mode possesses a powerful beam weapon discharged from his mouth; the beam can reduce armoured bunkers to rubble in an instant. In robot mode possesses enough armament to fend off a battalion of Decepticons or reduce unarmoured targets to slag and scrap.

Weaknesses:

Gigabites size is his greatest weakness; he makes an incredibly easy target. While more agile than other Transformers his size he is still slow and unmoving compared to conventionally sized combatants. If a suitable defence can be constructed in time Gigabite can be driven off.

If you don't mind, Kai, I put together a bio of my own on Gigabite. I felt he need something a little more than what you put together, though I tried to stay as close to the source as possible. I hope you'll also excuse my Americanized English spelling.

Decepticon Intelligence Archive File #84072

Name: Gigabite
Allegiance: Autobot
Sub-Group: Retribution
Function: Weapon of Mass Destruction
Transformation: Kaiju
"Crush."

Profile: Gigabite is Retribution’s “doomsday weapon,” a one Transformer army capable of obliterating entire cities all on his own. Little is known about this massive warrior outside Retribution’s ranks as he was a black project constructed in an underground factory bunker far from front lines. The first anyone became aware of Gigabite’s existence was when he was set loose against the mist shrouded Decepticon outpost of Tor Voltis, obliterating the station in less than a mega-cycle. No one’s even sure where or how Retribution gained access to the resources need to construct such a monstrosity. It wasn’t even known that he had a spark in his chassis, sentient or otherwise, until he was observed operating independently in the Sonic Wastes, driving off the equally massive Decepticon Error Threshold; until then, he was thought of as a manned vehicle. His sentience is still up for debate even among his fellow Autobots as he rarely displays even a moderate level of intelligence; he rarely speaks more than a couple words at any one time. What is known about Gigabite is that when he appears on the battlefield, the average Decepticon trooper runs in fear of his presence.

Abilities: Physically, Gigabite is one of the more massive members of the Autobots, on par with giants like Omega Supreme. His sheer size, along with a tough armored superstructure, means he can shrug off even the heaviest artillery barrages the Decepticons can throw at him. He’s surprisingly agile for his size, able to outmaneuver any opponent his size or larger. His beast mode is armed with a powerful beam cannon located inside his jaws that can reduce armored bunkers to dust in mere nano-clicks. When he roars, he produces a powerful sonic wave capable of shaking smaller robots to pieces at a range of several miles, and even damage more durable targets. He can eliminate entire battalions with a single sweep of his tail, while his claws and teeth are capable of breaking into all but the toughest armor. His entire body is armed with enough cannons, laser emitters, and rocket launchers to reduce Decepticon armies and fortifications to molten slag. In robot mode, he’s strong enough to lift even a “cityformer” and punch through even hardened bunkers. He wields a pair of triple-barreled Gatling cannons that fire shells large enough to leave craters when they impact the ground – even unexploded.

Weakness: Gigabite’s sheer size is his greatest handicap; he’s just too big anyone to miss. Although he’s more maneuverable than Transformers who are equal or greater in size, he’s still slow and ungainly when compared to more average sized Cybertronians. His sheer bulk and heavy armor are usually enough to offset these weaknesses; however, advanced warning that he’s approaching and a stout defense can be enough to impede Gigabite’s advance and even drive him off.

For some reason, your original profile had me thinking that Gigabite looked something like the King Gojulas from the Zoids toy line, though I also used some aspects of the Death Saurer. I thought about giving him a base mode, but decided that would make him too much like an Autobot equivilent of Trypticon.

<snipped awesomeness>

Have to say I'm feeling outdone now. I'll have to work harder on the rest of my team's bios. As for alt mode, Gojoulas is much closer to the fact; Gigabite turns into Godzilla (Millenial version, aka Godzilla 2000) with lots of pop-out guns in beast mode. He's not supposed to be quite large enough to have a base/city mode, being designed to take out Transformers that large.

Thanks, really, that bio is fantastic.

New and improved, the repurposed Chillwind. I have to say I'm currently taking Archanubis' bios as a challenge to improve my own.

Edit: And because I don't have much better to do tonight, I've also updated Gorebash.

Name: Chillwind
Allegiance: Autobot
Sub-Group: Retribution
Function: Assassin
Transformation: Queztalcoatlus

"Slay not the body but the soul"

Profile:
A sinister omen in the skies, Chillwind is Retribution’s executioner. In line with their choice of terror tactics Chillwind eschews stealth in favour of ripping apart his target and any Decepticon foolish enough to stand in his path. Like most of Retribution, his origin is unknown beyond his first battlefield appearance. In combat he is a remorseless, silent killer, preferring to engage targets in melee with paired blades. The only hint of any interest other than the swift demise of his target is a curious tendency to assist the monster known as Flamedance; what relationship they share off the battlefield remains a mystery. Chillwind never emits vocal utterances on the battlefield; his silence in the face of injury is a tendency many find unnerving and causes some to reconsider their actions, a usually fatal mistake. It takes a vast effort to stop an assault from Chillwind due to his relentless nature and willingness to face overwhelming odds if it means a shorter path to his target. Perhaps his greatest edge, however, is the fact he often acts as herald for Gigabite; Chillwind’s appearance in the sky acting as a prelude to the cataclysm that may be about to descend on his enemies.

Abilities:
Equipped with alien technology, Chillwind is able to maintain supersonic speeds while in beast mode, an ability otherwise unheard of. Additionally, the subject can remain silent at all times, not even emitting basic motor noises. Prefers to wield twin diamond-edged swords in robot mode; combined with his well above average strength and agility Chillwind can casually dispatch most transformers in melee. Also utilises short range lasers in both modes, and long range air-to-surface missiles in beast mode; these have an accurate range of approximately 40km.

Weakness:
Although highly skilled the subject does not display any increased degree of resistance to his enemies’ weaponry; additionally he will fight on regardless of damage unless critically injured, often causing further damage to himself.

Name: Gorebash
Allegiance: Autobot
Sub-Group: Retribution
Function: Warrior
Transformation: Ankylosaur

"What doesn’t kill you will live to regret it."

Profile:
The only member of Retribution with a known history. Gorebash was a Predacon pit fighter and gladiator, fighting in Darkmount’s arena for the enjoyment of bloodthirsty Cybertronians. It is possible his participation was mandatory due to indentured servitude; at least one newsreel refers to him eventually winning his freedom. What records exist from the early stages of the war suggest that he operated as a mercenary, hiring his services to whoever offered the highest payment and the chance to best test his combat skills. He appeared as a member of Retribution, utilising a heavily reformatted body, just prior to the so called Battle of Five Armies and the Great Devastation, leading an attack on a Decepticon research facility. He typically appears to act as part of frontline engagements, usually engaging whoever appears to be the strongest opponent present or else taking on multiple enemies at once. As far as Intelligence reports suggest his sole motivation is finding and defeating powerful opponents. His membership of Retribution is considered a cause for concern as the unit is disruptive enough and Gorebash’s Predacon history is an issue for Autobot command.

Abilities:
Quite simply put, Gorebash is the best individual fighter in Retribution save, possibly, for Kaijubot himself. Gorebash displays incredible strength, speed and endurance that, combined with his extensive combat experience, make him more than a match for most Transformers; he has been witnessed to simply ignore physically weaker enemies in favour of focusing on a perceived powerful adversary. He favours an Energon Sabre as his primary armament but is known to also use shoulder mounted chain cannon and an arm mounted micro-rocket launcher. His beast mode resembles a member of the extinct Ankylosaur family of Dinosaurs once native to earth; it sacrifices some agility for reinforcing Gorebash’s armour. In this mode he also possesses a tail-club that contains a shockwave generator that releases powerful burst of kinetic energy on impact with the enemy, ripping their body apart from the inside.

Weakness:
Subject’s experience relates primarily to one-on-one combat; complex tactical situations leave him off-guard and vulnerable. Also, while incredibly capable physically he possesses no unusual abilities; others with such abilities can possess and edge in combat.

Also, because I forgot to mention it earlier, I really like the image of a giant spider-like mech covered in a swarm of smaller bug-mechs. The bio for Invicerator is nicely evocative of the image.

I don't know what it is about your bios, Kai, but something about them just makes me want to "improve" on them. I try to stay close to original source, but there are just some things that seem redundant (not that *I'm* not guilty of that ;) ).

First, Chillwind:
Decepticon Intelligence Archive File # 84075

Name: Chillwind
Allegiance: Autobot
Sub-Group: Retribution
Function: Melee Combat Specialist
Transformation: Queztalcoatlus

"Slay not the body but the soul"

Profile: Retribution’s highly skilled aerial executioner, Chillwind is considered by some Decepticons to be an sinister harbinger of impending destruction. His reputation was forged in part by the fact he serves as a herald of sorts to his massive teammate Gigabite; the former’s low, supersonic passes often precede an attack by the latter. In combat, Chillwind is a taciturn, remorseless, and relentless killer who forsakes stealth for direct attacks against his enemies, slicing them to pieces with his razor-sharp swords. He’ll take great risks to accomplish his mission, sometimes fighting through overwhelming odds simply because it was the shortest distance to his target. He rarely utters so much as a grunt under any circumstance and rarely shows any visual expression of emotion even when he’s been seriously injured. The lack of any show of pain can unnerve his opponents so much that they’ll pause to reconsider their actions, a mistake that usually proves fatal. Although generally considered emotionally cold by his fellow Autobots, Chillwind does have a curious habit of coming to the aid of his teammate Flamedance when the latter is in trouble, actions that Flamedance often reciprocates. They are a formidable pair on the battlefield but their relationship off it is a matter of speculation as they rarely interact with each other outside of war council meetings and keep their opinions of each other to themselves.

Abilities: Chillwind is capable of attaining and maintaining supersonic speeds even in beast mode; he can even supercruise at speeds up to Mach 1.7. This originally unprecedented ability is thanks to new technology that’s rumored to be of alien origin. When his missions require silence, he can activate special silencing equipment that can suppress the sounds of even the most basic motor functions. His weapon of choice is that pair of diamond-edged scimitar swords he wields in robot mode; these blades are capable of slicing through most alloys with ease. Combined with his above average strength and agility, Chillwind can use these blades to dispatch all but the most durable opponents in melee combat. For ranged combat, he’s equipped with a pair of short range lasers he can utilize in either form and carries a limited payload of air-to-air/air-to-ground missiles in beast mode, these missiles have an effective range of 40km.

Weakness: Chillwind’s preference to engage his opponents up close and personal can get him into trouble, especially if he underestimates his target’s skill and durability. His proficiency in long range combat is rather limited, putting him at a disadvantage if an adversary with such skills is able to maintain a healthy distance from him. He’s only lightly armored and has to rely on his speed and agility to avoid serious damage. It’s not unusual for him brought down by an opponent because he became too focused on his primary goal and he’s been known to ignore all but the most debilitating injuries.

I changed his function from "Assassin" to "Melee Combat Specialist" because my image of assassins are of characters who strike suddenly. Not neccessarily ninjas, but generally, the first anyone is aware an assassin is present is after the first shot. Given that the original bio suggests that stealth is not Chillwind's modus operandi, the "assassin" desgination didn't really fit. I also gave him supercruise capabilities (basically, the ability to go supersonic without afterburners), because it fit with the idea of "new technology" behind his propulsion system. The addition of scimitars as his weapons just seemed to fit him.

Now, Gorebash:
Decepticon Intelligence Archive File # 84080

Name: Gorebash
Allegiance: Autobot
Sub-Group: Retribution
Function: Warrior
Transformation: Ankylosaur

"What doesn’t kill you will live to regret it."

Profile: Gorebash was originally a Predacon pit gladiator who fought in various arenas in Darkmount and Kaon for the entertainment of their bloodthirsty residents. It’s not known how he ended up as a participant in these violent games, though most agree that it wasn’t by choice: recent video evidence recovered from the ruins of Kaon make mention of him winning his freedom. Information on his activities after that are largely sporadic; what information has been salvaged suggests he operated as a mercenary, offering his services to whomever could afford his substantial fee and gave him the best chance to hone his combat skills. He signed on with Retribution just prior to the Battle of Five Armies and the Great Devastation and first saw action when he lead an attack on a heavily defended Decepticon research facility. As far as anyone can determine, his main motivation for fighting simply seems to be engaging and defeating the most powerful opponents he can find. To this end, he can often be found at the forefront of any battle, either fighting one-on-one with a single opponent or bashing through multiple adversaries, often ignoring physically weaker opponents to focus on an adversary he perceives as the strongest. Although Autobot Command appreciates his enthusiasm, they’re wary of his Predacon heritage, and the fact that he’s joined unorthodox and troublesome Retribution does little to ease their concerns.

Abilities: Gorebash is considered the best individual fighter in Retribution, second only to Kaijubot, and even that’s questionable. He possesses strength on par with the most powerful Dinobot, able lift several tons and smash hardened concrete blocks into dust with a single punch. The superstructure of both his robot and beast modes is covered in thick armor, allowing him to shrug off impacts from most melee and projectile weaponry. He typically favors an energon sabre as his primary weapon, but is equipped with a shoulder mounted chain cannon and micro-rocket launchers in his arms for combat at a distance. His primary weapon in ankylosaur mode is a massive club on his tail that he can swing with such force that he can shatter a foot thick plate of neutronium with a single blow. The club is equipped with a kinetic energy generator that emits a powerful shockwave on impact, sending tremors though an opponent’s body that are so severe that they can literally shake an opponent apart from the inside out.

Weakness: Though not stupid by any means, Gorebash’s combat experience is limited to one-on-one, straight forward battles; even simple tactical strategies can leave him feeling confused. His habit of ignoring opponents he views as physically weak can leave him vulnerable to attacks by more cunning adversaries. He’s neither fast nor agile; having sacrificed both for armor, but his durability can usually offset this shortcoming. In addition, he has very limited vision in beast mode due to a flaw in his optical systems, the cause of which is still the subject of investigation.

This guy basically stayed pretty much the same; I just restructured the paragraphs, moved a few items to other categories, expanded his abilities and weaknesses, and dropped some odd items. I dropped speed from his abilities becase 1)Ankylosaurs were probably not capable of much more than a slow amble, and 2)Gorebash's a big, heavily armored guy, which does strike me as someone capable of great speed. I'll admit, my Northclaw's supposedly capable of moving at 340k/hr (204mph), but over open terrain and only with the support of several boosters; without those boosters, he's walking, and not very fast (and I have my doubts that he can make full use of his thrusters in robot mode). I didn't see anything about boosters or any other propulsion system for Gorebash, so it was dropped. Also dropped was mention of his "lack" of special abilities as being able to generate shockwave with his tail is pretty special in my book. I did add that he has poor eyesight in beast mode for two reasons: 1)at least two sources suggest that Ankylosaur vision was on par with rhino vision, 2)I thought it would be amusing to have a 'bot with poor vision in at least one mode. ;)

I was using a broader definition of "assassin" for Chillwind; more specifically, his new bio is based on Eversor assassins from Warhammer 40,000, who are programmed to rip through anything that comes between them and their target. I was inspired by the supercruise capabilities of the F-22, but somehow I doubt most beast modes would be capable of moving that fast.

For Gorebash, he's only suppossed to be agile in robot mode, trading it off for extra armour in beast mode. He's more than a little inspired by Bleach's Kenpachi Zaraki, who is suprisingly fast and agile for his size but doesn't have many skills beyond being incredibly capable physically.

I do find writing Bios hard and your versions do generally read better than mine. I'd be curious to see your takes on Scrapheaper and Flamedance's bios (the rest of my team currently waiting for me to figure out what they do in the new version of my team).

I'm not familiar with Warhammer, so my definition of "assassin" is still rather specific. As for beast modes and supercruise, I would gather a beast mode wouldn't lend itself too much to supersonic flight in general - but then, we are talking about sentient alien machines. ;)

Bleach is something else I'm not sure of; I was also taking my beliefs into account. I can understand being more agile in robot mode, that I can't imagine he'd be all that more agile with his mass - although I guess we could put it down to mass shifting.

I do find writing Bios hard and your versions do generally read better than mine. I'd be curious to see your takes on Scrapheaper and Flamedance's bios (the rest of my team currently waiting for me to figure out what they do in the new version of my team).

Everything's better with a second eye. I would be interested seeing what you have in mind for them. In the mean time, I think I'll work on a replacement for one of my team, a character tentatively named Wyldeshot.

Well, here's Scrapheaper and Flamedance. Scrapheaper I updated with Chillwind and Gorebash but held off posting. Flamedance's bio had a minor update, and I've just written an extended version.

Name: Scrapheaper
Allegiance: Autobot
Sub-Group: Retribution
Function: Scout
Transformation: Utahraptor

"Just die already."

Profile:
Hiding behind a snarling, beast like battle mask, Scrapheaper more than compensates with viciousness what she lacks in size and strength. The smallest of Retributions combatants, she was a violent and volatile element before she was exposed to an alien device found during a raid on a Decepticon scientific facility near the Sonic Wastes. Her reformatted body complements her disposition, jagged and aggressive. She serves as scout and infiltrator, locating installations for future elimination or resource appropriation. On the rare occasions that Retribution operate en mass she is typically teamed up with Gorebash and Gorozaurer, forming a potent, if small, strike force. Many Decepticons underestimate her due to her small size and find themselves overwhelmed by her assaults; like the rest of her unit she is a skilled combatant and adept at operating alone.

Abilities:
Subject is remarkably fast and agile, easily able to outmanoeuvre mechs significantly larger than herself, which is most combatants. She possesses mono-molecular edge claws in beast mode, and energon blades in robot mode. Subsequent to her exposure to the device labelled “transmetal driver” she has developed the ability to manipulate electromagnetic elements to create bursts of ‘lightning’ and limited invisibility.

Abilities:
For all her viciousness and abilities, Scrapheaper is small and not especially resilient; anyone able to withstand her assault can probably overpower her.

Name: Flamedance
Allegiance: Autobot
Sub-Group: Retribution
Function: Shocktrooper
Transformation: Dragon

“My heart is fire and fury; my wake ruin and ash.”

Profile:
Bringer of fire and destruction, Flamedance is vanguard for the devastation Retribution wish to wreak upon the Decepticon forces. Adept at the infiltration of enemy installations she positions herself to cause mayhem and carnage before other Autobot forces arrive in the area. She disgusts her allies as much as her enemies; her behaviour is bestial even in robot mode and she appears to delight in inflicting suffering upon those survive her initial attacks. She is known to lash out at any who interfere in her efforts, friend and foe alike, driving off allies who may try to steal her “prey”. Despite her animalistic behaviour there is clearly a dark and cunning intellect behind her optics, one that takes perverse delight in what she does.

Abilities:
Flamedance’s beast mode is invisible to sensors outside of the visible EM band. In beast mode she utilises as heat weapon that superheats atmospheric gases to over 5,000 degrees Celsius; this weapon causes a distinctive roaring sound. In both modes she employs diamond-tipped claws able to cut through most armours with ease. She is also virtually immune to the effects of high temperatures and heat-based weaponry.

Weakness:
Use of her heat ray or robot mode compromises her stealth abilities. Damage to her internal cooling system can render her heat ray inoperable, leaving Flamedance without her most powerful weapon.

Weapon: Lightning Rifle
Bio for a new character, Wyldeshot:

Name: Wyldeshot
Allegiance: Decepticon
Sub-Group: Eisen Dragoons
Function: Long/Medium Range Sniper
Transformation: König Wolf MKII Zoid
"One shot is sometimes all it takes."

Profile: Wlydeshot’s name can be a little misleading: he’s actually one of the best marksmen on either side of the war. He scored some of the highest marks in the history of the marksman course at the Darkmount Military Academy, earning his qualification badge as an expert, and even taught his spark twin Stratosphera what he knew. He was originally called “Crackshot” while he was at the Academy, but changed it before graduation when he learned there was another soldier who went by the name. He settled on the name “Wyldeshot” as a small means of misdirection, figuring that few would suspect that someone with his name would have any level of marksmanship. It seems to be working to a small degree; even a few of his fellow Decepticons are doubtful of his skills until he provides them with a demonstration, usually at the expense of an Autobot target. A cool, even-tempered customer, he takes great pride in his work, though he rarely shows it; he believes boasting about his abilities would invite bad karma. It’s a superstition that he clings to tightly and he’ll even go so far as to demean his own deeds slightly, often to the amusement of his teammates. He often works in concert with Stratosphera, using her enhanced sensors to extend his sniping range; oddly, though, they rarely interact off the battlefield outside of mission briefings. There doesn’t seem to be any hint of animosity between the two, leading many to wonder as to what could be going on.

Abilities: Wyldeshot has few equals when it comes to marksmanship: he can hit the center of a scraplet from a distance of 100 meters. His primary weapon is a large, double barreled sniper cannon that mounts on the back of his wolf mode and is usable as a two handed weapon in robot mode. The cannon is capable of single shot, semi-automatic, and fully automatic fire and uses shells that can pierce both armor and energy shielding when fired. He is equipped with specialized visors in each mode that enhance both his IR and low-light vision and gives him a telescopic sight of up to 7 kilometers, all of which he can electronically link to his primary weapon to aid his sniping abilities. In addition, he’s equipped with communications uplink equipment that allows him to interface with his spark sister Stratosphera or local satellites, increasing his range and accuracy. Each shoulder of his wolf mode is equipped with pair of rocket pods, each of which fires up to five armor-piercing missiles at one time. The two, double piped exhaust ports on his back can generate large clouds of white smoke that he can use to mask his escape. The ports convert into a pair of double barreled shot guns that serve as his secondary firearms in robot mode. His outer skin is covered in a thin layer of nanite-laden materials that allows him to change the color of his superstructure to match his general background. He can run at a top speed of 290km/h in wolf mode when the situation calls for it and he’s agile enough to evade an attack with seemingly little to no effort. He can use his razor-sharp claws and teeth to tear into an opponent’s armor in a pinch; these can be charged with electron-laced energy for provide added penetration power.

Weakness: Most of Wyldeshot’s weapons, especially his sniper cannon, are optimized of use over a certain range of distance and thus are not suitable for close quarters combat. Because his sniper cannon’s size and rather awkward construction, he need both of his hands or some sort of support stand to use it effectively in robot mode, which is one reason he usually only uses it in wolf mode. He only fires his cannon in its automatic setting as a last resort as it’s prone to overheat if used too long and he only has a limited supply of ammunition. His hand to hand fighting skills are limited to basic moves at best and he’s not the strongest of Transformers by any means. The large fan located between his shoulders is necessary to keep his systems at the optimum temperatures, especially in situations where he exerts himself, as he suffers from as yet to be determined flaw that causes him to overheat with that fan.

The trouble with basing characters on Zoids is that they often have a lot of weaponry and abilites, although information on both can be sporatic. Many of them can be depicted in the animated series and the toy line "battle stories" differently.

Weapon: Energy Blades

New bio for my namesake. Thus ends the easy re-writes, except maybe Deepdive. The remaining members of my team are currently requiring more thought to adjust to the new nature of the team.

Decepticon Intelligence Archive File #84070

Name: Kaijubot
Allegiance: Autobot
Sub-faction: Retribution
Function: Unit Commander
Transformation: “Unicronian” Dragon

"No one escapes retribution."

Profile:

It seems that Leo Prime and his “Maximals” have assembled a team of killers and monsters to rival the best of the Decepticons. Who better to lead them, then, than Death itself? Kaijubot is the worst kind of opponent a Decepticon can face: Relentless, unforgiving, intelligent and incredibly powerful. Facing him in battle is tantamount to suicide for most Transformers. Many would rather flee the battlefield than risk the prospect of trying to stop this monster. Worst for us is the effect he has on Autobot troops, instilling a determination in them that allows them to overcome odds and injuries. Like a Reaper in the material of a Transformer he stalks battlefields slaughtering anything foolish enough to present themselves as a target. Even when driven off, the survivors are usually left with the feeling that Kaijubot is merely biding his time before returning for them.

Addendum:
[Authored by Mindwipe, Decepticon Pretender]

I had the misfortune of encountering Kaijubot on the battlefield. His beast mode is not just a ‘dragon’; it’s the Beast of the Void, one of four Endbringers described in certain ancient texts. I can not believe it a coincidence, and dare not consider the implications.

Abilities:

Kaijubot is a physical powerhouse, vastly above the norm in terms of strength and endurance, and disturbingly agile for his size and apparent mass. Casually breaks through most physical barriers. Incredibly skilled in all forms of combat; only Gorebash is his rival within the unit. Possesses an entropic field that drains the energy from attacks directed at him. This also allows him to drain the energon from nearby Transformers and equipment. His internal systems include an internal spacebridge generator allowing for limited teleportation in battle. Prefers to wield a large energon sword in robot mode. Uses a gravity weapon that creates high pressure spheres that causes a targeted areas to collapse in on itself. Beast mode is able to supercruise at mach 1.2 and possesses teeth and claws of an unknown material; this material is able to rend through the strongest of alloys as though they were paper.

Weakness:

Subject displays no physical weaknesses and any psychological hindrances remain undetermined. The best strategies for overcoming his presence involve attempting to limit his influence on the battle while achieving other goals; ultimately, he can only be in one location at a given moment – keep him there and seek victory elsewhere.

And something I may or may not add to the team's bio. Still not decided, yet.

[From the files of Nightbeat, Autobot Investigator]

I knew Retribution were trouble.

I was asked to investigate the unit by members of the Autobot High Council, due to concerns regarding their wayward tendencies. No one believes that they would defect, but it is clear they do not hold with all of the High Council’s policies.

Leo Prime was willing to submit their official file, as shown.

Unit MX-Delta 21-A “Retribution”
*Details Classified.*

That’s it. There is no other data regarding them that I have been able to access on official servers. The unit is designated MX, which means they fall under Leo Prime’s “Maximal” programme. 21-A is unit number with the A signifying Auxilliary. Technically speaking, by this designation the unit are not a frontline combat unit. Of course, given the units tactics that makes a degree of sense. However, the lack of other data available is worrying.

And it is not just the unit entry that is missing. There is no sign of any requisition forms for equipment or a garrison assignment. The unit operates out of nowhere, it seems.

It gets worse. There is no trace of any of the unit aside from Gorebash prior to the squad’s inception. None of them exist. No one can pin point where or when Gigabite was constructed, worrying given the resources necessary to construct a Transformer of that size. There are plenty of rumours, but no hard data prior to the unit’s first operations. Leo Prime somehow acquired this squad from nowhere.

I am continuing this investigation as and when time permits given my other duties. A unit like this, even a classified unit, leaves more of a trace.

A bio for a new character I've created, Riptide:

Name: Riptide
Allegiance: Decepticon
Sub-Group: Eisen Dragoon
Function: Littoral and River Warfare
Transformation: Motor Torpedo Gunboat
Run silent, strike hard, and get out fast.

Profile: Autobot outposts along the rivers and coasts of various worlds aren’t safe when Riptide is on patrol. These environments are this stealthy Decepticon’s specialty, and she carries out her duties silently and to the fullest extent to her abilities. Her favorite and most effective tactic is to cruise silently as close to her target as she can, unleash the full onslaught of her arsenal, and then speed away before a counterattack can be mounted. These hit and run tactics often serve to unsettle the defenders, even if they don’t cause a great deal of damage, making it easier for the main force to overrun the position. For Riptide, attacking targets in or near shallow water is easy – it’s deep water she has problems with. She’s has an innate fear of deep water and will rarely enter any body where she can’t see the bottom. She’ll only enter such areas when she has no other choice, and even then it’s at full throttle. Despite a battery of tests, diagnostics, and research into her history, no one’s been able to determine the cause of this phobia. This fear only seems to abate when she’s paired up with a Decepticon who specializes in deep water operations, but only slightly. In fact, in such cases, her nervousness seems to refocus on the question of whether or not her partner will abandon her – not an unreasonable fear, give the less than altruistic motives of the average Decepticon. The only Decepticon who she seems to trust implicitly – or at least more than most – is her teammate Sea Wolf, who is also one of the few she gets along with outside of a combat setting, despite his perceived habits.

Abilities: In boat mode, Riptide is one of the fastest Transformers on the water, capable of reaching speeds of up to 40 knots in a straight path. Highly maneuverable, she can make extremely tight turns at high speed, making her a difficult and unpredictable opponent. Her hull draws less than three feet, allowing her to move in closer to shore and further up rivers that her comrades with larger water-going modes. The hull is also constructed out of a material that absorbs most sensor transmissions, reducing her return signature significantly. Her engines are equipped with special mufflers that reduce their ambient noise level when idle, helping her mask her position and listen for any enemies that might be nearby. For her size, she’s one of the most heavily armed Decepticons out there, making her just as capable of attack as she is at evasion. She’s equipped with a pair of dirge cannons on the bow of her hull in ship mode and on her back in robot mode that can blow a hole in the hull of a medium sized dreadnaught. The sides of her boat cabin and arms of her robot mode are outfitted with disruptor rifles that can punch through thin armor like it was paper and scramble the internal electronics of an opponent. She can carry up to four mini-torpedoes, two under each of the stabilizer fins on her hull, specially designed to operate in shallow water and against shallow hulled vessels. She can also deploy a payload of underwater mines in her wake; these mines are triggered when an unfamiliar spark signature passes them. In robot mode, she can operate at depths of up to 1500 meters and is surprisingly agile in this environment.

Weakness: Riptide’s fear of deep water is so entrenched that there is often very little anyone can do to coax her out of the shallows. Having Sea Wolf or another submariner around can help, but even then she’ll want to get back to element as fast as possible. She carries very little armor on her superstructure, especially along her hull. This is a weight saving measure that allows her to achieve her incredible speed, but it makes her vulnerable to even medium arms fire. She also has to be careful about turning while at high speed; if she turns too fast and too tightly she can capsize, exposing the unprotected underside of her hull. She can offset this vulnerability by deploying a set of stabilizing fins, but too much stress can cause even these to break.

To call Skystretcher a nerd would be inaccurate. He prefers to think of himself as "a socially impaired lover of technology". He has a few friends, but he spends most of his time surfing the internet in search of noobs to troll. Skystretcher had an unfortunate past. He was once a total noob fanboy going by the name of Technotube, proclaiming the awesomeness of anime, especially Gundam SEED. But then he ran into something horrible... A shock image. Forever changed by what he saw, Technotube developed a fondness for stretchy things and changed his name accordingly. Skystretcher then joined the ranks of Anonymous, dwelling in the dark depths of /b/. He has learned many things about hacking, cats, and the human anatomy. A seasoned (read: jaded) internet user, Skystretcher isn't afraid to run into a shock image. He practically welcomes it. Sometimes he even e-mails one to his good friend DDoS.

FUNCTION: LORD OF CHAOS

(from Unicrons Datatrax)

Unicron: (Narrating) He was the baddest motherf#cker that Bowels of Unicron had ever seen...
Colonel Mustard: Colonel H. Motherf#ckin' Mustard, holla at ya boy, I gets money!
Unicron: He trained like a beast...
Colonel Mustard: Ya'll gonna have to kick me out of this b!tch! I'm having the TIME OF MY LIFE!
Unicron: He was so bad, he even called me, Unicron himself, a...
Colonel Mustard: B!TCH @$$ N!66@!
Colonel Mustard: This is how you break your foot off in a motherf#cker's @$$! (He kicks through two energy hoops and smashes two circut panels) Hi-yaaah!
(Several Minnions encircle Mustard)
Colonel Mustard: Oooh! You cold-hearted n!66@ monsters gonna try to swarm on a n!66@, huh?!
(Mustard begins to beat the crap out of the minnions.)
Colonel Mustard: You just got a two-piece combo with a biscuit, ho!
Colonel Mustard: I gots me a cann-nin!! AAAAAAH!! Got ya, n!66@! I see ya, I see ya!

Unicron: Mustard, your heart of darkness has earned you a trip back, you have my blessings to exact vengance on the Autobots and to spread ignorance and chaos in the Decepticon community, they will be no match for you.
(Unicron Exhales Mustard and blasts him to Cyberton.)
Colonel Mustard: Unicron ain't sh!t! I'm gonna get you, Autobots!

Abilities: Subject possesses phenomenal physical strength and endurance, as well as great intelligence. when not focusing on his own immediate goals, he is an excellent military strategist and a fearsome soldier. In tank mode, he can convert the raw materials he runs over into projectiles, shooting them at targets like missiles. In robot mode, he wields a powerful gattling gun.

Weakness: Subjects focus on himself diminishes his focus on Decepticon goals. Subject is infuriated by organic creatures and refuses to use his tank mode's cannons on them, preferring to blast them from a distance.

Burn:Anyone notice how much of a boring party pooper N_V is? He doesn't join in the fun, he's spent the last few years with dodgy builds feeding XP to the Autobots, and he sure as heck doesn't spam.
