Just now realized that Mercury mistakenly has green hair (instead of blue) in that shirt picture. Someone else who ordered this shirt says that it looks even more green in person.

These come from the official Kodansha website.

Also, there's a preview of this new English manga here. This a different translation form the Tokyopop/Mixx version, and no other official English-language version has been made. Yet you can see that it uses the Japanese names in this translation.

Plus, explain all of the online retailers that have it available for pre-order.

Just because of a couple of banners on their site, the fact that they have a preview and it's available for pre-order doesn't mean it's scheduled to ship on the day they say so.

Besides, I base my knowledge of what's coming out by the list that gets posted on the Previews website on Wednesday. And according to the list they put up yesterday, neither one of them are coming out next week.

I figure it would, considering that it was available through their catalog, and would list it if they were going to carry it.

In any case, the Midtown list doesn't say they're coming out either, so it's a good bet they aren't.

This was actually the first series I watched after I learned what the term anime was. Back when it was on Toonami on weekdays. Still need to check out some of the manga.

SUCCESS! Went out to Barnes and Noble today and, at long last, picked up Volume 1 of both Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon and Codename: Sailor V from Kodansha! :grin:

Though, I went there yesterday too and they seemed to not have them then (their website said "Out of Stock" on both). This time, however, I called ahead to see if they had them and asked for them to hold one of each for me. I'm kicking myself for not having done that in the first place yesterday. :BANG_HEAD:

But anywho, I got'em and now you can too!

The translation of each is spot on and accurate, save for a select few quibbles (some of which I can get by and forgive, while other bits irk me to no end). No more dub names/terms. Yay! No more major Americanizations. YAY! They even kept the honorifics (for better or for worse).

Having said that, while these are not perfect and do contain a few flaws, they are still must haves. If you're a fan of Sailor Moon, GO GET THEM! :KREMZEEK:

I think I see the problem. You got them from a Barnes and Noble. That's a bookstore. They usually get stuff on time. I get my stuff from the comic shop. Their shipping is different, I guess. Looks like it's going to be a while before I get them.

You still claimed that they weren't coming this week at all, yet they did. You never specified that you were strictly referring to comic book stores.

On another note, there is a GREAT review of SM volume 1 here that I high recommend to those looking to pick this (and Sailor V) up.

Okay, finished volume one of Sailor Moon. A nostalgic trip for me, there.

Good improvements on the translation. I just started Sailor V. It's a good prequel. Maybe not quite as polished, but I still am gonna get it all.

Picked up volume one of Sailor Moon last week. It seems to contain the Acts that I had originally missed (I don't know if I've mentioned this before, but a library near where I lived had the original Manga run except for the first volume), along with a bit that I remember reading. It's interesting to read the new stuff, since it looks like these were adapted into episodes of the anime (the first act was, for sure).

Sailor V is arriving this week. Won't be able to buy it till Thursday, though. Gots to get paid first.
