I know alot of people werent too happy about Universe Ironhides blue face and windows,.. I was one of those people..

So, I gave them a lick of paint using Games Workshops Citadel Colours Polished Blue.

Also painted the face and thighs with Chainmail Silver and the shoulders in Chaos Black.

The windows could use a second coat just to neaten them up abit, but for now Im happy with it :)

I always thought the guy that turned into a firetruck should have a fireman's axe, long before they actually did it for Animated. But there was never one small enough to fit the original Inferno's hand or wrist socket.

With the new Classics version, I was finally able to make this work.
The axe was an extra weapon for the Xevoz Frankenpunker (dammit hasbro, why'd you have to cancel THAT good thing you had going) figure. I just trimmed and sanded down the end of the handle to fit Inferno's hand.

Picture didn't want to post right, so I just included the URL. Hoi.

Hmm, guess I never got around to posting this here...

copypasta:

Make U2.0 Treadbolt worth keeping

I removed a few pieces from the backpack assembly so that the two boosters can slip out Pic
And now He has two BFG's Pic
(figured it made as much sense as City Commander having that ridiculous gun)
Also his two little guns can now become shoulder cannons Pic
And now he has the ability to shot around corners and over walls Pic
Problem is that even though the boosters slip back into the backpack, they're incredibly loose. I plan on fixing that by putting magnets in each booster and in the backpack... just need to find some that are a)small enough b)strong enough c) easy to obtain d)bloody cheap

Since I wrote that, uhm elswhere, I've found some cheap rare earth magnets.
Basicly all you have to di is leave the screws in the peices that slip into the backpack and glue some small rare earth magnets to the little pillars inside the backpack (the ones where the screws that hold the backpack together come thru)
The result is that the boosters/guns are pretty solidly attached to the backpack when you want them to be but can easily be pulled out when you want to use them as handheld guns.
The opinions expressed in this post are well-reasoned and insightful.
Needless to say, they are not those of SEIBERTRON.COM, its staff members, or any other site lackeys.
Anyone who says otherwise is itching for a fight.

Hi, I got classics Ironhide, but unfortunately he's got a skyblue face! I'd like to repaint it to grey/silver/something more in line with the G1 Ironhide. I've never done anything to alter my Transformers before (excepting accidental damage), and am just wondering what type of paint would be recommendable? I'm looking for brands more than colouring I suppose. Hope I'm not bringing up an old topic, searched the thread for ironhide and it turned up nothing

Hi Lonewyrm,

Silver is always a good choice for TF faces. Go to your nearest Games Workshop and ask for Mithril Silver and grab a brush or two while you're there. It's water-based paint so there's no need to mess around with methylated spirits or turps or whatever.

Painting the face should be pretty easy, you can unscrew the little screw at the back of the head to make it really easy so there's no chance of getting silver paint on his eyes, or you could just do what I do and carefully remove any silver you accidentally get on other areas with a modelling knife.

Good luck!

Thanks Oilspill, I'll go hunting for some of that paint tomorrow. I just this instant saw LeoKaiser's post on this exact topic on the previous page, it didn't turn up when I searched the thread, dunno how I missed it :?

This should be a very minor mod, but does anyone have any tips for getting Hound's shoulder missile to stay on properly?

I find I can get it to stay on, but not pointing straight, if I point it straight then it falls off at the slightest touch - which I assume is not just a problem with my Hound.
Anyone have any useful tips/pics?

Anyhoo, I don't want the site bogged down with umpteen billion versions of Classics and the Minor mods done to paint or mold so I thought we could round all those little doggies here.

Here is my take on SS so far. Still have a couple more paint touchups to do but otherwise he's on the right track.

Next on my list? Megatron...who else? Once I get a Secondary version I'd like to make a Classics Browning as well.

Feel free to show off your minor Classics mods here and feel free to talk about what you did.

If anyone has any questions i'll do my best to answer them as well.

This is still so freaking cool!

Motto: "Those foolish enough to face me are lucky to survive, even if they only lose a arm."
Weapon: Automatic Acid-Pellet Gun
Finally fixed a nasty problem with Classics Deluxe 2 pack Megatron. The claw on his right arm is notorious for falling of while the spin function is going on. :-x

I fixed the problem by carefully figuring out where to drill and installed two small screws that fit just deep enough on both sides.

The "arm surgery" went well with no fractures or signs of stress marks and the connection isn't not loose at all. In fact it's more like a fresh unposed balljoint meaning the claw can be posed at ease if i want it to.

I'll post my own picture later with the mod when i have fresh camera batteries but this borrowed gallery picture shows the affected figure.(no copyright infringement intended.)

Now megatron can fight prime with rotating attacks without losing his claw. :CON:
