Unless Optimus grants him a temporary Prime stauts like he did to Jack, enabling Magnus to wield the Forge and use it to bang Optimus into a new body. :BLACKEYE:

You know, there's something that bugs me. "Prime" status is pretty flimsy. Somehow it's both a granted title, and yet Megatron was able to make himself a Prime by grafting parts onto himself. And somehow the Relics are smart enough to recognize someone being called a Prime, and and yet not smart enough to recognize someone who isn't a Prime but cut off the arm of one and grafted it onto himself. And I know you could say it's because of being a Matrix Bearer, and that information is retained in the corpse...well, except Solus Prime wasn't a Matrix Bearer, Prima was, and yet she could still use her own hammer.

Oh no, I very much agree that Megatron thinking he could trick the Forge into mistaking him for a Prime by cutting off the arm of a dead Prime and attaching it to himself, and that that plan actually worked, was mindbogglingly nonsensical.

That should NOT have worked considering how the dead Prime was, you know, DEAD, making him/her no longer being a Prime since there can only be ONE Prime at a time in the continuity.

The Jack thing I can buy, but the dead Prime arm getting the Forge to work was going to far.

If not for the how being a Prime was already established in previous Aligned fiction, I'd call Megatron's scheme with the arm utterly brilliant. But since it flies in the face of all that's come before it in setting up the nature of the Prime title, it comes off as being a proverbial middle finger to all of that in hopes of invalidating any arguments against it with a "Dark Star Saber made from Dark Energon". :HEADHURTS:

Ok, any bots or cons seen the first three episodes of tfp beast hunters? i just saw them on youtube and as we heard from the tv spots that there will be a new prime, as Optimus, himself said. but the ending to episode three of beast hunters was a real shock to me. it completely blew my predictions for the new prime out of the water, i was expecting Ultra Magnus, or even Rodimus, it was niether of them. if any of you saw the singapore special on youtube, then you know who i'm refering to. of all autobots, that guy? how does he have what it takes to be a prime? i mean come on, man. g1 Rodimus would've been a better choice, but him? Earth is sooooooo scrapped. :BANG_HEAD:

In case you haven't noticed, he pretty much is this show's answer to Hot Rod. A rambunctious Autobot youth who turns into a sportscar, disobeys orders, yet shows qualities of a prodigy and comes from a prestigious background of having been part of the Elite Guard and mentored by Optimus's old mentor Alpha Trion. He couldn't have been more obvious if he had been painted red with yellow flames. :P

However, an interview with Peter Cullen from the season 3 red carptet event reveals that, "Despite all the trials and tribulations, [Optimus] gets back on his feet, which is a great message. Always coming back. Always surviving. Always being strong. Always being your best." Thus, Optimus probably won't be dying off anytime soon.

I saw the first 3 episodes but I wasn't surprised at all that Smokescreen is the new prime given the amount of screentime he got in season 2, him saying "I knew I was destined for great things." and given the condition Optimus is in.

It was just all too clear that SS was gonna be named the next prime

but I think Smokescreen is gonna rebuild optimus with the forge and instead of rebuilding the omega lock but I have doubts that there is absoulutly no way to re-energize the forge.

You might remember Hot Rod as being that stupid kid who ignored orders, tried to bum rush Megatron, and in doing so got Optimus Prime killed.

I just hope that rumors of Vechicons turning into tanks is true. After all, Con's now are'nt hiding from humans, so they can use some heavy hitters.

There is never enough tanks in Transformers!

What rumors? Tank-moded Vehicons, as well as helicopter and truck versions, were made for the Prime video game, but not the cartoon.

We truly are in dire need of more Vehicon variations. And toys of said variations while we're at it.

One can never have too many Steves generic henchmen. Though I dare say we'll never see them in the show because of how many new transformation models they'd need.

If they already have design, then why don't use them? Con's could really use some groud based elite-mooks, especialy now, when Insecticons seems to have their best days passed long ago.

Because there's a huge difference between a design and a model. They have the former. To put them in the show would require the latter.

Not to mention that "they" are two separate groups. The people who animate the show aren't the same group who animated the video game.

Yeah, with that preview that had Optimus saying something about a new prime (haven't watched the third episode, so I don't know how much is revealed), I was thinking Magnus might "become" a Prime. I also didn't know if he was already ranked higher than Optimus or anything in this universe, like in Animated. Haven't read any comics. Though I do remember seeing a comic that had him holding the forge on the cover?

No Ultra Magnus was one Optimus' lieutenant during the war for cybertron but Optimus was still the leader/supreme commander.

Yeah, and it wasn't a comic, but the Exodus novel, that first established this Ultra Magnus as having served beneath Optimus in the war.

Not our fault they haven't. TFWiki's alreayd gone and covered info on all three episodes anyway. People are still talking about it online and stuff. Unless there's some legit reason they can't, they should go ahead and watch it already. 8)
[/quote]
Okay, I take objection to this point. I deliberately avoided this thread for the last three weeks due to rampant spoilers and preferring to watch the premiere episodes on US TV. Just because it premiered early in Singapore does not mean I should be required to have seen it and have its material treated as non-spoiler info prior to its US premiere.

Now, as all three episodes have aired in the states, information from them is more or less fair game. So let's address some things.

I noticed when I was catching up on this thread that somebody said the premiere felt rushed. I can see how you would get that watching the episodes back to back, but week by week the pacing seemed okay. Yes, Ratchet was only a loner for about 10 minutes, but we didn't see him at all in episode 53, so just reappearing at all, and then being obstinate at first, was pretty dramatic. I do agree that Predaking should have been the cliffhanger for ep 53 going into 54 rather than Shockwave, in a show called BEAST Hunters, but we've got him now. Hopefully we get more Predacons. I know they sad at NYCC last year that we wouldn't be seeing all the ones that are toys on the show, but I'm crossing my fingers for a few of them.

Contrarily to some, I hope we see Optimus in his new body sooner rather than later. Let the Smokescreenimus Prime thing play out quickly and give us what we all know is coming because they don't dare kill off Optimus. I don't mind if Smokescreenimus Prime stays around in that form, like how I think Headmasters had Rodimus Prime and Optimus Prime at the same time, but don't beat around the bush too long before giving us the new and improved Optimus. Especially now that Ultra Magnus is in the show and clearly uses a modified version of his character model. >_>

Speaking of Magnus, I liked him more or less. His voice was higher than I expected. He is so "by the book" it's not even funny (yes it is). I look forward to seeing how he and the other 'bots play off each other.

Starscream is starting to annoy me. I thought he learned his lesson with Dreadwing, but apparently his personality will always shine through. He wants to be Megatron's number 2 so badly, but Shockwave is a much better choice. And so he's jealous. He tries to belittle Shockwave at every turn, and it keeps backfiring on him. Regarding that scene at the end of episode 55, where he was taunting Predaking, I fully expect that Predaking is, in fact, sentient and will try to tear Starscream a new exhaust port before the end of the show for that comment. Also he'll probably betray Shockwave and the Decepticons as per the toy fiction.

Whatever happens, I look forward to seeing how it plays out over the next ten episodes. Make it grand, guys!

Oy vey. Episode 18 aired on Vortexx and, while it only had four edits, they were some rather frustrating ones, nonetheless.

1. First and foremost, the new commercial break was the FIRST edit this time, playing ahead of all the preexisting break placements. This one played immediately after Airachnid chuckled while picking up the Polarity Gauntlet after she buried Breakdown.

2. However, that isn't the extent of what was changed at that part. Right after the new commercial break ended, instead of coming back to right after her chuckle, it came back a few frames later, cutting out Airachnid's line of "It was a lovely burial," and her turning around to start walking away. With that removed, the episode instead came back to Airachnid already walking off before we hear the buried Breakdown growling and Airachnid proceeding to mock his muffled speech.

3. The scene with Bulkhead and Miko turning off their loud music and Arcee scolding them was really trimmed down. Right after Bulkhead switched off the music, they cut out Miko's "Aww!", Arcee's line of "A scout should be silent but deadly," Miko and Bulkhead giggling at her for having said that, Arcee's confused "What?", and Bulkhead's response of "'Silent but deadly' means something completely different on Earth," before resuming with Miko saying, "Bulk, let's get our recon on!" However, in the midst of all that was cut, they inserted a shot of Arcee looking confused that was taken from right after she asked "What?", making the whole scene go from the music shutting off, to Arcee looking puzzled, to Miko's line.

4. Airachnid's line to Arcee of "You brought a new partner for me to snuff!" had the "for me to snuff" part cut out, ending the line at "partner" instead.

Also, during the end credits, the preview that played for next week's episode advertised episode 20, instead of 19. Does this mean... are really going to SKIP episode 19 altogether?!!

That would be really strange, since episode 19 has Starscream's defection, leading to him pleading to join the Autobots in episode 20. Maybe it's just a mistake?

19 is the one where they all get stuck in a cave. 20 is the one where Starscream tries and fails to join the Autobots.

Yuo said 19 had his defection, which didn't come until 20. He was all Decepticon in 19.
