We'll know eventually if the Rescue Bots meet up with the cast of Prime once S2 of RB comes on.

I was thinking. Do you think Arcee should have killed Airachnid in the episode Armada? It would't have made a difference anyway if she did seeing as how the Insecticons would've still joined Megatron anyway but some people are saying Arcee had the right to kill her there but was played by Airachnid to let her live due to morality clouding her judgement.

No, because then we wouldn't have got Airachnid's nosferatu upgrade.

And we all know just how necessary that was.

But I do agree that killing her would have been wrong.

I guess you could make the arguement that there was no need to kill Airachnid since she was trapped in the pod for a good long time. However Arcee wouldn't kill her out of vengence this time around though since she's gotten over the need to kill her not to mention it would've ended Airachnid's reign of terror. It would've prevented Airachnid to becoming a vampire near the end of the series. I may be thinking too deep into it though.

So my copy of "The Art of Prime" arrived yesterday and I've spent some time looking through it today.
So far much more satisfying than the Covenant.

Yo remember how the Covenant states that the arm Megatron uses to wield the Forge was Liege Maximo's? Turns out that that's a retcon, the concept sketches in the book refer to it as "Sentinel Prime's arm".

Also, a few other neat little titbit for those who don't have it, Cliffjumper was originally designed to transform into a compact car similar in design to his G1 cartoon appearance, the designer wanted him to be very G1, but then he was told that the Rock was going to voice him now and he should change him into a muscle car since that would better fit his new VA. There wasn't enough time to change much, so he just designed a new alt-mode and a few little things on the bot-mode, which shows why there are so many round forms on his bot-mode that don't translate into the car mode, since he wasn't designed to transform into that.

Starscream's "All Hail Starscream" dance was unscripted and something the animators just did for laughs, the production team decided to leave it in because it was "hilarious, and so Starscream".

Megatron was originally going to be based on his Movie design, and was supposed to have all these twisted metal parts digging into his body and growing out of other body parts to reflect him having suffered in the past. But then they scraped that and opted to redesign the G1 design.

Also, the entire aesthetic of the show is based around Optimus Prime, kinda like Bulkhead was for Animated.

Oh and it smells gooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooood. :x

TFWiki had a big discussion about that, with them ultimately going with it being Maximo's arm because:
  • The Covenant's claim was written from an in-universe perspective (with the Alpha Trion himself making the claim) while the Art of Prime's claim was written as an out-of-universe tiny image caption (another of which on the same page identifies Megatron's sword as the "Dark Saber" instead of the name Megatron himself gave it: "Dark Star Saber")
  • The nature of a Prime as spelled out by the Covenant makes Sentinel Zeta having never been an authentic Prime, having only been one secularly rather than spiritually, meaning he wouldn't have had any of the mystical Prime powers and couldn't have used the Forge's power.

I don't care, all I did was share a neat little bit of trivia that shows how stuff changes. Another neat little titbit to consider is this, it can't be Sentinel Prime's arm, nor can it be Liege Maximo's, because well, it's red. Sentinel was blue, and Liege Maximo was green.

Another thing to consider is this, Megatron talked of that Prime grave like it was a well known site, while Alpha Trion states the grave was secrete, unmarked and that Megatron came by it by chance. So it would make more sense if it was the arm of one of the elected Primes, since then there would be zero doubt about the existence of the original 13 Primes, instead of them being so old and forgotten that they're regarded as myths.

On top of that, when Optimus was dieing, he stated the Matrix regarded Smokescreen as being a worthy choice as Prime, and he did use the Forge to rebuild.
So there is the show that shows us that "elected Primes" are regarded as real Primes.

God, that stupid "Thirteen" retcon is f**king stupid.

But he is still based on Movie Megatron, he's Alt Mode, big size, and spikes are all thanks to Movie Megatron.

Big size?

What do you mean 'big size?!'

Megatrons are almost classically huge.

Prime Megatron is also based on G1 Megatron. His color scheme, bucket helmet, and fusion cannon are all taken from that incarnation. He's also got the exact same voice actor, so...

Did I EVER say he is not? Just like in Animated, he essentialy is a mix of G1 Megatron and Movieverse Megatron in term of physical apperance.

Megatrons are almost classically huge.
But still, in G1 and RiD he wasn't that big, at least not so big by Optimus Prime point of view.

When I read that bit that Dead Metal mentioned, I took it as meaning that Prime Megatron was originally going to be more based on Movie Megatron than he ended up being, in that he might have been less smooth and even more spikey than he is now.

The creators probably see more of G1 Megs in his design than they do of Movie Megatron because of how smooth Prime Megatron's look is, as opposed to being more completely rigid and skeletal like Movie Megatron is.

But he is still based on Movie Megatron, he's Alt Mode, big size, and spikes are all thanks to Movie Megatron.

He is based on G1 Megatron, here's the full quote:

Jose Lopez wrote:Megatron went through a lot of changes. Originally, we wanted to borrow designs from the movie version. We saw him as a tortured soul, twisted metal into his body and coming out elsewhere. He didn't have the anatomical breaks that our guys have, which is a guy in armor. At some point we said let's forget the movie stuff and just do our own thing.

Then I went back to looking at Megatron from G1. If you look at the legs, the way the shins curve in and out and the back of the leg, the cannon on the arm, the bucket head, even things like the position of the the emblem on his chest and the little cuts on his ribcage, all those elements are still there.

From the sound of that Megatron would have just been a mutated mess of metal parts randomly sticking out. And as a result would have looked terrible.

Good catch BeastProwl. I've seen that intro so many times now and never noticed that! :D

So I've seen Conan the Barbarian (the old one) again yesterday and realized something.
I think Prime/ Aligned Megatron may have been based on Conan, well at least the movie version.

Both grew up in slavery, both ended up as gladiators, both educated themselves during their time as gladiators, both discover in the arena that they are worth something, and both end up crowning themselves as king.
Also, both are built like sh*thouses and have a sword :P

Pretty cool actually.

I wouldn't be surprised if James Hill took inspiration from Conan when he wrote the original gladiator origin story of G1 Megatron, "State Games", for Marvel UK.
