In the scene of Predaking's return to the citadel/tower/fort/thing, when Starscream is taunting it by calling it a 'mute beast', something definitely stirs in the creature. :-?

I noted that too. and episode 56 IS titled "Rebellion" that could mean we have a rogue Predaking on our hands.

With the whole "knows to keep his mouth shut" gag going on, I'm kinda disappointed Predaking didn't transform right there and then and repeat that line again.

Thrilled Shockwave's back, and glad he got so much screentime. David Sobolov's actually growing on me a bit, as I initially hated casting Depth Charge as Shockwave, but the voice works much better than I thought after its been processed.

Also glad to see Ultra Magnusprovide a ship, and for Ratchet, Bumblebee and Raf to use the Harbinger as a temporary base of operations. The show's use of continuity here is great, even if it's pretty clear the Autobots are still pretty monumentally boned.

Sad about certain ambiguities. If UM is leader of the Wreckers, why hadn't Bulkhead met him yet?

Alas, poor Laserbeak. Hope he's not gonna die and get replaced by Ravage.

That said, I wish the US airing had been a three part production like the Singapore premiere, but it's currently scheduled to run only one episode at a time... now the wait for new eps will be that much harder.

Oh, and...

Same reason Smokescreen hadn't met Optimus although he's the leader of the Autobots. Bulkhead said it was an "honor," so he had to know who he was.

Granted, it's certainly plausible, but it does seem odd Bulkhead never met the Wreckers leader before. I guess in the Aligned continuity the Wreckers aren't as close knit as they have been in previous incarnations. Maybe they're large enough to be a sub-faction rather than a single unit.

Another possibility is that Ultra Magnus assumed command after Bulkhead had left and Wheeljack had been seperated from the wreckers. It's already cannon that Bulk left for team prime well before Jackie and the wreckers were scattered for awhile.

According the novels, Magnus was definitely in command during the time that bulkhead would have served in the Wreckers, as Bulkhead left Cybertron aboard the Ark, and Magnus was in command of the Wreckers both before and after the Ark launch, having been one of the group's founding members.

I'm just hoping that Bulkhead meant "It's an honor" to be in Maguns' presence or to serve with Magnus once again or something.

Ultra Magnus was leader of the Wreckers during the War. Bulkhead was one of the very last to board the Ark and join what would become "Team Prime," which was toward the "end" of the war. Therefore, Bulkhead had to be serving the Wreckers while Ultra Magnus was in command.

PrymeStriker wrote:That's kind of what I wanted. One way or the other I suppose, but I would've preferred Shockwave die and let the Shockwave this season be one of his many avatars across Cybertron, or the Shockwave from "Out of the Past" be an avatar and the original Shockwave come in this season.
Thing is, Shockwave being able to be killed without actually dying thanks having multiple avatars would feel like a cop-out to those who hadn't read "Rage of the Dinobots". I myself kinda found it to feel a bit like a cheat when I read it, as it made Shockwave's not-death feel more like a hollow attempt of being dramatic just for the sake of it.

Didn't say so. Just said that a nice big bonk could "beat" him, not "kill" him. ;)

Yeah, it's basically like if G1 Megatron, after having changed bodies so many times, suddenly once said, "Why would I ever want to go back to being a handgun? That was a stupid altmode that I never want to turn into ever again." :P

Is no one really going to comment on the fact that Shockwave's antennae move like an insect's? :(

No no no, they're cute. I think he's beating Starscream so far in terms of crush-character/voice. Image

I was too busy staring at his massive red eye to notice. ;)

But to further antagonize...

Am I the only one who laments Laserbeak's apparent demise? :-(

I'm sure you not the only one but I don't care to much for Lazerbeak or any of Soundwave's mini-cons in any series, and we really didn't see much of him in the series to begin with.

Dude, use the spoiler tags. The ep hasn't even aired in the US yet.

Question for those in the know: Is Grimlock really coming to the last season of Prime, or is the rumor just based on the idea Gregg Berger was confirmed to be voicing a character?

Here is yet another upload of the special. Sounds like this one has some audio issues too, but here it is:

I don't know if I said this before, and I'm not looking back through documents to check, but Prowl's "upcoming" Deluxe figure activated my thoughts. I see a lot of potential for Prowl to land a spot in the series before the end.

He has a CGI model and [will have] two toys. Granted, Ironhide has the same (though it's concept art instead of an actual model) and yet the writers will forbid him from making any debut. However, Prowl has Smokescreen's model available to him. All you need to do is change the torso & head and give him rocket launchers. But why would they slightly alter an existing model and make it a new character, right?

He could show up for a reason. Maybe the "scattered to the winds" Ark crew mention during the premiere was foreshadowing for him to debut. Perhaps he's been looking for the others (Ironhide, Perceptor, Silverbolt, etc.).

Then again, the two toys that Prowl has could be strictly for the Universe MMO, so there are factors against it. I'd like to see it, though. To have all five of Optimus' original space bridge crew from Animated in Prime at the same time (busted a rhyme) would be really cool.

Not a bad point. It would be pretty cool to see Prowl make it into the third season. I'm just gonna sit back and see how the premiere episode plays out before I get TOO excited.

That's a good idea. But knowing me and what I've seen of season 3 so far, I'm going to be all giddy and stuff as it starts
