Hell in a Cell 1998 was on the King of the Ring set.

Also, having looked at the full list of contents, I've come to the decision that I must own this set.

Hell in a Cell 1998 was on the King of the Ring set.

And it was also on the HiaC set and Mick Foley's set as well, but I wouldn't have minded it be on this one, it's one of the signature moments of the Era.

Also, having looked at the full list of contents, I've come to the decision that I must own this set.

Oh yeah, I'm definitely getting the Blu Ray, I don't wanna miss any of it. I was just bummed about the This is Your Life missing. I mean, I saw it live, and I remember it well, so it's not like I'm missing out, but still. It was a big moment and it should have been included.

I remember awhile back there were complaints of the same matches appearing over and over. Perhaps that's why certain matches aren't here

Picked up the Attitude Era set today, and I gotta tell ya, it felt like I took a time machine back to my teenage years, because all the memories of that era came flooding back to me. This is when I came into wrestling, and for me, it's pretty much the era that defined me as a fan.

And again, it's real nice to see it uncensored without any blurring or audio bleeps. :)

I picked up the blu-ray set, and watched it almost in 1 sitting, with a 4 hour break between the 2 discs. It was good, everything on there was relevant. I already remembered most of the moments, as I used to videotape some segments (Austin's and Rock's mainly) every Monday and Thursday night. I had 9 VHS tapes full of that stuff from December 1997 to March 2001. Too bad I lost them when I moved in 2005, they would have been great to keep around. The only complaint I have of this set is that they could have put more stuff on there that was memorable. But, I have no problem with anything that's on there now. With the nWo set that came out 2 weeks ago and this, I pretty much have my wrestling heyday covered. I became a fan in 1996, so I still got a taste of the "old" style, but the Attitude Era was the big deal. I remember, I quit watching after 2001 when Austin became a heel, and never really kept up with it regularly since. I usually watch from the Royal Rumble to WrestleMania and then get away from it until the next RR. I haven't missed much.

My only problem with it is the fact that several things that I would have liked to see (the unholy union between Stephanie and the Undertaker in particular) are Blu-Ray exclusives only. While this might want me to finally buy one, I shouldn't feel I have to in order to get what is essentially the same content just because it has a few extra bits.

Yeah, I guess it's all about marketing. I have a PS3 and watch blu-rays on that. I think they're worth it. They look an sound better and are just a few dollars more.

...I didn't realise it had been nearly five years since this thread was used, BUT ... I can't be the only one on this site that still watches this stuff.

And by stuff I mean Raw. I can't be bothered with Smackdown because ... Cena.

So ... this weeks Raw was bland. Wrestlemania is actually shaping up to be pretty lacklustre. After Raw this week I would much rather see a Undertaker/Braun match than a Undertaker/Roman match.

Goldberg/Lesnar may be a good match, though it baffles me why Heyman insists on saying Goldberg is Lesnars bitch just from one F5 when Goldberg has dominated Lesnar since returning a few months ago.

The only other Raw match that has my interest is the Fatal Four way for the Womens Title. Hopefully the women will put on a good match, and hopefully a face comes out as champ so that they can be interrupted on Raw by Emma.

Or we'll be stuck with another 6 months of vignettes for her. :-P

Did someone say wrestling?

I hardly watch RAW because I don't like Roman one bit. Especially not after the rumble. I do watch a few matches but skip over the wrestlers I don't like because I don't feel like becoming a saltasaurus rex.

I'm kinda meh on Mania too. I don't care about Lesnar or Goldberg. One's a part timer and Goldberg hasn't even had a match that lasts more than 5 minutes.

I kinda wanna see Nia Jax destroy everyone in the fatal four way as if it were a women's rumble.

I am praying to the wrestling gods that Undertaker demolishes Roman haha. That would make me very happy.

Ambrose vs Baron Corbin might be entertaining, I also hope Bray Wyatt retains the title. I enjoy the spooky angles.

Watch Smackdown it's 12446665444 times better than Raw. The writing is so much better.

The tag line should be:
Eat
Sleep
Destroy Raw
Repeat.

Yeah, he's the reason I quit watching regularly as well. It's a shame, because Smackdown is a 1000 times better than Raw.

I'm actually excited for WrestleMania and the Hall of Fame this year. Last year both shows were very disappointing, so hopefully this year they turn it up. The HOF lineup is actually very good.

Goldberg and Lesnar were never a good fit, because Goldberg can't wrestle for ****. He just simply can't keep up with Lesnar, that's why their previous matches have gone the way they have.

Cena's a bit player right now. He's not his normal overwhelming self, he's facing the Miz, I know where this is probably going but I'm enjoying the "Lost Episodes " from Total Bella's.

I think for me the excitement of Wrestlemania this year comes from the potential. The rumors of Nakamura and Asuka being called up to the main roster, the possibility of the Hardys returning, Angle becoming RAW general manager among other things. Plus there's a few matches that should be pretty good even if the build up hasn't been.

And hey, if you're feeling underwhelmed by RAW or Smackdown give NXT a try. The matches are solid and there's no messy behind the Cena scenes politicking.

If you don't mind indy wrestling you can watch WCPW on YouTube (either on the WhatCulture Wrestling channel or the WCPW channel, they can't decide where to upload these). Production values are low as expected, but they've got a lot of major names in the indy scene like Cody Rhodes, Drew Galloway (MacIntyre), Ricochet, Zack Sabre Jr., Will Ospreay, and Bullet Club/Young Bucks making their rounds there. Plus they were the last stop for Noam Dar (on 205 Live) and Big Damo (Killian Dain on NXT) before signing with WWE, not to mention Kurt Angle before leaving to return to WWE. It's worth a watch for some free wrestling.

When the day comes that my download limit is upped from 100gb I'll watch NXT on a regular basis. For now I just stick to the Takeover specials. Mini-PPV's in themselves. (And often better than a single brand PPV)

From a battle royal, to ladders, to a wedding proposal, to Suplex City ... before ending with a gong for what is obviously a final time.

There were some great matches (Raw Tag Team, HHH/Seth) and some incredibly boring ones (Wyatt/Orton).

And I'm sure I'm not alone in being unhappy that Reigns beat Undertaker, but it was obviously a way for him to "pass the torch". Though if they do anything other than turn Reigns heel at this point, they'd be stupid.

I will say that I agree with you on pretty much all of what you said. I am not sure Taker will be retiring, people have said that for ages now and for him to retire after tonight I think would be a bad move.

I am too salty for words about Roman. Over the past 2 years I have tried to give him the benifit of the doubt. This was the final straw. I thought that I would eventually grow to like Roman if he improved and they did something good with his character. I'm going to stop talking before I go into a rant about how much I cannot stand Roman.

If I had a Roman Reigns action figure I would blow it up with fire crackers right now! :michaelbay:

I don't recall him putting his entrance gear back on to leave the ring. When he was removing his hat for a brief moment you could see him choke up.

Leaving his gear in the ring like that is symbolic. It stayed there well after the arena was empty and they only removed it when it came to dismantle the ring.

Plus ... the gongs. I don't recall them ever sounding after he's left the arena.

That was a retirement. Losing the Reigns was "passing the yard".

I never really had a problem with him, but ever since his Wellness Policy violation and he came back and pretty continued to get pushed, I soured on him.

There's nothing special about his character. There's nothing special about his wrestling. His matches are nothing special, they follow the same formula.

There was another guy like that, called John Cena. We don't want to see another Cena.

I'll believe it when I see an official statement by Taker. I don't want to get any more worked up over this than I already am. If it is true this is the WORST possible way for him to retire. I think he should have retired a champ or at least with a win.

I have been a wrestling fan for 2 years. I admit I don't know as much as those who have been watching for their whole lives but to sum up my experience with Roman it has been this:

Night of Champions 2015 was my first PPV. I was not around for The Shield but I knew that people did like them. I have since watched their matches but at the time all I knew was that Seth had betrayed Roman and Dean. I get they were working an angle where he would beat Seth for the WHC.

However Seth got injured and Roman had some random fueds. I found him boring and would skip over his matches. By Dec of 2015 I was sick of him and almost stopped watching WWE. I think I took like a month off while he was champ. I got pulled back in by my other favorites.

When he got suspended in 2016 I was kind of glad they put him on the back burner. I was trying to give him the benefit of the doubt thinking hey, if they don't push him too hard and change his character up he might be pretty cool. I actually do like him in ring.

(I'm not going to get into my thoughts on what he was banned for, but I will say that I am very much against substance abuse)

They kept pushing and pushing and having him feud with random people and managed to make KO's championship run kinda sour because he had to be feuding with Roman. It was the same 4 guys fighting each week. Bleh.

The whole feud with Taker is just the worst ending. Anything would be better than this. I know Taker has total control over his character and he should know that this doesn't help get Roman over, just helps to bury him. I tried to overlook his faults for so long and this is unforgivable in my eyes. I think after 2 years of having an open mind and then he does this to my favorite wrestler I have earned the right to dislike him if I so choose. I'm not going to hate on anyone for liking him of course. It is my right to dislike him just as much as it is someone else's to like him.

Felt good to get that off my chest.
