Meh, I've learned to ignore it. It's still noticeable when a doc features old footage that's not available in widescreen, and the screen goes from full to wide and back, but otherwise it's easily overlooked, for me anyway.

I just put the third disc in to watch the match from Raw, and they use the normal WWF scratch logo watermark for it. Good to know, though it still doesn't explain why they use the bolded WWE logo for the No Way Out footage.

It might have to do with when the ban on their use of WWF exactly went into effect. I know it was early 2002, so maybe it happened between those 2 shows?

No Way Out was in Feburary. That match from Raw was in March.

Who knows. I did miss a few things that I thought should have been on the set:

-Nash powerbombing Bischoff through the stage at Great American Bash
-Luger beating Hogan on Nitro
-Goldberg beating Hogan on Nitro

and I'm not even to their WWE stuff yet.

I'm pretty sure that at least one of those (Goldberg beating Hogan) is on the Best of Nitro set.

I'm not getting that set, there's too much junk on it. And now that Linda lost the Senate race (again) hopefully she'll give up and the WWE can loosen up a little bit again. I'm tired of this Mickey Mouse crap.

Maybe so, but it also has the first (and quite probably only) DVD appearance of Chris Benoit since the murder-suicide. Of course, there's still no mention of his name, but it was still surprising to me that Vince signed off on that footage. (Of course, his appearances revolved around the reformation of the Horsemen and Ric Flair beating Bischoff to get the Presidency of WCW, both of which were important, so I guess they felt they HAD to include it, regardless of how they felt about him being there.)

I'll be happy if they can stop shoving Shreeky Guerrero down my throat. My dislike of her has long since passed the point where I'm hating the actual person more than the character they play, and whenever I watch these days (which isn't often anyway), I always change the channel whenever she shows up.

In other news, they released the cover art for the WWE Attitude set today (so I guess it's still gonna happen). It's an homage to the cover of the Beatles' "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" album, with the majority of the superstars of the era covered.

Not bad, but there's still no contact description. the set comes out in 2 weeks! Hopefully it'll be strictly WWE from 1998-2004. That's what I consider the height of the Attitude Era, though I think it may stretch as far as early 2007, when there was still blood in the matches.

Officially, the Attitude era began in November 1997 (after Survivor Series), and more or less came to an end around Wrestlemania X-Seven, once the Monday Night War was over. So I'm pretty sure whatever's going to be on the set (which I'm sure they'll announce over the upcoming weekend) will be from around that period.

So Lawler returned to Raw tonight, which you would think would be awesome. And yeah, it was awesome...

...till CM Punk arrived, and basically went after Lawler again like he had been before the whole thing went down, as if nothing had happened.

Now, I have to believe that CM Punk the person actually doesn't feel that way in real life, but I honestly wanted to change the channel during that whole thing. I mean, let's face it. WWE has been guilty of a lot of stupid things, but I think that was, beyond any shadow of a doubt, the dumbest thing they've ever done. And when you consider some of the things they've done...

I also have to wonder about who on the creative team signed off on that...

I don't think it was the dumbest thing ever. They've done some really dumb **** before. I knew there was gonna be something, they couldn't just let Lawler have a good moment and sit down at the announcers' table. But it was kind of mild, compared to what I was expecting. Also, when they showed backstage footage of Lawler being worked on, it occurred to me that this could actually be an elaborate angle, that it was all a work, but I'm not so sure.

Seeing the more adult-themed direction Cena has gone in regarding AJ, and having the ambulance present (symbolizing imminent serious injury on TV) during the Ryback-Maddox match, it's good to see they're taking a small step away from the kiddie-friendly PG crap. Who knows, maybe they will loosen up a bit, and we'll get to see some serious stuff soon. I can't even remember the last time I saw a chairshot on Raw. Nevermind to the head, but even to the back. When was the last time they destroyed the announcers' tables on TV?

And that actually surprised me, that Maddox didn't win. I was sure they would pull some lame crap with CM Punk or something. Even after, I thought they would overturn the decision and award the match to Maddox because Ryback beat his ass all the way back to the ambulance.

Overall, this was a good Raw. Better than the last few weeks. And is The Miz finally getting his overdue face turn? I've been cheering for him since he beat Cena at WMXXVII. Even if it was due to the Rock.

I was thinking the same thing as I saw the backstage footage. I don't know the laws in Montreal but if a Dr. says if you don't belong here to leave, you leave, or you could be breaking the law. Last time I checked camera men aren't necessary in a medical room

Um...yeah. They could have. The guy almost died. Apparently, if we're to believe it, he did die, and we should all be thankful that Lawler was even there, instead of turning it into a stupid angle that's only going to alienate people in the long run.

I watched the RAW when it happened, but not to the point when Lawler had his heart attack, so I don’t know how things played out. I did hear Michael Cole’s announcement from the end of the show on the radio the next day, and it didn’t sound to me like it was a angle. (It wouldn't have been on the radio, for one thing...)

Considering it was a real life situation, I think it was important for the WWE to show us that.

No to be too off topic, but whatever happened to Luther Reigns?

Also, Amazon finally listed the contents of the Attitude Era set. NO "This is Your Life" segment! What the hell? It's the highest rated segment in the history of wrestling, IIRC, and no mention of it? WOW. Also, no Empty Arena Match or Hell in a Cell 1998? But we get D-Lo vs. Jeff Jarrett from SummerSlam. Wonderful. :?

Hell in a Cell 1998 was on the King of the Ring set.

Also, having looked at the full list of contents, I've come to the decision that I must own this set.

And it was also on the HiaC set and Mick Foley's set as well, but I wouldn't have minded it be on this one, it's one of the signature moments of the Era.

Oh yeah, I'm definitely getting the Blu Ray, I don't wanna miss any of it. I was just bummed about the This is Your Life missing. I mean, I saw it live, and I remember it well, so it's not like I'm missing out, but still. It was a big moment and it should have been included.

I remember awhile back there were complaints of the same matches appearing over and over. Perhaps that's why certain matches aren't here

Picked up the Attitude Era set today, and I gotta tell ya, it felt like I took a time machine back to my teenage years, because all the memories of that era came flooding back to me. This is when I came into wrestling, and for me, it's pretty much the era that defined me as a fan.

And again, it's real nice to see it uncensored without any blurring or audio bleeps. :)

I picked up the blu-ray set, and watched it almost in 1 sitting, with a 4 hour break between the 2 discs. It was good, everything on there was relevant. I already remembered most of the moments, as I used to videotape some segments (Austin's and Rock's mainly) every Monday and Thursday night. I had 9 VHS tapes full of that stuff from December 1997 to March 2001. Too bad I lost them when I moved in 2005, they would have been great to keep around. The only complaint I have of this set is that they could have put more stuff on there that was memorable. But, I have no problem with anything that's on there now. With the nWo set that came out 2 weeks ago and this, I pretty much have my wrestling heyday covered. I became a fan in 1996, so I still got a taste of the "old" style, but the Attitude Era was the big deal. I remember, I quit watching after 2001 when Austin became a heel, and never really kept up with it regularly since. I usually watch from the Royal Rumble to WrestleMania and then get away from it until the next RR. I haven't missed much.

My only problem with it is the fact that several things that I would have liked to see (the unholy union between Stephanie and the Undertaker in particular) are Blu-Ray exclusives only. While this might want me to finally buy one, I shouldn't feel I have to in order to get what is essentially the same content just because it has a few extra bits.

Yeah, I guess it's all about marketing. I have a PS3 and watch blu-rays on that. I think they're worth it. They look an sound better and are just a few dollars more.

...I didn't realise it had been nearly five years since this thread was used, BUT ... I can't be the only one on this site that still watches this stuff.

And by stuff I mean Raw. I can't be bothered with Smackdown because ... Cena.

So ... this weeks Raw was bland. Wrestlemania is actually shaping up to be pretty lacklustre. After Raw this week I would much rather see a Undertaker/Braun match than a Undertaker/Roman match.

Goldberg/Lesnar may be a good match, though it baffles me why Heyman insists on saying Goldberg is Lesnars bitch just from one F5 when Goldberg has dominated Lesnar since returning a few months ago.

The only other Raw match that has my interest is the Fatal Four way for the Womens Title. Hopefully the women will put on a good match, and hopefully a face comes out as champ so that they can be interrupted on Raw by Emma.

Or we'll be stuck with another 6 months of vignettes for her. :-P

Did someone say wrestling?

I hardly watch RAW because I don't like Roman one bit. Especially not after the rumble. I do watch a few matches but skip over the wrestlers I don't like because I don't feel like becoming a saltasaurus rex.

I'm kinda meh on Mania too. I don't care about Lesnar or Goldberg. One's a part timer and Goldberg hasn't even had a match that lasts more than 5 minutes.

I kinda wanna see Nia Jax destroy everyone in the fatal four way as if it were a women's rumble.

I am praying to the wrestling gods that Undertaker demolishes Roman haha. That would make me very happy.

Ambrose vs Baron Corbin might be entertaining, I also hope Bray Wyatt retains the title. I enjoy the spooky angles.
