THE ROOM MY WIFE LOST!

So the wife and I moved and we had an extra room....
So, I'm a G1 fanatic although I have figures from every series. I laid out my 16' x 8' G1 shelf by year and faction and am currently about 13 figures shy of a complete '84 to '90 collection. There is only a small office rollie chair in the room, which I use at my converted closet custom work area. I even have some pics of the move and my attempt to organize boxes for storage. What a mess...

Thanks Bro! You know my struggle with space all too well. It's been alot of fun setting this up.

Tell us how much fun you had getting the room organized - I assume it was somewhat satisfactory?

Fun does not quite cover it. I laid out my G1 shelves in my living room and measured out required display space. The classics Decepticon shelf was a blast too. I suppose it was sufficient enjoyment for a weekend.

How much time would you spend cleaning your displays? Would you do a wall at a time? 'bots one day , 'cons the next? What's your routine for maintaining such an immense collection?

Actually, it's self cleaning. Kinda. Whenever a new figure comes in, I usually bring out related figures. I.e. repainted versions of the same mold, previous incarnations of the character, or team mates, or arch rivals. Like when TF Prime Wheeljack came in, I got all of my Wheeljacks down and compared and contrasted. Basically played with them. Transformed them all and dusted them, and after a few days, I place them back on the shelf and added Jack to the "Prime" shrine. God forbid a new Optimus comes in the mail...

Very impressive. Must have taken a lot of time and a lot of fun to set this up. Takes a lot of dedication, patience and wallet. Good job.

Thanks friend! I know it's not the biggest baddest collection of all time, but it has been a fun ride. So many figures in that room have their own story and circumstance. Many have come from friends, colleagues and fellow collectors. It's as much a collection as it is a tribute to the diversity passion and ingenuity of the fans and designers alike.

Thanks friend. I try to keep the focus of the room on G1 US figures, but SO much badassary has been unleashed lately that its getting harder to justify the space dedication. Thanks for checking it out!

Thanks Va'al! I've since added another shelf around the entire of the room and 2 more of the glass Detolf's shelves. I'll be ready to add a new pic or two as soon as my LED tape lighting kit arrives for the interior glass shelving units! I do so much enjoy my little collection!

Thanks friend! I've added several hundred more figs since these photos. Also added two more glass cases to the center of the room. I hope one day to have professional glass shelving installed but until then, adjustable brackets will have to work. "Dusting" one figure a night or so keeps me appreciative and helps me weed out figures that are not the important to me. I'm currrently filling boxes with less important bots' and con's in order to better present my fav's. Thanks for checking it out!
