My favorite childhood memory of Transformers was the first time my dad rented Transformers: The Movie on VHS. My whole family watched and we all had a good time (though I'm sure my parents probably hated it, but they knew me and my brothers would love it). At the end we all danced to the closing credits music.

favorite transformers memory is the marvel comics! circuit breaker scared the hell outta me in the 8th issue and later stories featuring ratchet versus megatron, roadbuster the micromaster, and nightbeat cemented those characters as major player for me as well as made me realize the unique natures of each individual robot.

My favorite memory is the playing outside after seeing the original animated Transformers movie. I kept singing "The Touch" no matter what game/toys my friends and I were playing with...

1984 was the year of toys. My sister wanted a Cabbage Patch Doll with red pig tails and my mom had everyone and the dog looking for one. I wanted a Transformer and I was told that a) I was too old for toys (I was 10 at the time) and b) Transformers were for boys. A year later I found a very beat up Jazz and Wheeljack at a garage sale that my mother was fond of dragging us around to, and I spent my $3 and got my first two Transformers with my mom complaining the entire time. I still have them (and a lot more now), and Jazz and Wheeljack and I had a lot of adventures growing up. I was always afraid mom would throw them out when I wasn't looking. Transformers aren't just for boys!

My favorite memory is when I was in the third grade, around 1984 Transformers had just come out here and if you had some you were sooo popular. My best friend at the time had most of the major ones ie Optimus, Megatron, Omega Supreme, Devastator, Superion, Menasor etc. Whenever I went to his house that is what I wanted to play with first

I remember, as a kid, ninja turtles were the hot thing. Though, me and my friend still liked our transformers too.
So, we were playing and a transformer visited the ninja turtles. It then came up with a way to transform the ninja turtles into transformers.
I dont remember who became what, but a blue transformer for leonardo, a red one for ralph.
We had so much fun doing this crossover. It was epic, with shredder teaming up with decepticons.
It of course ended with the turtles sharing pizza with the transformers.

I have a lot of fond memories since TF was my favorite cartoon growing up. In August of 1986 my dad took me to see TFTM for my 10th birthday. (So you know I was very pleased to go to the 25th Anniv. screening at the Aero in Santa Monica last month!). Other standout memories include racing home from school to catch G1 episodes, opening Prime for the first time at Christmas, and cutting the tech specs off of each and every box & card and making my own stickers from the remains of the sheet to put on figures. (Now I'm kicking myself for cutting up the G1 boxes I still have now!!)

My memory is when I was 7, Transformers were expensive and I had only been given three over the years. (Twin Twist, Scrapper and Slag) I was playing in the forest at the edge of my school and saw something a little odd, a red square in the leaf litter. It was the roof and windscreen of G1 Smokescreen. I noticed bits of wood chips around and climbed up the steep bank where they had been coming from. Eroding out of the bottom edge of the pit where we did long and high jump was another piece of Smokescreen. I dug around for the better part of an hour, trying to find all the bits. I never found the rear windows or the doors.
I took the parts home, completely dismantled it with my Dads jewellers set, cleaned the rusty screws, and put Smokescreen back together again. I loved (and still love, he stands next to my minty Encore Smokescreen) that toy, and was so proud of myself for rescuing him.

Years later I became an archaeologist, and I sometimes wonder if that was the beginning of it all, lol.

I remember that first Christmas after Transformers came out and how the only thing I wanted was Prime. Opening that last present and seeing him in the box caused me to pass out. I hit my head on the coffe table. I still have a scar and a great story to go with it.

Well, I guess I'll have a kick at it, just to see if I win. ;)

I think my earliest Transformers memory would have to have been when I was 5, about 11 years ago. I was sitting in my aunt's living room watching Cartoon Network, when the opening credits for Transformers: Armada came on. It was the episode with the Mini-Con in the subterranean temple in the Egyptian desert. Being a history geek and all, I couldn't help but watch. It was here that I fell in love with probably one of my all-time favorites; Demolisher the anti-air tank. As a matter of fact, I believe it was Demolisher himself that actually got me hooked onto Transformer collecting. To this day, he still has a prominent spot among my Armada shelf. ;)
