I know it's a necrobump, which is weird because this is a thread about Skyrim and you'd think people would talk about it more. I just wanted to share that I now own Skyrim. Just got back from the store, bought it brand new for PS3 because my PC isn't good enough. (I am aware of the problems Skyrim experiences on PS3, I choose to ignore them)

Unfortunately, as part of the Faustian deal I made to get it, I can't actually play it until Sunday. Still, though, I am more than excited to put buckets on people's heads and taking arrows to the knee.

Last night, as I was just starting up Skyrim last night (I have altered the deal, pray I don't alter it any further) I told my dad that I had no intention of sleeping.

He thought I was joking.

I wasn't joking.

And so far it blows Oblivion out of the water.

Mind-blowingly awesome.

It couldn't hurt but it's not really needed. All you need to know is that, after Oblivion, the Empire no longer has a true Emperor, and is falling apart. The rest they'll explain in-game, and anything else you could just look up.

I just finished it last night, well finished the main quest and the other faction quests. I made almost the same character that I had in Obliviion (a Khajiit archer/thief/assassin and played most of the game on expert dificulty.

In Oblivion, I made god tier armor and weapons. Maybe I missed it somewhere, but even with both Smithing and Enchanting maxed out my gear was nowhere near what I could previously make.

After spending over 200 hours on the game I decided to just finish it up. I was expecting the final boss to be a bad ass cat eating machine. The sad part you ask? The bastard went down in five arrows, not even making use of a lot of the equipment I had created.

I was expecting it's corpse to raise from the ground for some epic fight, but nothing ever happened.

All in all though, I haven't had this level of enjoyment from a game in a long, long, LONG time. Half of the glitches I ran into weren't game breaking, they were just funny. Random bandits, giants, and all other sorts of beasts just plummeting form the sky. (I'm thinking they pissed off a dragon somewhere :D )

One of the Dark Brotherhood quests I was following my mark waiting for him to find an inn or some other place where I could off him in his sleep. I followed him for three days in game time, just then an Ancient Dragon picked up my target and flew away. I never did find his corpse and I had to load a previous save.

Now, on to a new character...

That isn't the one where you have to kill Gaius Maro is it? You can taunt him into fighting you in Whiterun's pub on Turdas at night, it won't even count as a murder.

Whiterun was exactly where I killed him. I think thats the only place he sleeps alone. I don't quite recall what the bonus was for not offing him on the road was but I didn't think it was worth the extra effort.
