*SPOILERS*

Ya...Smallville rocks. I finally got caught up, but man...can't believe they had so many deathes in the season 6 finale. I mean, Chloe, Lana (course who knows, that truck that drove by was very convenient). And Clark flies in the next season, right? Oh, and we're supposed to see him in the suit, it'll be sweet.

I do believe that Lana jumped on that van to fake her death. Too bad--she's always been the worst part of thge show. It's Chloe I didn't want to see die.

This season finale pretty much sucked, except for Bizarro. That was just awesome, and a twist I did not see coming.

as finales go I think SV had the weakest Didn't Lana Die 2 years ago. And that line "I'm like you only more Bizarre" the lamest Villian line in modern history. Am I the only one who wants to see a alien invasion helmed by Darksied. People Complain about Spiderman Being too emo but 75% of the shows spent with clark pineing on and over lana, now if she stays dead maybe he can focus on growing the F up.

I agree, it seems that since Pa Kent died, the series just gets darker and darker.
This could work if it were a show about young Batman, but when did the writers sit down and say "You know what this show needs? To be darker and edgier. That's what people think about when they see Superman, right? dark and edgy?"

I second this. As much as i like dark and edgy, it is not how i want to picture the S-man or atleast his Smallville series youthful Kryptonian counter. I'ld rather be thinking of bullet proof applepie on an American flag next to a hotdog and a spade or nudered golden retriever.

I don't think it's really getting dark, except where it needs to be. Lex needs to be a dark character, I mean...this is the one incarnation of Lex I really see as a great bad guy. While Chloe is a cool character, she needed to die so Lois could become Clark's main focus. I wanted them to get rid of Lana...but I don't think they needed to kill her (and they probably didn't). But Clark...I bet in the next season we'll see him become that beacon of light we know superman to be.

It has been ten years since the Smallville TV series first aired (2001), and now, after the ten long and dramatic seasons, it has, at long last, come to a close.

Tonight, the series finale aired on television... and I just got done watching it!

WARNING: SPOILERS BELOW!!!

     Holy Texas-slaughtered-cow-on-a-bun, THAT WAS AWESOOOOOOOME!!!!!!!!

It was amazing! After ten years Clark Kent finally took his last steps to become Superman! The moment he finally donned the suit, I could have just died from the sheer epicness of it all! And Lex Luthor lives again! Yay! 8) 8) 8)

Still, there were a few anti-climatic/deus ex machina instances that had me feel disappointed, but I guess I could understand that they had to fit it all into just two ~40 minute long episodes. Despite how some of it felt abrupt and crammed in, it was all still just so epic!

And the end credits... they played the classic iconic John Williams Superman theme, along with the the text shooting out at the the audience in a similar style to the openeing credits of Superman: The Movie, Superman II, and Superman Returns. I loved it! I absolutely loved it! :D :D :D :D :D

END OF SPOILERS

Did anyone else watch it?

I watched it and thought it was good, but it could have been better. They should have done some of it in the previous episode or just not at all. Lois questioning the wedding and Clark having to come to terms about the Kent's and Jor-El took too much of the time and there wasn't enough action. I would give it a nine.

Oh, yes! I agree with the above and more. There was definitely room for improvement. IMO, it should have been a three-parter.

I didn't like how Darkseid and the Unholy Trinity were beaten so swiftly. They all deserved epic fight scenes, or at least Darkseid did. Or, after Clark flew through Lionel's body, Darkseid should have reanimated himself to fight Clark directly in the form that he took when he took Lionel's soul. Yet, he just disintegrated into a puff of smoke like the other three did. And how exactly could Oliver's arrows do that to them? :???:

And the Planet Apokolips simply being pushed away felt like a rush job done at the last minute. Maybe it could have simply returned to it previous location by itself after Darkseid had been beaten in a more dignified way.

And most importantly of all... we never got to see a good look at Tom Welling in the Superman suit! :BOOM: I wanted to see him wear it so bad, yet we only got close ups of his head/shoulders and far away shots of him that were more likely just CGI images. I wanted to see at least one full body shot of him in the suit striking a dynamic pose, without any obstructions. And yet, we only got bits & piece and some far off CG shots. :BANG_HEAD:

But aside from these nitpicks of mine, it was great. :D

It was garbage. Any good parts were overshadowed by the crap that was "blink and you'll miss him beating the big bad"

I was all excited for it to but the ending just left a bad taste in my mouth because of all that.

I think the finale of Smallville could've had less talking and more action. However, Smallville is one of those shows that focus mostly on the drama and dialogue between characters. In fact, it's probably the only superhero show that has the least amount of action per episode that I've ever seen. I guess it wasn't meant to be an action series...I always felt like it was just another "One Tree Hill" show that consisted of MOSTLY talking talking talking. And plus, they would've had to pay more money to get more special effects which they probably didn't want. That's why the producers didn't have many huge epic fight scenes. Yesterday, they didn't even show a lot of clear shots of Clark in the suit! The more explosive/intense scenes would probably make more sense if the show revolved around thee SUPERMAN like in the movies and not about the process of Clark Kent becoming the hero he was destined to be. Maybe they should invest in a new series like that. But for now, if you want action, watch Nikita or Supernatural on the CW. :D

I do have to admit...when I first watched Smallville in its beginning seasons, I couldn't see Tom Welling as Superman. Nor could I see that Erica Durance as Lois. As they got into the later seasons and developed their relationship, I started to accept them as those characters way more. It's crazy..but the writers/producers/everyone who worked on the show did an extremely good job at it. That last scene of the finale...when it showed Clark trip on the floor along with Lois in the Daily Planet...and the appearance of Jimmy Olsen too..it just makes it all the more believable. It's too bad we won't see these actors/actresses portraying these characters further..in a story that many of us want to see: The story of Superman as he fights evil villains and saves the people of Metropolis. Oh well, they'll be saving that for the new Superman film reboot xD.

Whoa, thread necromancy!

I figured the Darkseid fight would be anticlimatic, since every finale showdown with a big bad has been disappointing due to budget. Doomsday? Lost in an abandoned power plant. Zod in Lex's body? THat was so boring I don't even remember it. Bizarro? Eh. But when Clark pushed Apocalypse into space, that's when I rolled my eyes.

I waited TEN YEARS and THEY DIDN'T EVEN GIVE US A DECENT SHOT OF TOM WELLING IN THE FREAKING COSTUME! Damn them! DAMN THEM ALL TO HADES! I can only surmise that Welling looked too funky in tights with his big head and they decided to avoid a full-on shot as much as possible. It felt like a giant "F U" to the people who stuck with the show for the entire decade.

Basically a "scream at the TV" episode, in true Smallville tradition.

Does anyone know how many episodes this series had?

So I started watching Smallville and I just finished season 3. All I got to say is !!!!!!??! I know some of you are kind of dissapointed with the show but I'm no fanboy and I really think this show is really good even though I already know the ending. No I didn't cheat by watching the end of the series. It's just common sense that Clark becomes Superman, Lex becomes evil and yada yada yada... There were so many Superman references in season 1

So, Erica Durance and Tom Welling (Lois and Clark on Smallville) will be reprising their iconic roles on this winters CWverse Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover.

I’m very excited.
