Hot Spot could tell that his shots were having some effect on the Decepticon, even if it was a relatively minor one. He knew that he would need whatever edge he could get against Motormaster. He had hoped to soften him up as much as possible with his guns, know that the Stunticon leader only possessed a single rifle. It probably wouldn’t account for much damage but it would help in the long run.

The Protectobot did have some concern for the rest of his team. Not really knowing them that well but being thrust into battle alongside them like this was definitely a risky proposition, but he had little choice. They were all Autobots, experienced ones. He would just have to trust in that to carry them through the battle. Hopefully without Motormaster barking orders at them and threatening them they would be a far less cohesive and motivated fighting force.

That was one of the primary reasons he had decided to take on Motormaster by himself. Keeping him occupied kept him from giving orders and made sure he couldn’t engage any of the other Autobots with him. He knew that of the Autobots in this little group he was the only one who could go toe to toe with the Stunticon leader. This wasn’t ego or pride speaking either, it was a fact. He wasn’t going to let another Autobot take a beating at the hands of this lunatic when he could simply take him on himself.

Hot Spot’s barrage of fire was interrupted when Motormaster ripped some sort of pole out of the ground and hurled it at him. The Protectobot was able to duck below the improvised weapon, but it gave the Stunticon a moment’s break from the attack and an opportunity to charge in at him. There wasn’t enough time for Hot Spot to level his guns at him. Instead he tried to move out of the way and kick out at Motormaster as he charged past. He wasn’t exactly the most agile of Autobots, but hopefully he could get in some sort of blow on the crazed Decepticon thug.

Abandoned Drive-in Theater

Still aching, Hound came about, to face the rest of the battlefield. He saw Smokescreed lead Wildrider off, leaving just him and Breakdown in this sector.

"Ok, lessee if you and my friends can pay you back for smashing in my rear fender." The holographic Sideswipe and Sunstreaker moved to flank the scout, as all three transferred and fired their shoulder rockets. The three missiles flew at Breakdown, two merely convincing fakes, one quite real.

Breakdown had taken a moment to let Wildrider take advantage ebfore joining in. However, that ahd een spoiled by the autobot, Smokescreen, who had driven his comrade off. This left Breakdown with no choice but to handle things himself. Luckily, he ahd taken a few moments to notice things. First, the other two Autobots suppsesdly accompaneying Hound seemed to suddenly stop. Unless Widlrider or Megatron was experimenting with some form of temporal weaponry he didn't know about, he had to conclude they were holograms. Secondly, they didn't seem in too much a hurry to aid their comrade. Finally, he had eaerd of the two particular Autobots, Sideswipe and Sunstreaker and from their reputaiton, these two seemed rather quiet for two bots that were either joking around or so concerned about their physical apeparance.

Hound had Breakdown surrounded with the two holograms and himself. While he thought to call Hound out on using the same two holograms, he could play along. He simply had to rememeber that only firepower coming in Hounds direction was real. If he could take down Hound, he could assist Motormaster with that pest, Hotspot that made it his business to follow them all the way to this mudball of a planet.

>>"Uhoh... guess I bit off more than I could chew." he commented, though not being sincere in his comment. He charged at Hound as the scout and his friends opened fire on him. He swerves to avoid the "missiles" fired by the holograms and then transformed, leaping into the air and firing is gun at the remaining missle from Hound. He quickly blew up the missile. The momentum sent him towards the ground. He took a roll and transformed, and put on the gas as he sped at Hound at ramming speed.

Drag Strip kept firing his plasma energy blaster even after Hex avoided several of his shots with a backwards handspring maneuver. "Nice, but fancy moves won't save you from me, Autobot!" Drag shouted as he unleashed more laser fire at the retreating mech, who was now running towards the wooded area at the back of the drive-in. Slaggit! Not again. Can't these 'bots stay out of the damn woods? The yellow Stunticon thought as Hex disappeared into the trees.

Drag Strip quickly followed, approaching the wooded area with caution. He stopped several yards from the borderline, scanning for any signs of his opponent. He couldn't see too far in as the trees were very thick at that particular spot, but Drag quickly discovered that he did have one advantage. Looking down at the ground, he spotted a trail of energon leading into the woods ahead. Drag had, in fact, scored a hit on his Autobot prey. Excellent! It'll lead me right to him! The former racer readied his weapon and followed the glowing purple trail of fluid into the wooded area.

Drag Strip's pace slowed as the density of the trees around him increased. Near the center of the thicket, the yellow speedster found the end of the energon trail at the base of a large tree. However, he did not find the Autobot. "Where are you, coward?! Come out come out wherever you are!" Drag shouted as his optics kept watch for the slightest movement. Then he felt something wet drip onto his shoulder. At first Drag thought it was just water from the moisture of the surrounding plant life and paid it no mind. However, when more dripped down onto his arm, he looked over and saw that it wasn't water but the unmistakable purple visage of energon. So, that's where you went!

Drag Strip brought his blaster to bear and quickly spun around, looking up into the branches above where Hex was hiding. But, before Drag was able to get off a single shot, a sleek metallic arrow pierced through his left shoulder, causing him to stumble backwards and fall into the brush under him. "Arrrggghhh! You slagger!" Drag shouted as a terrible pain radiated down through his arm. As much as the wound hurt, the yellow Stunticon managed to aim his weapon with his other, good arm and return fire, blasting away at the large tree. Drag hoped he would either hit the young Autobot or do enough damage to the tree, itself, to bring it down along with Hex in the process.

Abandoned Drive in Theater

Hah! He’d done it - gotten close enough to strike without eating a blast from those nasty fireball guns at close range. Motormaster drew back, intending to drive his fist into Hot Spot’s face when the Protectobot leader lurched to the side and kicked out. The blow didn’t have much of Hot Spot’s prodigious strength behind it, and didn’t do much damage on its’ own, but his foot did get tangled in Motormaster’s legs, sending both mechs tumbling to the ground in a sprawl.

Motormaster landed with a thunderous boom. The collision sounded like a horrendous car crash. Of course, a semi truck slamming at high speed into a fire truck did make a cacophonous noise. The Stunticon leader kicked out to free his legs and dove again at Hot Spot. He was no master of Crystalocution, but he’d spent more than his share of time in the pits, and if he could get his hands around Hot Spots neck, he knew the fight was as good as over.

The wreckage of the concession stand wasn’t the greatest of cover, but it was enough to shield him from the blast of Smokescreen’s electro-disruptor. The blast would have wreaked havoc with Wildrider’s circuits, but didn’t even scorch the wood and metal of the rubble he hid behind. Wildrider snapped off a few more blasts of his own as Smokescreen charged across the empty space and took cover behind the restrooms.

What the pit is a restroom? Wildrider thought, but all curiosity fled with the appearance of a missile headed strait for him. He leapt from the rubble and had taken two steps when the missile hit the wreckage behind him. The resulting shockwave sent Wildrider flying through the air and pelted him with debris. He landed hard and skidded across the ground scouring his paint and leaving him dazed.

With a grunt of supreme effort, he managed to roll to his back and bring his weapon to bear. He wasn’t even aiming to hit at this point, just trying to keep Smokescreen pinned down long enough to regain his senses.

Hound had expected Breakdown to either get hit, to swerve, or to back off. He certainly hadn't expected the Stunticon to accelerate into the missile barrage, shoot down his missile and keep going. "Woah!! You guys are even crazier than I thought!!" And better!! To see my missile in the hologram barrage is no mean feat, to shoot it incredible!!

Thinking fast, Hound also transforms and drives towards the Decepticon, turning off the holograms and replacing them with a virtual smoke screen, enveloping both vehicles. He then swerves under the cover of the holofield. I know where the field ends, he doesn't!! I can get some distance while he gets lost!!

Breakdown found himself now covered in a smokescreen. This was rather impressive, though most likely a hologram created by Houndp Hey, it's not my fault you couldn't keep your stupid holograms running when I got ya! Besides, once I figured that out, it was easy to tell which way the missile was coming from. It's what some creatures call 'common sense.'" he said, trying to locate a possible source of origin.

He needed to find a means passed this one. For all he knew, that foolish Autobot was standing right in front of him. He reved his engines as he spead forward, though he could not find Hound. He was certain he was faster than the scout. He hit his breaks and tried another direciton. He had to be close by. This wasn't right. There was no way this Autobto could project such a sizable hologram. He needed another set of eyes. He opened his comm to the other Stunticons.

>>"Hey guys! He's got me in some sort of a holographic fog. I can't see a thing! Can somone tell me where he is? I'm flashing my brights!"<<, he said to the others, hoping one of them had adecent view and opening to tell him. He activated his brights, blinking them for a point of reference.

Hot Spot was happy to see his little move succeed in landing a solid blow on the menacing Stunticon. Unfortunately the attack also resulted in him becoming entangled with Motormaster, sending both of the Transformers crashing to the ground in a heap with a thunderous crash. There was a mad scramble as the two mechs fought to disentangle themselves and get back to their feet. They each knew that whoever got back up first was likely to have a decisive advantage in the rest of the battle.

Fortunately the Protectobot leader was quick to get back on his feet, fast enough to brace himself a bit for Motormaster’s next attack. The Stunticon leader lunged at him, his hands reaching for his throat. Hot Spot was able to catch his hands before they could wrap around his throat, cutting off the power supply to his neural circuitry. Now the two of them were caught in a pushing match as their hands were locked together.

Hot Spot had known going in that this would be an ugly battle. He was always willing to push harder and farther then any other Autobot. This battle was going to take all of that and more if he wanted to put down Motormaster and his gang of thugs for good. The Autobot lashed out with his right leg, aiming a kick squarely at Motormaster’s left knee. If it meant playing a little dirty to win this fight, then so be it.

The two titans shoved back and forth, very evenly matched, neither could gain much of an advantage. The whine of their servos was audible from halfway across the lot. It was only a matter of time before something, some little slip, gave one of them the edge. Unfortunately for Motormaster, Hot Spot found that edge, kicking out at the Stunticon’s knee.

No matter how heavily armored the rest of him was, there was only so much that could be done with the joints. The armor on Motormaster’s chest could withstand a blast from just about anything short of Megatron’s canon, but the his moving parts were, by necessity, much less protected. Where his chest, or even his shins would have taken the impact from Hot Spot’s kick with little more than a scuff, Motormaster’s knee joint crumpled like tin foil.

The Stunticon leader bellowed in rage and pain and fell forward. Despite his injury, he kept the presence of mind to grab Hot Spot’s shoulders to prevent a full collapse. He knew he was hurt, and in a bad position to boot, so he did the only thing he could – he drove his forehead into Hot Spot’s nose with all the force he could muster.

Smokescreen watched as Wildrider was hurled through the air from the explosive force of his missile. The terrorist landed a good distance from the concession stand and skidded to a halt. Wasting no time, the diversion expert brought up his rifle and opened fire on the wounded Stunticon. However, his attack was short lived as Wildrider shot back, forcing Smokey to take cover behind the restrooms again. Some of the lasers struck the brick structure, blasting away bits and pieces of it, while others simply missed their mark entirely. It was apparent to Smokey that Wildrider was still disoriented from the explosion and was merely trying to keep the red and blue racer pinned down. So far, the terrorist’s plan was working.

Time for a new strategy before my cover crumbles into dust, Smokescreen thought as he transformed into race car mode and sped out away from the restrooms. The diversion expert zoomed towards Wildrider as a pair of laser blasts struck his hood, causing only minor damage. “What’s the matter Wildrider? You seem a bit confused. Allow me to help make your confusion even worse!” Smokey taunted as he suddenly altered his course and began driving in a circle around the dazed Stunticon. The red and blue Autobot then unleashed his signature cloud of magnetic smoke which quickly surrounded the terrorist.

After making one last pass around Wildrider, Smokescreen broke off his attack and sped a short distance away. He then returned to robot mode and readied his rifle, watching the smoke cloud carefully for any signs of his Stunticon rival.
