Fair point. I let common sense prevail and I realized (when I read the thread with the new posts) that this will just continue and rather than close it/them/all and give no one a voice, might as well leave this one open and let everyone post what they hear and we'll go from there.

That way they can voice their opinions, still share what they've heard (or more likely conceived) and it can be discussed.

I am no expert at these things, but I think right now is a bit too early for any kind of rumours of what the TF5 will be like. Since AOE is just finishing it's run (unless it has already) then it should take a while until we'll start getting any CREDIBLE information.

I mean, are they even sure of what the story will feature at this point? I can't imagine there even being a story right now.

I’m a huge Hot Rod fan. Do you have a chance to bring Hot Rod in at some point?

What Hollywood needs to figure out is that we want to see a Transformers movie with TRANSFORMERS as the main focus. I'm not sure why they can't figure that out.It's an easy concept.

Exactly. For the life of me i can't understand how people who want a live action transformer movie 90% transformers and 10% humans can't figure this out. What's even more comical is to this day, no one can seem to respond to this either.

Well, here's your response:

If someone wants an 80-90% Transformer movie, and the budget doesn't exist to make that happen, that does not change the want on the part of the people who would like to see that.

That's actually been the response to this for years now. "I want a movie with 80-90% Transformers!"
"The budget doesn't exist for that!"
"Well, that doesn't somehow mean that I don't want to see the movies made that way."

It's been that answer for years. People don't like that answer, so they ignore it, and then claim that those in favor of a budget prohibitive movie 'can't' answer. But sticking fingers in your ears doesn't equal an inability to answer. The same for better acting, writing, directing, whatever. Just because a thing isn't doesn't mean people give up on wanting it to be.

This has been a long way in the rumour mill by now, but it seems more and more the case that director Michael Bay will indeed not be returning to the Paramount/Hasbro franchise, working instead with the studios on other projects. He must be sick of Transformers by now so fair play to him. This should allow the films to evolve ( or transform if you please), build on what is good and replace elements that need replacing.

Actually, the latest news has it that, according to Variety magazine, "Bay is in early talks to direct Paramount’s “13 Hours,” which is based on the true story recounting the attack on the U.S. Special Mission Compound and a nearby CIA Annex in Benghazi, Libya, on the 11th anniversary of Sept. 11." Sounds like something along the lines of The Rock--he's always loved to direct movies like these.

Frankly, I can see him being creatively exhausted as far as the TF franchise is concerned, despite the money he's making.

It's funny that he says that considering TF4 had so few Autobots, yet they failed immensely in devoloping their characters. My friend walked out of the movie asking me why they barely mentioned their names, and how the Helicopter Autobot just disappeared from the movie after the factory siege.

Would be awesome to have Unicron, but the budget on that would have to be enormous. I'm hoping we see more well known Decepticons this movie, like Blitzwing and Thundercracker.

This is like the, what, zillionth time this rumor's come about? First it was that he wouldn't return for the third movie, and then we got DOTM. Then it was that he wouldn't return for the fourth movie, and then we got AOE. And here we are once again for the fifth movie.

As long as he keeps bringing in the Benjamins, I doubt Hasbro will ever let him go. I'll believe this when it comes from Paramount or from Bay himself. But as of now, this is as bogus as it's ever been.

This rumor has popped up every sequel. Besides, a change in director means nothing (Star Wars, Harry Potter, and Pirates have all had changes in directors without completely rebooting everything), and there's no way they're going to try anything new when Bay's method has earned them billions. At most they'll just go with a Bay-esque director.
