Now we've lost all the awesome stories that were coming out of Dreamwave, and not yet complete. Sure, IDW has good stories, but it'd be nice to see Dreamwave's stuff go back into print.

Add "blind Character hate" and we have agree-ance.

I agree with you. I do not like the idea of Primus, or Unicron. I do not like sparks either, but for a differant reason. I especially agree with you on the Geewunner thing.Nemesis Cyberplex wrote:Primus. The Quintesson origin story was much more interesting.
Sparks, for the same reason. I just find the "I, robot" idea of the mechanical evolving to the point where it is living more interesting than "Primus made us".
Fans of later TF series that discriminate against fans of the original series......& particularly those who use the term "Geewuner" as an excuse to ignore anybody with an opinion that G1 might have been better in any way, wether it be storytelling, character development, design, or variety than any other TF continuity, including the new movie.

Sparks, if they are visible or mainly located in the chest in a "spark chamber," bother me. I find it harder to have empathy for a Tf creature in a show when their robotic attributes are overempathised(sp?), and their living attributes are not emphesized(sp) enough. "Sparks," "Spark Chambers," and "Reformatting," really drive home the robotic idea.

Interesting you should say that, because most people who are against sparks (particularly when retroactively applied to G1) say that the thing they don't like is that it means the Transformer has some kind of metaphysical 'soul' - that is, they're not just robots. Most say that sparks distract from or cancel out the idea of Transformers being purely mechanical and being essentially machines which have evolved to the point of sentience.
Pesronally I have no problem with the idea of sparks - it simply makes explicit something that I believe was always implicit but never mentioned in the original series - but it's interesting to see the argument against them turned backwards from the way it's usually stated.
