Yeah, I don't like the legs sticking out either. Might be able to cram him in there a little more, not sure.

And D-Max is correct, it's Rewind's gun/tank barrel.

Based on the space in there, I doubt there's much that could be done short of flipping him upside down (so he's ride in the same orientation as in car mode) or turning him into a head (which kind of defeats the point.

But in further reflection, the legs sticking out kind of make it seem more like a construction exoskeleton than a mech, which isn't so bad.

Haha, yeah. One of the first things I did with him was turn him into a mech suit of sorts!

Edit: Oops I don't have a pic of the reversed legs, but it was basically this

Awesome creativity (and reversing the legs makes it even more mecha like) but I don't like how the headmaster's legs stick out at the bottom of the cockpit.

I know it's holding his own gun in the left hand and Scourge's in the right, but what's that gun plugged into the head socket?

Actually, mine was using the car mode with the arms acting as legs and the hood part folded to form feet.

Scourge's head can be adjusted if you pull off the headmaster's legs and fold down the arms

Image

You could also pull off the arms, but then you'd have big balls sticking off the side of his head, I prefer it this way.

I wonder this might be intentional, since Scourge's headmaster's legs aren't pinned on like Blur's are almost like they wanted you to be able to pop them off.

But, what do you do with the legs? You could just throw them in the cockpit until you need them, or... You can put them in the gun to sort of fill it out and make it look less hollow.

I guess it's not really so bad, but then you really need to keep track of the arms.

This fan-mode is also surprisingly sturdy! Also one interesting thing to point out is that I was also able to put my Cybertron Clocker into a pretty sweet turret type mode that can attach to Springer in this fan mode to make an even bigger hover-turret! I'll post a pic sometime. ;)

You should get that Springer on principle,it's as close to perfect as you can get.

Now, I have a question. I own a version of the Cybertron Voyager Starscream mold, it's the Dirge repaint.
Now, I noticed in vehicle mode there's clearance between the arm/wings and the legs/the rest of the plane body in plane mode. My question here is, is there a way to collapse the arms closer to the body in plane mode? Because it LOOKS like there COULD be, but I havn't found a way yet. I don't wanna break the thing trying in vain though, so I was wondering if anyone had found anything?

You're talking about the Galaxy Force one that never made got released in Starscream colors Stateside? I own GF Starscream and there is unfortunately no way to collapse the arm/wing assemblies toward the fuselage. The clearance is there for articulation purposes and I guess they didn't think to go complex enough to make it more streamlined in alt mode.

This is the case with my Universe Dirge as well. It also was the case with all of the Legends sized versions of this mold.

Aw :(

I messed with Dirge today and found out that yeah, it's impossible.
I have it figured that it's because of his gimmick.

Also, the mold WAS released in Starscream colors stateside, I saw him in two-packs at toys r us quite a bit. He was packed in with a deluxe energon optimus prime that was actually capable of powerlinking with other deluxe toys of the same line.

I think you have two releases mixed up:

- The Deluxe Energon Prime mold was bundled with the smaller version of Energon Megatron
- The Starscream you're thinking of had the red and grey switched, making him look like Thrust, and was bundled with an unchanged Vector Prime
The resident Rewind... well, half of one

- Jelze Bunnycat =:3

Looking for:
- TR Furos (Hardhead's head) and Crashbash (lost him :()
- PotP Punch head
- TR Galvatron right arm (the gun one)
- CW Brake-Neck/UW Wildrider, CW Offroad
- TR Twinferno & Grotusque
- Greenlight, Lancer and PotP Elita-1 (plus repro Victorion hands and feet?)

Its pretty awesome actually. If you get the galaxy force starscream, the US "starscream" (who is really Thrust) and Dirge, then you get half your seeker army.

And it can then be completed with these guys:

The Legends Class had even more colour choices:

Galvatron being a triple changer now might be surprising for some, but he's actually always been a triple changer. Here's my dumb take on trying to approximate his original third mode, a laser gun, on the new TR toy.

Image

Image

Interestingly (to me anyway) his legs seem to peg together when extended out like here than folded in for his official cannon (canon cannon? :HEADHURTS:) mode

I really love the very G1 accurate deco on TR Scourge, but there was one nagging problem. The thighs were blue instead of gray.

No more. One fairly easy thigh transplant later and I'm even happier with the look than before.

Image

Now it's pretty much as close to the original toy as it could be (accounting for the headmaster gimmick and different weapons).

No pics of alt mode, as the changed out parts aren't really visible when transformed unless you peek through some gaps.

You may ask "what about the donor figure?" Go on, ask. No one? Oh right, you can't ask until I hit post... anyway here he is.

Image

Works pretty good, IMO. I don't really care as much about this guy matching any older decos, and on it's own the color matches what the figure's already got pretty well. Again, still looks the same as it ever did in alt mode.

(Maybe this counts as a custom, but it's just parts swapping requiring nothing more than the two figures and a screwdriver, so I dunno, I'll put it here because I'm more familiar with this thread than the customs area. If I've erred please deduct the appropriate amount of energon from my weekly ration.)
