Thundercats figures...size eh?

Okay, I have been expanding my sense of nostalgia lately, branching out from TF to other toys I had and loved as a kid. TMNT, He-Man, Thundercats, etc. A quick protip for you all:

The photos you see online of the "classics" line for the TMNT DO NOT do them justice. I saw them months ago at BBTS and thought they were gangly, with bad joints, and I thought Mikey's 'chucks looked bunk. Then I saw them at a store at the Mall of America and was so blown away I bought all 4 on the spot. The joints are tight (even the toe and finger joints), and they have no problems whatsoever holding their respective weapons (which I thought they would judging from the online pics). Best of all, they will scale with any other figs you might be collecting (I have some of the classics MOTU, Thundercats, and DC classics, to name a few) better than the 4-inch versions. If you are a fan of TMNT DO NOT PASS THESE UP!

Anywho, so I was wandering the isles of a local toystore (the Mall has some great 'hidden treasure' stores where you can find stuff places like TRU and Wally aren't carrying anymore...still at retail prices!) and I come across a figure I had to scoop up on the spot: classic Mumm-Ra!

Here is my dilemma...the store I was in only had Mummy, so I rushed home and checked Le Interwebs for any other figures, and Lo and Behold only Lion-O and Tygra have been released in the "classics" line...BUT: both Lion-O and Tygra are listed as '8-inch' figures while Mumm-Ra is listed as '6-in'...even though they are from the same "classic" line, even sporting the same packaging! WTF, over?

So I do some more googlin', and find ANOTHER Lion-O (no Tygra), ALSO listed as '6-inch'...although this guy has some kind of "rage-face" going on (the 8-in model had a normal pursed-mouth type look). Both instances have the same packaging and come with the same accessories...just a different face scult. I then also did a specific search trying to find an '8-inch' Mumm-Ra (since the package from the one I bought doesn't say what scale the figure actually is), and found NOTHING.

My question is, what is real, what is KO, and why would two toys from the same line be 2 inches apart in scale, if the Interwebs is to be believed? I am debating just waiting until the store gets a restock and hope to see the Lord of Thundercats in person before buying because of all this, but fear that he might never get re-stocked at the same time. I really want to get a Lion-O to stand opposite my classics Mumm-Ra, but dont want one to arrive in the mail and be totally out of scale 'n junk.

QQ.

Bandai put out Lion-0 and Tygra in the larger scale then had a rethink and for some reason decided that people would want their Thundercats to match MOTUC and relaunched the line smaller. The entire Thundercats line, new school and classic designs now seems to be dead in the water so I wouldn't hold my breath for any new figures at this point.
