Michael Phillips of the Chicago Tribune called the movie "A work of ineffable soullessness and persistent moral idiocy." As of July 21 the film has made $303 million.

Hilarious.

Godzilla is on the list.

Well, RotF was pretty awful.

It, of course, gave us the Twins, which almost rival Jar-Jar in annoyingness.

RotF was the worst movie that I've seen so far; however, I don't feel like bashing it any more, because DotM was actually pretty good.

Seeing the rest of the list: I don't see why people love to bash Howard the Duck, Godzilla, WWW or Hudson Hawk - they are fun movies. Now, Catwoman should be number 2. Worst desecration of a character ever.

The Godzilla remake was pretty terrible, and I'd imagine Wild Wild West is equally as bad. Howard the duck and Hudson Hawk, though, are on my Netflix queue. I've heard Bruce Willis say that HH was one of his favorite roles along with playing John McClane in Die Hard 1, so it piqued my interest. Plus, Howard the Duck is Howard the Duck. I want to watch that no matter how bad it is.

Why the **** is DOTM on the list? :BOOM:

The Last Airbender should be in the top five, and DOTM should be gone. Period.

The Last airbender isn't number one...WTF is wrong with these people?! RoTF i can understand, low on the list, but DoTM was far better, and TLA was like a train wreck mating with a forest fire. The acting, writing, and even the effects were a bit sub par, not to mention they COMPLETLEY missed the tone of Avatar. Godzilla was a similar train wreck to me, as a fan of both franchises.

The last airbender, at least in my opinion, was almost as bad as dragonball evolution...... almost....

I kind of liked Godzilla, but The Last Airbender? *shudders*

I watched the entire series just so I could go to see that movie. What a waste of an hour and a half.

The worst part? DOTM and ROTF are higher on the list than it! WTF!

I'm not really ashamed to say that I kind of liked ROTF too.

they showed the twilight movies in the philippines during the summer season...should that count? and should we forgive godzilla because there's absolutely no way there can be an american movie that would show the US military is too inept(at least in the final act they get to kick @$$)?

"the movie was only a critical failure: most reviewers thought it lacked the spirit of earlier Godzilla films."

probably because it's not supposed to be a monster battle film duh

I've never paid attention to movie critics. What they have to say is based mostly on opinion anyways. Some of those movies on that list I can agree w/, others I'm surprised they are on their. As far as I'm concerned that list is just someone's opinion.

I actually enjoyed most the films on that list. I mean the truly awful films that belonged on there that are....Such as District 9. I hate district 9 more than any recent film. It had excessive shaky cam to give me a headache, horribly written characters I wish would have all died.

It forced weak logic to make an analogy, no one acts like the real world at all.(The main character is coughing up black stuff and losing finger nails...yet doesn't want to go to hospital despite them building up how much of a wuss he is.) It's like dropping a ton of gold into middle of central park and no one picks up but one guy and he's evil because greed is bad. That's how this film crams white guilt down our throats with racism. It ignores the fact that our races flaws are very reason this scenario would never happen, the Prawns are too valueable to toss into slums. Between having better tech than us, and treating them poorly is a great way START AN INTERGALACTIC WAR! They found us once they could do it again.

You can have a story with fanastic elements, but the people have to still act like people to make the point you're making in the metaphor.(So many other properties such as Star trek, Xmen, Alien Nation have all used race metaphors superior to District 9) It failed to do this miseribly. I agree humans are greedy, and cowardly at times. That's exactly why we'd rounded them all up in some sort of Area 51 style miltary base and studied their technology while taking good care of them.(cat food and shelter are a very cheap price tag for next generation weapons and technology.) No way in world we'd ever let some half assed organization passively oversee them while gangsters trade potential weapons of mass destruction freely. No way in 30 years we couldn't have figured out how to by pass their genetic locks on their gear. Humans are too smart for that.

So yeah awful movie that says humans and racism are bad in the most pretentious and preachy way. Makes Rotf look oscar worthy by comparsion.

Both are bad, but District 9 bad for a whole different reason than DBZ. DBZ was a shameless cash in and minimal effort. It never showed any promise as you got what you expected as you knew what you were getting into. Distict 9 was bad because was so much wasted potential, and tried give us a nice serving of white guilt with a side of pretenicous.(Had all trappings of what critics eat up, but Rotf was atleast honest to what it was, while this movie was just as mindless yet claimed have a half arse message.) People claimed it was a good movie and it slag.(I saw D9 for free and still feel violated.) Thats why it bothers me so much more. I'd never viewed DBZ with any expectation besides something make fun of with my friends. Neither were good films no matter how you slice it.

You happen to like it that's your business, I still think easily worst I've seen since the Blaire Witch Project.Blaire Witch Project remains worst film I've ever viewed as it hasn't been dethroned but D9 definitely comes a close second.

(eye roles) Ok you win the pointless nitpick of the day award. I typed DBZ because it's based off said property and everyone knows what that stands for, and easier to type. Not because I'm somehow ignorant of the horrible movies title based off a so so manga/anime series. You want to call me lazy, I'm dead to rights. I'm fully aware of it...correct me on something that matters.

I love transformers I really do. I like g1, g2, beast wars, animated, wfc, prime, the first movie and I even kinda like beast machines but that dosnt mean I will blindly defend every last cartoon episode or comic book with its name. I watched rotf with my girlfriend and some of our frinds and it was really really embarasing those unfunny arguably racist steryotype characters seemed to dominate a really impossible to follow and illogical storyline made this a film hard to like or love. the first film was great fun and the third was ok bar the first hour but rotf really is an abomination. the positive thing from all this is rotf has proven that love is blind and transformers fandom is imortal and imune to even the poorest quality control and public ridicule long may it live and blossom :D

DOTM never deserved that list it was better than it's cousin RotF that reigns on the top.

But RotF was good to a point but the writers at TIME thought "Dark of the Moon is a Michael Bay movie, let's add it to the list for the lulz."

There are worse movies out there, and they thought DotM is relying too much action at a certain checkpoint to cut the lack of having a convoluted plot. The plot is good but this movie was meant to have a reliable plot and increasingly tense action at the same time.

Plan 9 from Outer Space was released in July of '59. It is a summer movie. It's one of the worst movies ever made. Hobgoblins and Caddyshack II were released in July '88. The Room was originally released June 2003 and is still TEARING ME APART LISA.

They are missing from that list, Time, fix that.

The bar for crap was not very high and the search not very wide. Plan 9 is so awful it made me scream. The solar harvester is a literary 'eureka' next to the solenite bomb. It should have rules that list.
