Those surely aren't the final colors, the weapons are just plain test-shot-grey. I'm not sure what the spikey bits are all about, but I dig the SMG and the... ENGINE GUN (Axelerators, yay). LOVE IT. Now, go get the colors right so you can SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY.

Agreed. Here's hoping they keep the big neon SS on the doors. Whats G2 without the characters names plastered across themselves? :D .

The List:

Yes! A ledgends Beachcomber re-issue. :APPLAUSE:

That makes me so happy. I missed out on the small guy back in 2008.
Hope Brawn, Wheelie, Cosmos get a re-release too.

That would be:

Powermaster Optimus, Victory Saber, Dai Atlas, Optimus Primal, Lio Convoy/Leo Prime, Big Convoy, RID Optimus, Armada Optimus, Energon Optimus and Cybertron Optimus.

Damn, all are cool choices, but I would rather have more G1 characters.. And not... another prime.

Though, Star saber or Galaxy Convoy would be sweet.

Well, still hoping that the actual MP20 will be Megatron v2. At least this shows that Takara isn't sticking to some predictable mystical grand plan and anything is possible^^

I could go for a masterpiece Primal for sure. Beast Wars is what got me back into Transformers.

I really can't decide. God Ginrai/Powermaster Prime would be epic as would Optimus Primal, Lio Convoy and Big Convoy.

May I have all 4 please? I'll pay top dollar :D!

edit: On second thought, cancel God Ginrai/Powermaster Prime. It's about time Takara popped their MP Beast Wars cherry. Bring on the beasts!

Possibly, unless he's not larger than the G1 figure. My guess is he'd be far smaller, but way more show accurate and articulated. No way they'd stick to scale on that one.

Well, that's just Prime! And every other supreme Autobot leader.

Oooh... it looks like Japan has been reading the Generation 2 comics. He just needs a row of bullets going across his chest and a really, really ticked off expression.

 pretty much!

Now that I think about it, perhaps what they're really looking for is a possible alternate direction or way to branch out for the MP line, but they want to play it safe and see what the interest levels would be and what the most popular lines would be for them to go with. G1 is expensive since there are licensing issues galore. None of the other lines have that problem, so if they started doing any series other than season 1 of G1, no more royalties to car makers and thus higher profits.

I could get behind this idea, but I don't want them to abandon season 1 of G1 just yet.

On one hand, they are making more Autobot Primes/Matrix bearers from G1 (which is a great thing), but on the other hand, almost half of the list is nothing but Optimus figures. I would really hope they'll make a Fortress Maximus or the Star Saber (and hopefully, a Victory Leo) Masterpiece figure since they're two of the best Autobot leaders in G1.

Friggin' Primes...

I really hope MP-20 gets to be G1 Galvatron. They could do him in show colors first, then do MP-20M (or some other appropriate code) for the toy/Marvel-accurate Galvatron II. Maybe make him bluish-gray to reflect how he was rendered in the original comics.

Hell, the G1 figure is pretty close to MP scale to begin with. If I can take my beat-up old G1 Galvatron and figure out how it could be done all on my own, TakaraTomy's engineers really ought to be up to the task.

In short... MP-20 G1 Galvatron or GTFO, TakaraTomy!

I'd vote for Armada Optimus Prime and Galaxy Convoy. IMO, the former has a really nice design, and it'd be awesome to see high-end MP version of it. As for Galaxy Convoy, I missed out on the original, and a suped up MP version will be like a dream come true.

Too bad Vector Prime isn't on the list.

Wait so is that is for new MP's until next years Tokyo Toy Show?

Is there any other events where they announce MP's or do you think there will be random announcements in the future sort of like MP Prowl and his repaints?

I'm certain there will be more MPs next year. I think this is just a tease/taste of things to come. It's possible that they plan on doing all of the MPs/lines listed, but are only choosing one which will be first in line for the 30th anniversary release.

I would love an MP armada prime. The design was awesome but the combined super mode was a brick. Just imagine if it had a trailer that could become articulated legs =P~ . I would get it for sure.

I'm just going to assume the lack of Ultra Magnus on that list means he's already planned.

The only one on that list that I want to see is God Ginrai.

Although a Victory Saber would be cool, I'd vote Primal. Hopefully it would be a foot in the door towards more BW Masterpieces. Despite how great toyline was let's face it, the show characters from the first season got screwed over. Hardly any of them were in scale, they had incorrect colors, and their designs were often inaccurate. I also hope Takara would do BW masterpieces on a smaller scale, they really don't have to be very large. Also, just a random idea. But Beast Wars is actually a great candidate for a masterpiece line. Considering how few characters were actually in the show, that could mean a complete Beast Wars masterpiece lineup

As far as I'm concerned, Beast Wars Telemocha Series TM-01 Convoy is already "Masterpiece Optimus Primal" enough, being show-accurate enough in size, color, and mold. 8)
