Oh wow, that is high praise. Who else is on that list? Warpath?
In terms of tanks or in terms of top 5 Generations?
Generations top 5. Since you mentioned it, I got curious.
Hmm... I would say Blitzwing, Sandstorm, Armada Starscream, Nightbeat, and Cosmos. But those are just figures from the last year or two... things get more complicated once WFC/FOC, RTS, and older Generations comes into the mix.

Well, RTS was under the big "Transformers" line. Generations really began with the WFC figures.

Cool list by the way. Its very interesting that you picked Sandstorm since I've been hearing that he's the best of the two molds.

Don't get me wrong - Springer's great. But the 'fans/rotors' on Sandstorm's back present so many options...

I love these lists, and love your choices.
I think for a 'best cars' list you break it up into multiple really narrow lists: best race cars (criteria: a number on them somewhere?), best cybertronian cars, best sports cars, best jeeps, etc.

Yup, that's a great idea. It will make for a bunch more opportunities. And then I will have a top 10 best cars all taken from the previous lists. I got that from a suggestion
here.

What about the Generations Legend Megatron mold? That was some pretty smart engineering if I must say so myself, using a spring to let the turret rotate and much more.

The rotating turret is cool, but he has exposed hands.

What if he does have exposed hands?

Well it takes away from the idea that he is a robot in disguise. It also means that there is less new alt mode detail and it instead reuses bot mode parts without them looking different. Of all the warpath toys, he is the one that looks less convincing in tank mode since the hands are just right there front and centre:
