Top 5 Shockwave Figures?

I had G1 Shockwave as a kid that I absolutely loved, but I don't have any Shockwaves in my current collection.

What are the Top-5 Shockwave figures currently out there? I've been waiting for a good Voyager size remake or a Masterpiece figure to come out, but who knows when that'll be.

What are the definitive Shockwave figures every fan should own?

Well, Energon Shockblast or Superlink Laserwave is the best modern take on Shockwave in Voyager size, that at least resembles the original:

Another one is FoC Shockwave, although Deluxe. He's still available in stores:

For something completely off-beat, Cybertron Shockwave:

The only Shockwaves i like are G1 (nothing beats G1 in regards to Shockwave) and DOTM.

I only wish the DOTM had a little better articulation. Especially in the arms.

A bonus with that fig is that he combines with Laserbeak quite nicely. WHich is a fun little gimmick.

Kinda silly to pick the "Top 5" when there are less than ten to choose from (not counting non-transformable figures like Robot Heroes).

The Alternators Shockwave robot mode is pretty sweet! That looks the best, next to the G1, to me.

I don't love the DOTM Shockwave. I like the size and the head, but I don't love the ribs and rippled limbs. I prefer a more stream ine design like the G1 and Alternator robot modes.

I'm going to pick up the two Animated Shockwaves for sure. They're pretty decent and he was one of the top characters in that show.

I'm torn on the Generations: Fall of Cyberton figure. The robot mode looks great, but it's so small. It's more like "Shockwave lite." I don't know why they didn't make him a Voyager.

I've never seen the "Shockblast - Energon" figure before. Fantastic looking figure. Thanks for the help fellas.

Less than ten? There are twelve Shockwave figures available

1. G1 Shockwave
2. Alternators Shockwave/Shockblast
3. Cybertron Shockwave
4. Animated Shockwave
5. Animated "Shockwave VS Bumblebee" Two-Pack
6. DOTM Cyberverse Shockwave
7. DOTM Voyager Shockwave
8. DOTM "Optimus Prime vs. Shockwave" Voyager Two-Pack
9. DOTM "Streetside Bot Brawl" Voyager Shockwave
10. FoC Shockwave
11. Bot Shots "Decepticon Brawl / Shockwave / Ironhide" multipack
12. Bot Shots Shockwave

That's not even counting Energon Shockblast or the "Astro Magnum" figure. Where do you get less than ten?

That's the problem. Shockwave is woefully under represented. That's why his G1 figure goes for big $$$ on eBay. I just wanted to get some opinions on whats out there before I make a decision on which ones to put my money toward.

Hasbro and Takara could solve this with a nice Masterpiece Shockwave. I'd rather have that then Red Alert, Sideswipe and another Optimus Prime.

A) I said there are less than ten TRANSFORMABLE FIGURES. I don't consider Bot Shots to be transformable action figures.
B) Putting a figure in a two-pack with another figure doesn't make it a different figure.
C) Maybe it's 12 instead of 10. Big deal. The point is still valid.

They're transformable toys, no matter it's transformation difficulty.

B) Putting a figure in a two-pack with another figure doesn't make it a different figure.

:BANG_HEAD: It's not just the same figure re-packaged. They repainted them.

Counting repaints and Bot Shots is taking "less than ten" waaaaay to literally. No one's going to put the same mold on their Top 5 list twice, and the list is heavily implied to be for "Mainline" figures (Deluxes or larger, preferably larger).

Just a thought, does 3rd Party count? I would be referring to "Military Operations Commander" and "Knight Morpher Cyclops". :VEHI:

I picked up both Animated Shockwaves on eBay last night and I'm going to grab the Fall Of Cybertron Shockwave from BBTS. What's a good price for the Alternators Shockblast?

Exactly.
Why not just get them all?

I have Animated, Voyager and Cyberverse from DotM, Energon, Alternators, Generatons FOC, and of course, the G1. Also, the Bot-Shot.

That's just 8 transformable Shockwaves! The only pricey ones are the G1, the Energon, and the Alternator. You love Shocky, you can get them all easely for a decent price.

Less than 50$ is a okay price. I paid mine 50$ so... yeah... It's expensive, but kinda worth it. By the way, I mistransformed mine to make him look more different than his mold brother, Alternators Jazz.

You haven't gotten them all until you have the both Animated Shockwaves, the Streetside Bot Brawl Shockwave, and the Optimus vs Shockwave two-pack repaint. And the Astro Magnum figure, if you really want to count that. :-B

I meant, of course, the main transformable MOLDS. A real completist would have all the repaints, all the reissues, and anything with the name "Shockwave/blast" on it. Honestly not many are rich and dedicated enough for that. :HALUC:

Nemesis Destron wrote:Binaltech SW is sooooo awesome with all that heavy metal! ;)^ :VEHI:

And let me add, so EXPENSIVE! But yeah, it's awesome to own one with all that diecast. I got a MISB Binaltech Grimlock just because I could trade a 3 current MOSC deluxes. He feel very nice in hand but is a pain to transform. Especially his stupid arms that keep popping off but blame the Wheeljack mold, not the metal.

If someone have the cash, one should go with Binaltech over the all plastic Alternators. It's just a difference of around 50 to 200$ more only.

Of course, those are all the transformable molds, but not all of the transformable toys.

But you're right, nobody is really dedicated enough to buy that many Shockies.
