You know, Swoop is one of the few Dinobots that did get a classics style upgrade, albeit a piss poor one. Remember the original Universe line? Well, it was supposed to contain the Grimlock and Swoop toys that eventually ended up in the Armada line. He obviously deserves a place in this discussion regardless (he is on my list afterall), but I did want to put that tidbit out there. Slag and Snarl have been far more ignored, we didnt even get Animated versions of them.
Also, it was never confirmed that the 2 headed pteradon type character seen in the movie was Swoop. He seems more of a slight inspiration rather than a movie version of the character, which is what Grimlock and Slug were.

That Swoop actually isn't half bad. Love the claws.
If a Generations update were designed based on that aesthetic, I'd probably buy it.

TK415 wrote:No offense taken on my part. But, for the record I did write: “Swoop or Swoop like characters," meaning any type of pterodactyl or pteranodon. For AOE I would have preferred a more Swoop like character than a Strafe/Swoop mix. Thanks WJ for providing additional info to expand on my post, that is useful.

Blackarachnia was released in the Takara Legends line which mirrored the Hasbro Generations line so IF she counts as a classics Blackarachnia while only being a slight retool and repaint, do these guys count as Classics Dinobots? They were also released under the Generations line.

No. Not even close. These 'things' aren't even recognizable as dinobots. Sadly, with every purchase of them, it's one more nail in the coffin of a decent, official, generations dinobot update. 3Rd party is expensive, but at least they get it right.
I guess that is something I have to let go of. There is a whole generation out there now that thinks it's okay to pass off the movie figures as traditional characters. They are wrong. They suffer the ignorance of youth, but so did we all at one point or another.

I don't agree at all with your statement. While I agree that these are not "real" Generations dinos, every sales of anything Dinobots will make SURE that an eventual TRUE Dinos Gen updates will come. If a character sell, HasTak make more. Why do you think there was so much Bumblebees at one point? For the previous two movies, he was really popular and his toys sold like hotcakes. So we eventually got a Bee swarm with Prime and DotM.
Now, it's the Dinobots turn. Once they have taped the movie molds dry, we WILL see true Dinos emerge. 200$ for the Platinum set is overkill, but at 100$, those who never got any movie Dinos should not pass this up. And with enough interest, the big suits will see it profitable to mabe do some heavy retooling to make these movie molds into proper Dinos. Give it time. However, if no one is buying anymore, it will take YEARS before seeing another version of them.
