I'm sure it's just on a delay compared to the US release just as Blaster and Grimlock were.

Same here. The "Classics" Grimlock, "Generations" Thundercracker, and "Bot Shot" Optimus were the only three I had purchased. And the first two had botched paint jobs, with all three having some kind of loose articulation. Thundercracker was the worse. So I ended up strictly sticking with TOMY regardless if I am buying for my permanent collection or temporary/loose collection.

But also, I agree with you that they will release it. However, my gut is telling me that when they do... They might pull a "UNITED" and place these into a completely new (anniversary-based?) line. And if they do, I am hoping it is so they can cap off their Generations line with what is shown in ALL SPARK. .....

Awww, damn >.<

I just recently canceled my Fot Max pre-order so I could hasten my savings for a trip, and then this guy is reported. Booo! Lol. Was thinking of taking some of the Fort Max cash to put towards an MP, since most seem to be under $100, but I might put it towards this guy instead, if I can manage it with my vacation fund needing desperate attention.... and it doesn't turn out to be an all but impossible to find TRU exclusive *grumbles*

Well, since it's being called FoC Metroplex, I expected FoC Metroplex.

I'm still getting this one, but if they make an actual FoC Metroplex (or if a third party does) I'll be all over that too (and that's what I'd rather have honestly).

This one fits in well with Classics/Generations, but not so much WfC/FoC.

Supposedly this won't hit until 2014 (for the 30th anniversary) so you should have plenty of time.

Now wait a minute. If I recall correctly, GRR did say, and I quote:

Meaning that we may see them as early as September/October, just in time for the holiday season.

I hope so!

Just hope the pre-orders don't come out while I am oversea's, if that's the case >.<

If you do BBTS (who has POL and doesn't charge you until an item is instock) it shouldn't be a problem (assuming you have internet access overseas).

Ah, so earlier than I thought. I guess my first suspicions about it being for the holiday season was correct then.

He can, by the looks of his hips and knees.

Most...impressive (I know that's Unicron's quote, but still...)

I noticed it's more of a neo-G1 design than a game accurate one from FoC, but damned if that's not an impressive toy. I just hope I can afford it.

And over 2 feet tall!

Over two feet? Fortress Maximus, the biggest Transformer to date, was two feet exactly, IIRC. So, this means he surpasses Fortress Maximus as the biggest Transformer ever?

AWESOME!!!!!!!

Actually, Fortress Maximus was 22''. Metroplex is the full 2 ft.

AWESOME!!!!!!!

Indeed! I am very excited about Metroplex.

WOW!!

Hasbro back on the ball. this thing sure looks great, (except for the fact hat his fists are still visible in battle station mode)

hope that it interacts well with all classes, and not just become a legion playset.

also hoping that I have the funds to afford it (along with shipping and import taxes)

Shipping this beast it going to be too expensive.

I have mixed feelings about this. On one hand, the size and articulation are great. On the other hand though, the city mode is a step down from Scramble City setup - even completely stripped of all the combiner torsos. Also the battle station mode seems a little barren compared to the original. He's still great, but honestly, having had time to step back and look at him again, he's more of an 8 than a 10.

I apologise in advance of this sounding... well... picky.

Anyone else think this is too big? I mean, what will it scale with? I'd rather something the same size as YOTS Omega. I suppose in America having this guy will be less of a problem but in England houses are no bigger than Shoeboxes.

Metroplex is a large character. He is more than just a house. They don't throw around the term city former for nothing.

LOL I know Metroplex isn't a 'houseformer'! What I mean is, space is a premium in the UK, more so than the US. I think my dad's living room over there has similar dimensions to my house. There aren't many storage options for a 2ft Transformer available to me. I suppose I could put him in the spare bed...

Simple solution - go with the G1 Version. Articulation will be worse, but overall, I think from what we've seen here, it'll be the better version overall.

I am with you on that thought. When I decided to get a better look (and not really liking all that I see), I realized that they announced this piece around 1-2 months BEFORE TOMY starts to ship out Fortress Maximus. I mean... It felt like they just had to make it 2" taller, as if they needed to compensate for not being able to reissue their version of Fortress Maximus. :-?

But that is my feeling on that. And speaking of space, I currently have to store all my pieces in my closet. Because atop of having them sent to AFA, the bedroom I currently use has no space what-so-ever. That, and the window I have gets pretty much direct sunlight... Which is another issue. So here is me preferring a England or Japan-based home with a room that contains minimal natural light to this room. ;)
