Good news for those patiently awaiting the release of Hasbro's Toys"R"Us Exclusive Masterpiece Thundercracker. Seibertron member That Bot spotted the figure's shelf tag at a Toys"R"Us location in Buford, GA. The figure is scheduled to release in October, but this is a good indication the figure's release is imminent.

Click here to check out our images of the figure from SDCC 2012.

Knew they would raise the price, so what is it this time the stand justifies the extra $10? Im happy with skywarp so this is an easy pass for me.

lol there raising prices everywhere but i would pay 70$ for thundercracker especially since starscream was 80 when i got him from walmart.

To bad thundercracker isnt a walmart exclusive cause i dont like toyrus's policy on employees buying products.

I think he may possibly get released late september. And optimus prime is gonna be released for november or december for christmas

Nice. Except the price rise. They always do that. It's the "Toys R Us premium." The whole masterpiece Grimlock fiasco was the worst example. Kind of amazes me that they can stay in business considering most of what they sell is available elsewhere for cheaper. Only times I shop are for the occasional exclusive like this or when they have a big clearance sale like 3 for 1, or 50% or 75% off. I picked up some things on sales like that for really cheap there a few years ago, but haven't seen any really good ones since probably 2010.

I am skeptical that the new mold is improved enough to justify $40 more than Skywarp ($30 clearance sale at Walmart), but we'll see.

I'm curious about that sticker on the tag. A few other products on the shelf had them as well, which were in stock.

Did we ever get a reason why we are getting Thundercracker before Starscream?

Maybe Starscream will be Takara exclusive while Thundercracker will be Hasbro exclusive? Well that's just my assumption xP.

Will pass on this since I already have Starscream but gotta say he looks great.

I hope this is available in the online store as well.
My TRU is a pain to get to and I can't justify making the trek if there's no guarantee of stock.

Because we got a Starscream out of the original mold back in 2008 or so. That's our MP Starscream, according to Hasbro.

I'll buy it on ebay when it's a more reasonable price.

The last time I bought this character at a Toys "R" Us, it was the Generations version. He had a blotch of paint in one spot, and one of the arm joints was pretty loose. And this was right off the card and out of the plastic. :BOOM:

So even if I wanted this, as I originally wanted a loose piece to stand guard with my MISB pieces (which I seriously need categorize before sending off to AFA)... This experience (and what I have read on the production practices used to make their stuff) has me think I should pass. Even though it does look nice. Even if my small collection is 70% Cybertron and 10% Autobot. Gah! Decisions! :BANG_HEAD:

In street clothes paying cash at a different location, how would they know youre an employee ? Or give a friend the cash and text him what shelf you stash it before some kid finds it...

No, it's quite a bit more detailed, intricate and articulated.

But $70 seems a little high. I really hope they don't jack it up even higher for the Canadian release.

Is this even going to be the same size? I know it's a new moldish for Thundercracker but if the size is smaller I'm so not sure if I want it displayed with the others.Hell if so I hope Starscream gets released cause mine is already sort of broken from the hinges :C

Skywarp is still in good shape.

Here is a side by side with the original MP Seeker mold. They are the same size.

Hm. Rodimus was $69.99 at all of the TRUs around me, so that isn't a price increase in my area at least. Grimlock was $79.99.

Ohh good thanks for the comparison. Still the seeker line seems to really be everywhere. I'm pretty sure SS was roughly 60-70, Skywarp was 6, now we up to 70 again. I can't remember I think I bought Rodimus somehow at 60 and it jumped up in price though I could be mistaken.

I never got Grimlock :C

Yeah, I think on the Twincast the guys said that TRU reserves the right to increase and decrease prices on items based on the area certain stores are located. For instance I live close to DC so of course my stores would be more. I think anyway.

Guess what's going to cost $144 US where I live again...

Hasbro prices in Asia are just getting ridiculous, Since I paid $137 for my Takara MP-11. :-(
