I'm not complaining on the price, esp. since Rodimus was $70. The one that pissed me off was the SDCC excl. FOC Bruticus at $100. If it were $75 I might have jumped, but 100? Horse*&%$. It's probably a moot point since the Hasbro line was the worst I've ever seen in 7 yrs. I knew people who waited 3+ hrs. for just the ticket to get in the line, who didn't get in. By the time people got in, days later, everything was sold out. All bitterness in this post justified? Absolutely.
Seriously. How is the ranting of a person who hates something that he cannot control "justified"?
I mean... Should I bitch about people like you with the same level of regard you gave these two companies and call it just that? How about the fact that I might be spending the same amount of money to have my collection graded, as it cost me to get it in the first place? Should I hate AFA for their increase just because I'd like to pay less?
Point is that these items do go down in price if they do not sell well. My Toys"R"Us, when I liked going there, has numerous MPs and Commemorative sets go on clearance. And the SDCC exclusive? You do understand that they pay to be there and it is not cheap, right? So those who paid that $100 paid $15 per figure, plus another $5 per figure just for the exclusiveness of the item.
So yeah... Where is the "justification" when getting angry will just stress you out, as well as sour the enjoyment of doing this kind of collecting? Because if you do not like the needed increase or price, then what does that say about your collection in the future? You need to think about that.
Because for me, I finally found something worth collecting. And while I do not like the prices I pay, as well as the fees tied to AFA, I do it because the only "justice" is either having the reason to pay said "premium" or not and enjoy what I have. And this is after 15+ years of trying to find my "collecting groove."
