It's black. The only damage is the plastic covering the screen is badly scratched.
Never fear, there's a replacement screen cover included that you can use to replace the other if you wish.
One thing that is odd to say but it's somehow important to mention, the original battery cover is there.
It's the Japanese system but you do know it can play any games.
