Not surprising.
Most of the winners looked like the only ones that could be nominated.
I can't think of anything that could compete with the winners.

""JUMP-FROM-YOUR-SEAT" SCENE OF THE YEAR
-- FINAL BATTLE: MEGATRON VS. OPTIMUS PRIME, TRANSFORMERS"

Please tell me you're kidding?

It could win the special effects catagory.

That's about it. None of the acting was Oscar worthy, the overall film itself isn't Oscar worthy (even though it is fun) and the direction is definitely not Oscar worthy (although he may get a nod for the work put into it)

To us, it's one of the greatest movies ever. To the Oscars (politically leaning), it's all about stars and who they want to win.

A movie with real quality isn't as important as what can make a name for someone.

The only reason I'm surprised is that they didn't stiff Transformers.

Although I don't know about Megan Fox. Just who was she up against anyway?

Megatron vs Optimus for jump out of your seat?
I jumped outta my seat way earlier than that.
I jumped out when Peter Cullen talked about the Allspark at the beggining.

I thought it said '28 Weeks Later' was the best Movie to Comic Adaptation? :???:

I don't see '30 Days...' On FB's list. Plus, it was just released this weekend.

Too bad TFs did not win the 'Ultimate Scream Award'... I have a feeling '300' will take a few things away from TFs.

And I have to say, I was happily surprised at how good '28 Weeks Later' was. My wife and I watched the DVD Friday night, and it was really good. A lot closer to what I would like to see the Resident Evil movies be like.

You, me, my friends who havent seen transformers since G1, and everyone that was in the theater that day.

Also when Blackout made the original transform sound.

And alot of other times as well.

I would be very surprised if TF doesn't at least get special effects.

I really hope you're not counting the Scream King award there. ;;)

Yes, Shia won it, but for his role in Disturbia, NOT Transformers.

Shouldn't they have a "best comic to screen adaption" as well? I think with all the graphic novels being made into movies these days, that one would be just as relevant.

Keith Richards won best cameo? Lemme guess...must have been a zombie...not much acting there for him. Wasn't he declared legally dead like 10 years ago?

So Transformers took five awards? Let's look at other counts:
Grindhouse (which was a TERRIBLE movie BTW): 3
Spiderman 3: 1
PotC 3 (which was WAAAAY too long BTW): 2
Harry Plopper (again, WAAAY tool long): 2
28 Days Later: 2
the 300: 2
Everyone else got 1.
Guess that means Transformers is just too cool for the rest. Was this like a public votes award? How did they win them?

Transformers won't win any writing awards for sure; may be nonminated for cinematography and photography. ILM WILL win for effects; I also wouldn't be surprised to see the score nominated. It's one of the best scores I've heard in a long time; it really captured and enhanced certain moments in the movie. The "soundtrack" might win Best Song. To be honest, this has not been a strong year for movies as far as the critics go. I expect 300 to be nominated for best picture. There is a WAAAAAAAAAAY outside chance that Shia could get a best actor nomination for TF...he really did a great job with his character, I think. I don't see any movies really walking away with an armful of awards the way, say, Braveheart did.
