Sorry, but that sounds a little to "deep" for what it is. I guess "Transformers: the last movie that I get to do so I am going to do a bunch of crazy crap that will unintentionally piss off the G1 fanboys while blowing up a whole bunch of **** with my favorite Victoria Secret model adding the T and A!" was too long.

This title seriously sounds like an Engrish anime title.
I kind of want to correct the grammar, like "The Dark of the Moon" or "Dark Side of the Moon". Dark of the Moon totally feels like there is something missing to have it be a "real" phrase.

That title sounds more like a novel title, somewhat like Reign of Starscream, Alliance, or Defiance. Not a movie adaptation, but still cannon in between.

Until Hasbro officially announces anything, I choose not to believe that this is the working title for the 3rd Transformers movie.

When I read this I thought - Another Harry Potter Movie? But sadly no, it's TF.

But really, this title sounds more like a Potter or Percy Jackson movie.

Maybe Shockwave comes to earth with cybertron and cybertron acts as another moon to the earth, a dark moon. And the decepticon army comes from cybertron to invade earth....

Similar to what happened in the original g1 series, thats my guess anyway.

Starscream better try and destroy megatron in this one too!!! ALL HAIL STARSCREAM!

I think that jet thing thats been seen recently is how they get from cybertron to earth aswel maybe, who knows. I'm actually looking forward to this film tho, just hope its not a let down like the 2nd one and its not all about bumblebee.

Shockwaves looking great too, might be the first movie toy i buy :)

If this is true, hopefully it will be "Dark of the Moon", without the leading "The". Too many "the's" make it clumsy. "Dark Moon" would be better IMHO.

I'm still geeking about the Space Shuttle's role in the movie! Awesome Leader-class transforming toy plzkthx.

Oh wow.... Sigh, just... siiiigh. Honestly, my first thought was "Twilight?!?", which is not something I ever want to have cross my mind when speaking of something Transformers related. I think the name is kind of uncreative, personally. Perhaps the name sounds Twilight-y on purpose, maybe to subconsciously reel in the TwiTards, cuz it sounds similar? And Twilight is so popular? Or... something?

Oh well. To be truthful, the only reason I'm even going to see the movie is because I'm curious to see what they do with Shockwave. There's nothing else to do but watch the nonsense unfold. No point in whining about it.....

But still..... :BANG_HEAD:

Gotta love how people jump straight onto the hate bandwagon right after hearing a name they don't understand about a movie they don't know much about. Especially without even knowing the context behind the name.

'Dark of the Moon'? Sounds like some daft TF/Twilight crossover fanfic title! :BANG_HEAD:

I don't have to understand the context of a title to think it sounds bad, man. Cowboy Ninja Viking looks like a cool comic, but it's title is just... ridiculous and unimaginative. That's the way of things. Words have power, and disliking a choice of words for a title doesn't require a ton of context.

...?

Anyway, until I see Hasbro put their stamp on it or see the words in an official trailer, I won't take it as the title of TF3.

"Dark of the Moon" is not bad, it could definitely have been worse. But it could have been so much better. Even a few of the episode titles from G1. "Transformers 3: Heavy Metal War" would have sounded f**king awesome, for example. Maybe a bit too long, but it would definitely have fit. Especially if Bay owns up to what he's been spouting, which is going all out in his final installment.

At the same time, it could have been worse. However, given that the movie revolves around the space race between America and the Soviet Union, and there are a lot of space stuff (like the shuttle and space-TFs like Shockwave and such) I think this title is probably true, and will reflect in the context of the story.

...and I just realized I have "Bad Moon Rising" by CCR playing on my playlist...

I am guessing Sam and Carly are going to be get sent to the Moon with Astrotrain and the Autobots have to rescue them.

Im actually not a big fan of sub titles in any movie. I'd be satisfied with just Transformers 3 or TF3

I think "Dark Moon" would sound less confusing. "The Dark of the Moon" just sounds too abstract compared to the other Movie titles but maybe it has some other significance. :-? Maybe the Space shuttle is actually Sky Lynx or Omega Supreme. Hey it could have been called "Transformerssss in Spaceeeeee"

This is exactly what I thought when I saw the title...

Hopefully, TF3 will sync with Dark Side of the Moon batter than the Wizard of Oz did.

if your some what of a thinker like me delving into the name there is alot of reasons it might be named as such for example the dark of the moon could mean there is something on the moon eg decepticon space craft/ armies or could reference one of cybertrons moons arriving at earth or following armada as the moon being unicron or just for the lulz a tf twiligt crossover where the twilight cast get crushed by megs riped apart by ravage and blasted apart by ironhide because he hates them too all within 5 minutes of it starting

My thought is that, considering that Shockwave is the apparent main villain, he could establish an outpost on the moon, and launches his operations from there. Or, as was the case in RoTF, there was some left behind Cybertronian artifacts/objects of importance etc. left there that will be major to the plot of the film. We'll see...

It's a little cheesy, but it definitely could be worse. We still don't know if it's certain anyway.
