Thanks to the Planet Iacon facebook page we have news that Transformers Generations: Fall of Cybertron Wave 2 has been released in Hong Kong. This version features the more vibrantly colored mass retail version of the Combaticons. A good sign that these guys will be making their way Stateside soon.

I'll take that Onslaught. As for the rest, my SDCC Combaticons work fine.

Man, there's so much variety in the colors of the Combaticons!

You've got:
Game-Accurate deco (but not concept-art accurate. i.e., Vortex has a black head in the art, but a red head in the game)
Transformers: Energon inspired Bruticus Maximus deco
Generation 2 inspired deco
(And Ruination, but not really)

But yeah, these are fairly bad colors. That Blast Off is a robot Barney.

Hmm. Part of me says "Oooh. New figures to buy." The logical side of me says "Oooh, gonna save money by going with the BBTS exclusive and it's gonna suck as is, so I might as well save money."

I'm going with my logical side.

Im still banking on a Takara release. And there is nothing left to go but G1 for color scheme. If they do Shockwave, Prime, and Jazz, I bet these guys are coming next.

Preach it, brutha!

The colors are slightly less obnoxious now that we're looking at production models. 4/5 look pretty good. Satisfactory enough!

Yep, have to agree with you there.

I try to "forget" the whole combiner part and think of them as singles. That being said I honestly only want Swindle

As I see it, this Onslaught, Swindle and Brawl ARE G1-ish in color. Onslaught was dark blue and green, Swindle was tan/yellow in color, and Brawl was green. Granted, they aren't the EXACT shades of their first toys. Only this Vortex and Blast Off are nothing at all like their G1 counterparts in color.

Waiting for the United versions... But the prices of United deluxes are $35USD... :O That's gonna be one expensive bruticus, but if it has game-accurate deco, I wont mind since the SDCC one goes for much over $150...

I planned on getting Brawl and Onslaught only, but if I find all of them at once in a store, I'll probably pick them up.

I don't think I'll ever get used to their colors. They're all just so... clashing. I can deal with the G2 version, but not these. If they were just 10% less saturated, maybe...

*sigh* SDCC is too dull, Retail is too vivid, G2 is also vivid but somehow is least offensive. Wonder if the Wreckers are just right.

Shockwave is being released as part of the Arms Micron line as Am-29 which BBTS lists with a December release. Optimus (TG-01) and Jazz (TG-02) was just recently solicited as part of a new line dubbed the TG series but no sale date has been announced.

I wouldn't be surprised if the SDCC set comes down in price, or the market is flooded with them when TT announce their decos. Failing that I'm in complete agreement with you, even tho the United stuff is usually more expensive, it might work out better value..

Once again, no love for the U.K.!
Nothing from the FoC line, Prime Hotshot, Prime Knockout, Prime Blu-ray release of season 1 or 2, Movie Que or Soundwave or anything!!
Waaaaaaah!!

The FOC line is due th week(ish) and has already been seen for order on Asda direct.

Th wave 3 Prime Deluxes have been spotted at John Lewis and Sainsburys, failing that UK stock is plentiful on EBay (admittedly apart from the vehicon). Movie Que and Soundwave weren't released in Hasbros english speaking territories, so no luck there.

As for Blu Rays; the Darkness Rising DVD is coming to the UK, but I understand why you'd want HD.

I'm not the first to defend Hasbro UK, but things aren't quite as bleak as you'd think ;)

We still haven't got RATCHET wave yet. Once again, Hasbro's dropping the ball with toy distribution.

I collect combaticons, so I was always interested in picking up one version of these guys. Price dictated which. IMO Swindle, Onslaught and Brawl look pretty close to how the should, and the other two I can live with. Vortex is the only one that's kind of ugly.
