Below we have reviews of both Transformers Generations Spinger and Cliffjumper from Seibertron.com member TJ Duckett. As you're probably well aware of by now both are currently only available in the Asian market, but they will be domestically this Fall through Toys"R"Us. Springer is repaint/retool of HFTD Tomahawk and Cliffjumper is a retool of Transformers Prime First Edition Cliffjumper. Check out the images and videos below.

Both of these look nice but the heads just look too out of place :L I hope this doesnt mean we won't get a Classics Springer Mold at some point...

I'm terrified that this might be the case. Though this is the second cliffjumper so who knows. Hasbro said at Botcon that Springer was on their radar. I hope this wasn't it. I've been wanting a CHUG Springer for a long time, Third party stuff is great and (aside from the cost) all but I would love something like the Astrotrain or Octane in theme and style. And it still boggles the mind why they've never done a proper CHUG Arcee.

Screw Arcee, what about Blitzwing? Why did Hasbro prioritise Octane over him? Blitzwing was around earlier and featured in more episodes. Oh well. That Cliffjumper is horrible, but I think the Springer is the best Hasbro one so far. Still not as good as Warbot, which is also pretty flawed in some respects. Oh well >:oP

Because the Universe toyline was released at the same time as the Animated toyline, and there was already an Animated Blitzwing, so Octane got the nod instead.

Just because its named 'Springer' doesn't make it an automatic win-win. I love the character as much as anyone else does, but don't see a need for this figure. Its not a triple-changer. His feet are just too 'robotic' for me. Part of Spring-o's appeal was his bulky legs (warbot failed to capture them as well, but its a triple-changer so that can be forgiven.) these look more like Whirl (stormbringer).
If I didnt have Warbot I'd rather have the old universe Springer than this new one. Isnt he rather small?

I never dug the whole camaro mustang whatever it is version of CJ, so Ill just keep quiet on that one, since it wouldnt be an educated opinion. I simply have little to no interest in Prime at this point. (though I know it's widely accepted among the fandom, I see it as another show that will be forgotten when the next one comes out. Give me an Anime style cartoon series that's along the lines of say a War Within or IDW storyline. I'm still waitin for that glorious time.)

If Springer ever returns in IDW please dont give him the duck feet.... (no pun intended! :D )

Am i the only one here who isn't bothered by Springers double toed feet. They seem to give him good legs with no weight supporting trouble and they don't seem unsightly to me since they give the helicopter a streamlined look instead of having a awkward look if they had a different design.

The only thing that annoys me is his head. He seems to have the entire half of the back of his head in lightpipe plastic :-x .

If i buy Springer at any time...I will seriously consider getting hobby paint in the same lime green color(or close to it) that to cover that huge ammount of transblue to give him a more properly colored helmet/head. [-(

I don't mind the feet. I already have the original version of this mold and it never bothered me then either. I think it looks pretty cool and like you said, gives a pretty good helicopter mode.

I just noticed about the head...AND the fact that his head is clearly visible from the side in robot mode. lol, oh well, I don't care too much. I'm sure you could just turn it around to hide the face. The light piping thing is silly but doesn't bother me enough to care.

Umm...not to point out the obvious, but he IS a robot.

To each their own, though, I suppose. I like my G1 toys, and I like the updated/Classics versions of them, too. I am guessing that more people are NOT fans of the movie-style toys and characters, but to me, they look more realistic than the blocky style of most G1 toys. They look like they really could have been made out of mechanical parts of cars, helicopters, etc.

Can ANYONE answer this?? It's been bugging me, too. Also, what is CHUG supposed to mean? As in

I was a fan as a kid, and got back into fandom because of the live-action movies, but I still don't understand all the fanboy terms, like CHUG or GDO, etc.

CHUG is Classics, Henkei, Generations, Universe, which is the 'catchall' used to describe any contemporary figures which reference the G1/G2 originals. As for GDO, that is one of the mysteries up there with Lord Lucan's wherabouts, and Nickelback's enduring popularity.

Personally, I think cliff jumper looks really good in this mode. His head actually matches the aesthetics of the rest of his body. This "dodge challenger" look is my favorite so far. Springer 's robot form look too skinny, ESP the legs. His g1 head does not belong with this skinny tf. Nope, too skinny. This mode work with tomahawk.

Pass on both, i have a Classic Springer already, thx to Fansproject.

I have a Classic Cliffjumper already, thx to Takara (Alternity).

Plus i don't like this Springer at all that mold just never worked for me. Cliffjumper is meh, the design isn't right for Classic.

Regarding Springer, if they are set on retooling a previous mold how about the Generations Drift/Blurr mold? His head design already fits the body (it stands out on the GDO version). Give him a slightly retooled sword and slightly retooled guns (Blurr's have tabs to attach to the sniper rifle). Also, create a new spoiler different from the previous two versions. I'd love to have that as I already have the Cybertron Evac redeco which I like better than the GDO version. With Drift they made all swords, with Blurr all guns, so how about completing the set with Springer?

As a Springer enthusiast, I had to buy him. He should be in my hands by the end of the week. I'm still not interested in Cliffjumper at all.

That Springer looks pretty decent for a probable $15.- figure. But didn't Jin Satoame(forgive me if that's spelled wrong) do a custom just like that as soon as that original mold came out? I might get that Cliffjumper just to swap out the hands onto my Prime figure. :-?

yeah, for regular deluxe retail prices that Springer will do me just fine. Maybe a 3rd party will knock up some shoes for him, maybe not, but I just realised, that the robotic, piston-like feet might go a ways to explaining his name, as a visual cue to his jumping ability.

(yeah, don't try and figure out why a bot with a helicopter alt mode needs to jump...it worked in one story somewhere!)

I am actually more excited about the new Springer than my Warbot Defender. I really want to love that toy, but after his knees ground to dust I am just pissed about him as a whole. For over 100 bucks he shouldn't have done that. As for CJ...I don't really know. I wanted the Prime CJ to be as awesome as the hype, but after getting killed off so quickly I have been considering the WFC CJ. Without too many obscenities, what are your thoughts about the WFC CJ or this new GDO CJ?
