First off, I don't think that a car with arms on the side is a cool car.

Second, is his articulation 'pretty good' or 'awesome'? It looks just 'ok' for me, but very poor considering the size of the thing.

Third, this guy has a funny idea of 360°!

Finally, did you guys notice how much he wobbles from side to side after being touched?

This review does give a good view of the figure and makes me secure in my decision to pass.

Yeah he is really top heavy once in bot mode. And I knew he was gonna flop backwards when the guy was showing off articulation. Still like me most will pick him up on the fact that he's such a damn behemoth! I got G1 Metroplex and I know he's white but titan class is really white.

Now c'mon Takara let's see what you got. :VEHI:

Doesn't look too bad to me. I suspect he may be a bit wobbly/unstable due to being loose from changing hands several times--but yes, he's definitely a bit top heavy too. Looks like I'll just stick to the Hasbro version for now and save the cash for Masterpiece releases.

It's pretty much as I expected. A figure of this size being released in the economic climate that has been influencing figures for a year or so, there were bound to be sacrifices. Truth be told I expected it to be worse. It needs a couple of fixes, but nothing that I think breaks it as a figure. After all, it is the tallest ever Transformer.

I'd have appreciated a couple of comments on the quality of the plastic though.

The playability factor on this huge figure is not good. For a toy of this size I want a lot more and better everything. If this was a movieverse figure it would had everything we all want in a huge transformer.

Thank GOOD!!! He is a PASS.
My wallet was worried about this release, but after watch the video I feel relief.
If they had used the Fall of cybertron looking instead the G1 I would have just say: Shut up and take my money!!

I will go for the UFO dark of the moon Transformable trailer for Leader class Optimus Prime, instead. :APPLAUSE:

nice to see a review of this thing. "Biggest Transformer Ever" is pretty much enough to sell me on the otherwise averageness of it. But...am reconsidering my options as I'm not sure he's worth £160.

Thanks for the review. This thing was out of my budget, but the review convinced me I didn't want it anyway. Too unstable and way too pricey for what it is, especially here in Blighty. I can't believe the transformation's so easy too, Leader Class Jetfire he ain't. I can see my nephews having fun with this but they have their own parents to pay for toys!

Yeah, I think I'm gonna pass.

I mean he's big, but there's not too much he offers beyond that. I'm not interested in lights and sounds and beyond that, there's not too much play value, particularly in his city mode.

What's up with that ramp design? The original had a better city mode, to say nothing of what Fortress Maximus offered.

I have to say I agree with many of the comments here. I have the Takara one pre-ordered and I am thinking of dropping it now. I am expecting more from a 100 plus figure, and the Takara one is in the 200 range so I really want more. Just seems like a pass now. I think I would rather spend that money on some voyager class guys or MP's with better detail and functionality.

Thanks for sharing this video with us, mrtbone81. I personally can't wait for the figure. Photographing a very poseable big ass Metroplex is going to be fun plus it will give me an excuse to finally do galleries of G1 Metroplex, Encore Metroplex, G1 Metrotitan, G1 Trypticon, and BW2 Gigastorm.

Bummed I missed an early sale on Amazon.com. Hopefully I catch it the 2nd time around.

I will get one at retail, BUT I will also be looking forward to seeing a 3rd party group create some add ons to cover the hand in city mode and some Reprolabel stickers. The video confirmed what the pictures before had shown, which was that he isn't very complex. At least Fort Max had lots of hidden compartments and thingies. Heck, there's not even a launch button on this to launch Scamper like the original G1 version.

I, for one, am looking to display it in city mode, as I like to display my smaller figures with the cities. As such, I want Metroplex to look ace in city mode

I think "playability" is in the eyes of the beholder. After watching the video, I am of the opinion this thing will be super playable. I know I'll be posing him, and possibly displaying him in carrier mode. To make the movieverse comparison is unfair. There are plenty of big, crappy movie figures out there. You have to judge Generations Metroplex on his own merits.

Phew. Now that's more like it. :APPLAUSE:

Can't wait to find this guy at retail so I can give him a whirl!

Fixed. He's poseable compared to the original but by today's standards?

I roll my eyes when anyone refers to the "city" mode. That's not a city. It's one building with some ramps. Let's stop calling it a "city".

And I just can't get past the fact that the "building" mode is just the robot sitting down. You can plainly see arms, legs, torso and head.

And finally, I can't think of anywhere in my display area where this will fit. I don't have a shelf big enough for it in either mode.

As much as I wanted this when it was first revealed, I'm losing interest quickly.

I really like this version but I think in the end I will take the SDCC and the TakaraTomy version. >:oP

Holy pass indeed!!!

The city mode is a let down beyond words.

The other mode is "ok"

And the robot mode is just plain too big.

I'm G1 all the way with this one.

I'm glad to see so many passes, and hope Hasbro notices the comments regarding WHY...

But I dig him just because he's basically an up-sized G1 Metroplex. Calling him FOC Metroplex is misleading, IMO. And the G1 Metro didn't do that much to begin with.

I think the majority of you are spoiled on how good the deluxe and voyagers have been in the past few years, but believe it or not, it's pretty difficult to offer so much poseability in something SO MASSIVE. It's a blessing enough if the thing can stand upright without knocking everything off of your shelf (if you guys know of a more poseable figure at that size, feel free to let me know).

I do agree with some of the "pass" comments however: the city mode needs more oomph (like the mentioned launcher for Scamper), the hollowed plastic is lame, the hands should have really been hidden away, etc.

But hopefully enough of us buy this guy that they can green light the next titan, Trypticon. It'd be a no-brainer (and he appeared in War for Cybertron, the only titan to not get a recent toy). But if sales are disappointing, it may be another 10 years before we see Trypticon 2.0!

(This video review was pretty crappy, by the way. I appreciate the enthusiasm and rush to get it done, but don't do a video just for the page hits of being the first to do it! At least rehearse a little and plan what you want to say... the whole thing had a lot of babbling and run-on's. Short and to-the-point would be more appreciated!)

Many were wondering what to do with the 2 red posts that stick up from the helipad. I was playing with MP for a few hours and realized that you can detach the shoulder guns (most players never remove them) and peg the hilt to the posts. In aircraft carrier mode, it looks sweet and MP looks more buffed up with weapons. Try it!
