Wow, still no class 4s for me since the restart. I must've pulled 1000 cards out of the space bridge. Lame. I can't keep up with the sharpshots. They are too tough. I'm not sure what the point of energon refills as rewards when you can't play the event without battle cubes.

Well that goes without saying. Though it won't work on me. This event isn't something I'd pay for. Not with this style of game anyway. Without any real PvP with strategy involved and something to gain, winning this event is not very critical. Don't get me wrong. I like the idea of it and I appreciate the devs for implementing it.

I only bother with it at all because its a good way to get a lot of cards fast. Good for leveling, good for collecting. Which is why my inability to draw a single class 4 card over the last 3 days has really soured this event for me.

Yeah, I got a few good 3s that I can now work on leveling and scanning. But I can get most if not all of them in the regular game. Getting a few 4s was really the goal for me this event. With it coming to a close and getting increasingly harder to stay in it, it doesn't look like that'll happen. Pisses me of slightly.

Hopefully they do another event sometime soon. Rage of the Dinobots anyone? I'd do a few things differently in the first couple rounds to have more energon cubes saved up for the last round when they start to run dry.

I've put a healthy amount of effort in the game, but zero dollars. I managed to get in the 225 or so rank when sharpshot was first added. But as my cubes have dwindled down to nothing I've come to a screeching halt where even if I have a cube and engage a sharpshot, for some reason the game decided to ask for help from random people of random levels that do little to no damage. So I watch as my sharpshot times out and in the meantime I watch my rank go higher and higher.

It's been a fun event (when things worked) and I've gotten some decent stuff, it's just a shame to end the way I am after being so vigilant with using my Energon and cubes as often and wisely as possible.

Given that it's the first tournament it's safe to say we've all been critical of it.

Their first attempt failed miserably. But they brought it back, quickly sorted the bugs out and we all got into it. Lulled us into a false sense of security and look at what has happened in the last 24 hours. We had no idea Sharpshot was coming, none of us were prepared.

And you know what? I like it!

I can't wait to see what's in the pipeline for the next two days.

I still have my complaints about the game, but the tournament has been fun and we've helped them sort out a lot of bugs. To me, it's been a success.

I'm understanding of bugs and glitches as that happens in almost every game since the age of the internet. But, I still think their pay model is downright asinine considering the amount of stuff that can be lost by the games instability. Their pay model needs updating too as mentioned earlier in this thread as they are a little to proud of themselves asking as much as they do for energon/battle recharges and even cards. $30 for 10 cards in the special event bridge, yeah guys tone it down a notch.

I wouldn't mind a trade feature, although during non-event times it would make the game pretty pointless since your collections would be complete.

I thought about this same thing. At first I thought it would be great to have that option. But after this event and pondering it somemore I agree with diseptikon on this. Having the trade option would be a gamebreaker for everybody.

At the end of the day, collecting all of the cards IS the game. The campaign mode, player battles, ally points; they are all a means to an end. Which is to get more cards. Once you trade with your friends to fill your dex, there's little else to accomplish in the game. Sure you can play to level your cards but without a dex to complete, that'll get old fast.

From a dev standpoint, there would be no money to be made from the game. Once you get all of the cards from your allies, there absolutely zero reason to pay for anything in the game. I can understand why the option isn't included and I'm fine with it.

On a side note, this event has finally redeemed itself to me. With the event winding down and hope looking lost, I FINALLY pulled a class 4 card. I cashed in 6 gold medals and pulled an Elite Starscream bot mode. It may end up being the only one I pull after the 6 day restart is over but I'm now satisfied. I can end the event in peace now.

**On another side note. It appears the event is ending with a thud instead of a bang. It looks as though most people are out of battle cubes. My rank has not moved much at all in the last couple hours of my inactivity. I wonder if the devs have something in store for the last 24 hours to get people involved again.

I saved a few cubes for a last minute push, however the most frustrating thing is happening when I try to get a level 5 battle going. I kept gettin grouped with randoms who are level 6, 11, 7 etc. they do no damage and the boss escapes. Seems weird there is no level requirements and the rewards are given no matter the contribution.

I did the same. But I've switched gears and have opted not to spend them. Once the Sharpshots came out the event was essentially over to all except the elite. They are just way too strong. At first I was upset because, as people started running out of cubes, big bossess were left to escape and points and cubes were lost.

Then I looked at the overall rankings last night. The guy leading the event is a lvl 143 player who has a 3 MILLION point lead over second place. That was the point I realized, I'm wasting my time, energon, and cubes trying to make up any ground. I'll save my cubes for a head start on the next event which, as my cards get stronger, I'll be better prepared for and I'll probably end up with the same reward that I would have gotten if I tried to spend my cubes.

Also, I'm fine with reward system as it is. You get a couple free cards for particpating, thats not a big deal. But if the main bosses are going to be that strong, they need to make more players available to defeat them or raise the rewards or something. The event basically ended two days early because the Sharpshots wiped everybody out. I'm not even engaging my own Sharpshots anymore. If I can't beat it on my own and break even on the cubes spent, I pass.

So you are ok with players who have taken the time and made the effort to level their cards and deal decent damage to sharpshot, only to have a low level player with mostly rank 2 cards come in and do no damage at all, yet when the boss dies everyone gets the same points and the same participation medals?

The rewards need to be based off the amount of damage done IMO and raid bosses need to have a rank limit. Something tiered, maybe like low levels do 1 boss, mid levels do another, and higher levels get the hardest yet most rewarding boss for their efforts. Otherwise why rank your cards if only for pvp battles?

Sharpshots can be beaten, it just requires participation. And I think a lot of people have taken your approach Joey and just stepped away.

My strategy is to basically wait for my three cubes to be full, then go out looking. Keep looking until I find a couple of week bosses. Kickback and Hardshell are still out there and I can take them out with 1 cube and earn 2 back.

For Sharpshot ... level 3 and under, i'll normally waste 1 cube on them then call for help. The rewards are good, but the support isn't and that's where my cubes are being wasted.

I am ok with it and here's why: this isn't a true PvP game. I don't gain anything over you if I get more points than you in a boss battle that we both participated in and I don't lose anything if you were to get a better reward for doing more damage than me. Spreading the wealth seems fine to me. If this were a real PvP game and I was possibly going to face you down the road in battle of strategy, then I would agree. But it isn't.

Your rewards were set when you participated in the boss battle. You didn't lose anything because that lvl 2 guy got in on the battle. He didn't shrink the rewards pie, he made it bigger. And if he did any damage at all, then he helped me get my points. I don't see anything wrong with that. You are trying to add competition into a non-competitive game.

Nobody "wins" this event. The top prize goes to, what 100 people?

What could have been better is that the bosses could have been controlled better. As it was, whenever a new boss appeared, the previous boss(es) were almost completely shutoff. When Hardshell appeared, Kickback practically disappeared entirely. When Sharpshot appeared, I didn't encounter a Kickback at all and Hardshells were rare.

The bosses should have been scaled to your level. If you were level 2, then Kickback should have been the common boss with Hardshell and Sharpshot being uncommon and rare as applicable. Then, when you requested help, you should be grouped with people closer to your level. That way bosses don't just sit out there for 45 minutes and then get away.

Yeah, I'm fine with the awards system as is. As far as the event is concerned, the award system was the least of the problems with it.

Burn wrote:Sharpshots can be beaten, it just requires participation. And I think a lot of people have taken your approach Joey and just stepped away.

Agreed, which is why I stepped away. With one battle cube, I don't do much damage to any lvl Sharpshot. Which means that I have to depend on a lot of help to get my points and medals. It was fine on the first day. But by the second day, battle cubes were running dry for most, and the support disappeared fast. It wasn't worth my cubes to even try at that point.

Then please explain to me why anyone should bother leveling their cards? Whats the point? The game call the bosses "Raid" bosses. The only games I know that have raid bosses require some sort of level or gear check to be able to participate. I can put the game down for now, when the next event starts up I can have the same low level cards, join in the event and earn the same rewards as any high level guy. It makes no sense.

But I did lose something, I lost the ability to kill the boss many many times. When you request help to fight a boss you have a limited list of people who can aid you in battle. The game notifies you of which random people have been selected. I have been in battles with 6 people total and all five others total combined damage was a fraction of mine, and I used only one battle cube.

You are stating the same thing I said. Lower levels don't belong with high level players, they belong in their own tier and after leveling appropriately they should be able to move up to the next tiered boss. This is why in the current state of the game giving the low level players the same rewards takes away any motivation for them to progress, and ultimately brings down higher level players combat capability.

joesaysso wrote:Yeah, I'm fine with the awards system as is. As far as the event is concerned, the award system was the least of the problems with it.

Sure there were glitches galore, but nothing motivates someone to put in effort more than loot. If you can do absolutely minimal work and receive the same rewards as the higher leveled guys who have put effort, well then you might be a communist.

Edit: I should clarify...Im fine with the final awards of the game and how its sent out to people who fall in certain ranks. The rewards for combat is my beef, and I feel the way it has been established has certainly cause me to fall lower in the award ranks than I really feel I should have been. At the end of the day we are talking about electronic cards of our favorite topic, but when I get invested into something.....I get invested.

Yes, I am saying the same thing because I agree with that part of it, just not from a rewards perspective. I'm approaching it from the gameplay perspective. The way they executed it, the event was essentially crippled after one full day of Sharpshot. Since Sharpshot was too tough for the majority of players and since Sharpshot was the boss you encountered 90% of the time, more cubes were spent by everybody to earn the points and the medals. Cubes ran dry faster than the devs expected, I'm assuming, and the event slowed to a crawl. What fun is an event that can't be played?

If the bosses scaled the way we both agree they should have been, we all would be winners. Since there would have been more available cubes for people to play with longer, we all would have had more loot. Sharpshot should have been the final 24 hour boss. End the event with some excitement. As it was, there were too many Sharpshots too soon and the last two days of the 6 day event were boring.

I'm with you. Honestly, I'm not disagreeing with you on this issue either. I just think that based on the kind of game it is and how it is played, the awards system is minor and not really worth changing. I said I was fine with it the way it is. I don't think it takes away from the game the way it is now. But I don't really care one way or the other. I'd probably be fine with it your way too.

Man what a disappointment. Went from 100 to 500 when Sharpshot came out. Then fought back to 442 with the spotty cell service with one hour to go thought I would have been fine for the 442 and get nudged to 508.

Were you saving them or something? Why didn't you cash them in?

I played my event perfectly. I stopped fighting bosses a day and a half ago when my rank was in the 620's, when all of the support died off and it was apparent that I wasn't going to be able to improve into the sub 500's. I finished with a rank of in the 940's and ended up getting the same reward that a was in line for a day and a half ago when I stopped. Thusly saving all of my battle cubes for the next event. I'm satisfied.

Well it seems the majority of you guys all ranked pretty well. Well done.

Before the event went down a few weeks backs I had managed to get myself ranked in the 290's which I was pretty pleased about but only went back to it a few days ago and was ranked well into the 7000's. I pulled it back to place 4723 so I picked up a kickback this morning. And I also managed to get a 3x trans scanned Hound out of it too so it wasnt all bad.

I ruined my chances when I used up all of my extra battle cubes for battles during the hiatus the event took.

Came in in the 900's.

Congratulations to those in the top 10. You probably paid Mobage's wages for the week.

Well, at least somebody did cause I sure didn't.

It also appears that they made right on the rewards that were handed out to some when the event was first shutdown. I guess some got rewards and some didn't. Well at the point of shutdown, I was awarded both forms of Kickback.

At the official end of the event, I qualified for both modes of Kickback X2 and his weapon. What I got was one new set of Kickbacks and the weapon. I did not get a second new set and I'm assuming the first set I got counted towards my final reward. It appears nobody was over-compensated unless somebody out there can refute this.
