S3 was just crap. Its sales are going to lag way behind TFs IMHO. TFs was unique in movie form after 20 years or nothig being made for the big screen unlike all these endless sequels.

Longs for the days of G1 where we only had to worry about Megatron, Soundwave and Laserbeak wanting to be Autobots, Swoop calling himself Tracks and Slingshot calling himself Slingslot!

Considering the skuttlebutt about Spiderman 3 when it was released in theaters, it shouldn't be surprising Transformers is apparently kicking Spidey's spandex-clad butt. Well see if it can hold out until Disney releases "At Worlds End" in about a month.

At World's End and Spidey were both big disappointments to a lot of people. Their Dvd sales will suffer.

It's not just in the USA that the DVD is selling gangbusters!

It's selling damn well here in Australia too, and we have not had anywhere near as many "giveaways" and promotions as you guys in the States did.

This thing is going to be huge everywhere, it's just one of those "most own" action films.

That and I think alot of people will be expecting great extras and everything. They'll be disappointed.

I agree...TF seems to be appealing, not only to adults but kids especially. Here's a story to relate how big it is:
i was at the symphony with my wife Friday night. While waiting at the bar during intermission, there was a four year old and his mom standing behind me. I asked him if he was enjoying the music and he nodded. His mom told me that when the orchestra started the last song, he sat up and said "PG-13!" (They symphony had played a suite from "Close Encounters of the 3rd Kind"). I asked him, "You knew the song?" He said, "I thought it was 'Transformers'." (at which point we chatted further about the movie. Smart kid. Point is, the kids ATE THIS MOVIE UP! I'm not surprised it's doing so well...the kids are pushing the parents to get it. And yes, Spidey 3 was a HUGE disappointment.
Scalpel...blood bucket...priest...next patient!

Yes I am a Cubs fan. You may pity me now.

So I'm guessing by your statement it's a better investment to skip the "Special Edition" and just get the movie on it's own?
