Shia Laboeuf was interviewed by the people over at IESB. They sat down and talked about various things like Surf's Up, his rumored role in the new Indiana Jones and more.

More importantly, he says that the new Transformers Movie has been rated by the MPAA! Micheal Bay send a cut of the movie and Shia revealed the rating. According to Shia the new Movie first was rated "R" because of intense action and violence. But thanks to Steven Spielberg, the MPAA reconsidered and changed the rating to PG-13.

Originally, Rated "R". I'm impressed. There might be new hope for this movie after all.

I wonder what that will translate to in the UK, either a 12 or a 15 I suppose. I guess it will go with 12 so more kiddies can see it.

personally, i'd like a more reliable source than shia on this, as the guy sort of has a history of talking out of his ass in interviews. "razor," anyone? i've read the leaked script, and nothing in there seemed anywhere near graphic enough to warrant a violence-based "r" rating. i'm calling bull on this until i hear it from someone more trustworthy.

not like it really matters what the rating is anyway. i've seen plenty of awesome pg-13 action movies and just as many terrible r-rated ones.

and j-man, id4 was pg-13, so it makes no sense to list it as an example of why this movie should shoot for r.

Correct, that's why we listed it as a rumor for now.

And AVP had to be cut drastically to be pg 13, atleast the new sequel will be better. I hope that this movie gives me the crazy fighting I need. lol.

I hope no cuts are needed to achieve a 12A rating in the UK. It is really annoying when films, like Spiderman 2 and SW episode 2, are cut to achive a PG rating. I'd rather have a 15 rating.

I'd rather see it be a PG-13 movie since I don't watch any movies that are rated "R".

This could very well be true. Look at the desert scene with Scorponok's spiked tail behind the soldier..

I wonder how much blood will be in it now.. :-?

rated "R" than changed to pg-13 what was that movie gonna have. to get "R" you need either nudity or some really sick gory stuff nowadays. i don't think we are gonna see robot make outs but maybe starscream rips of the head off of a human

What the hell? Transformers is a family license. There's no way in hell Bay would be permitted by Hasbro to shoot a film with an R rating.

Considering that it's a franchise primarily for children, if children were prohibited from attending the film, it would be quite regrettable.

This seems to be fake, at any rate- Hasbro has quite an aversion to realistic depictions of violence in their franchises, as evidenced when they purchased Magic: The Gathering.

R rating doesn't mean it'll be better. just means someone dropped the F bomb a lott added to the robot violence
