To help Tranfans out, don't get a single Movie based game. Movie based games are horrible, and there is still yet to be a good movie related game to any movie. Sure little kids buy them or rent them, but's that's usually based upon a 3D Animation movie, plus youngsters will get anything tied into Cars, Happy Feet, Barnyard, or whatever movie it is. Of course to quote EGM magazine:

"Another movie based upon an 80's cartoon. Haven't we learned anything yet with Garfield?"

I read that issue, too. That's ALL they said, and it barely makes sense. Plus, they said that the game would be better than the movie. You're contradicting yourself by siding with them. Plus, Garfield was a comedy for kids, and Transformers is action and more intense and adult. How could Garfield and the TF movie be similar except for the CGI? I don't trust them.

Plus, we all know the problems with movie games. You really don't need to warn us. We have our own opinions.

Hmmm...movie games suck? Often? yes, always? No. Goldeneye was awesome. Yeah, it's ancient now but a lot of people still hold it in high esteem, me included. The Armada game is another example of how a game licensed game can rise above expectations. Crapish cartoon, great game.

I'll hold out for this and make my own mind up rather than listen to magazines or people that seem too eager to bash anything related to this movie.

Same here. I was relieved when I saw that. I was worried I would have to buy a new game system just to play the game.

Me too. I was saving up for a Wii, but I ended up spending most of my money on Classics, 10th Anniversary Primal and Megs, and Cyb. Metroplex

not true (for the most part it is true, but there are a few that don't suck)

Lotr: Two Towers (and most of the others were pretty decent)
King Kong (not great but it is definetly playable)
Chronicles of Riddick: escape from butcher bay (you either liked it or didn't, but it was pretty good)

You haven't played Spider-Man 2, have you? That game was pure win. Don't believe the generalizations that magazines give you. Not all movie games are bad.

Don't forget that his quote is what they said about the movie, not the game. They said that the game would be good, or at least better than the movie.

None whatsoever. All that's coming out on it now is the leftovers, AKA mostly lame or unpopular games. A few good ones, though.

There's some very vague information here:
http://ps3.ign.com/articles/763/763237p1.html

They note that you can at least play Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Ironhide, Starscream and Megatron. There are melee and range attacks and your character's size effects how you attack.
