The Transformers Prime "Beast Hunters" Cyberverse Vehicles Wave 1 have been sighted at retail. Well technically only the Sky Claw with Smokescreen was sighted, but this wave also features the Apex Hunter Armor with Breakdown. The set was purchased at a Humble, TX Wal-Mart by Zatara1701, who was kind enough to provide us with some in-hand images of the Sky Claw with Smokescreen along with a quick review.

Zatara1701 wrote:Just a few things to review the Sky Claw. First of all, out of the box there are two noteable things 1) Smokescreen is obviously mistransformed in the box as per my pictures 2) This thing is REALLY cool!! I bought the Jackhammer just because it was Wheeljack's and it's in the show... But this little vehicle is way cooler in design and execution to me. It's bigger than the Jackhammer (included comparison pic of the two), Sky Claw lacks the unimpressive LED function of the Jackhammer, but it makes up in style and function. I took a pic of the back of the box so everyone can see what it can do, so I am not going to waste time listing all of them. I tried to take pics of the different configurations.

Side bar...Smokescreen- he is pretty cool. He comes with a gun/sword weapon (NOTE: that is taped inside the bottom of the box under the Sky Claw, so keep your eyes peeled for it). Standard Legion size set up...don't expect too much articulation, but he is still cool for what he is. Smokescreen OBVIOUSLY has an alternate paint job that's blue and yellow (someone else feel free to make reference to what it may be an homage too, it's 11PM and I have no idea), and he has #7 on his doors. Despite the alternate paint job and lack of articulation, he is a cool little figure and worthy of joining my Cyberverse shelf :-)

I hope this helps anyone in doubt about purchasing this vehicle when you see it. I just got it cuz it looked cool and my toy instincts didnt fail me.

Blue and Yellow? #7 on the doors? Sounds like a dim homage to Alternators Smokescreen ;)

I love it. Here´s a video review by YouTube user SGRoadbuster:

I didn´t notice this was based on Dreadwing´s ship, I hope Hasbro eliminate the claw gimmick if they ever repaint it. To be honest, the toy reminded me of the fighters used by the Autobots in Armada against Unicron, but having any kind of fighter is fine by me.

That's just the razors lol... :HEADHURTS:

Front Paged!!! Whoo-hoo... As far as the Sky Claw, the blue and yellow, it kinda reminded me of the Beast Hunters Soundwave color scheme.

I just checked out some pics of Dreadwing's ship... It does look a lot like it, but who is to say Autobots can't "borrow" some tech from the Cons ;) Happens in war all the time. Sometimes they just get repurposed, especially when faced with a threat that far excedes your current ability to defend against.

On a personal note..I think the "Apex" armor should've come with a Starscream...Kinda bummed they would include a character they've killed TWICE.

since commander's dreadwing wings can be angled down i think it could fit in the cockpit
but im not sure
and yeah more than a simple coincidence it IS based on dreadwing's ship

Wow its $20 i was expecting it to be around $30, maybe hasbro finally realized they'd sell more if the prices were responsible. Now we just need TRU to realize it to and we'll be one step closer to have a good TF franchise again.

Too bad they couldn't make the Sky Claw's two modes more different. I think it would have been a lot cooler if, instead of switching to a "battle mode", it transformed into a boat or a submarine, which could be done just as easily with just a few moving parts.

I remember reading somewhere on another TF forum board that the government took possession of Dreadwing's ship, which (as we've been discussing) is what the Sky Claw highly resembles. So, if the Sky Claw were to be in the show, we could reason that the Autobots will use it as their base/ship similarly to how the Decepticons use(d) the Nemesis. Surely the Jackhammer wouldn't be able to fit more than two or three 'bots and there are seven (eight with Ultra Magnus) Autobots on Team Prime. Then, we don't know about the space within the interior of Dreadwing's ship. :-?
