It's also possible that they made the packaging smaller to make the figures LOOK bigger and/or to save on distribution costs (by fitting more in the same size case).

That could indeed be a possibility if Hasbro didn't already tell us that all the simplified figures (Deluxe as well) are indeed bigger than normal.

Gotta admit, that Predaking looks pretty cool, maybe when it drops to 15 I might pick it up as a novelty.

It appears Prime's stomach spikes have been retooled to better hide his robot junk in vehicle mode. It also seems that they have improved the ascetic of the wheels, painted his hands, and increased the feet size. They have fixed my main gripes with the mold. :D The green is growing on me, but why a mouthed face? :-?

Predaking seems to have a dragon head and neck sticking out of his ass. I pray to primus he is mistransformered. :BANG_HEAD:

You know what would be cool? That optimus in orange, blue and grey as an homage to Beast Wars Optimal Optimus... and maybe Predaking in red as Transmetal II Megatron.

Nice! I wasn´t sure if Predaking would look cool as Megatron, but that custome looks awesome! I guess Optimal Optimus would look great as well.

Did somebody think the first voyagers were too difficult? All the BH figures are painfully simplified as it is. To make it any simpler you'd have to go back to the Beast Wars basic flip changers.

For young children I can definitely see how they could be if only because of the number of steps involved and the amount of more complex transformation bits and small panels and pieces that have to be moved around (I can't see a kid figuring out how to transform the original voyager Predaking at all, especially with the way its tail and legs convert between modes, being asymmetrical and all). Optimus wasn't so bad, but the Cyberverse figure is definitely simpler since there's no need to rotate bits around his waste 360 and such.

I recently purchased my five year old cousin Beast Hunters Optimus Prime as an upgrade from the more simple Rescue Bots and other transformable toys from Vtech. He found it very difficult to convert it and I found myself often having to do it for him. There is a rather large gap between rescue bots and more contemporary figures. Smaller children also like large toys. I think that these molds will be a good transition between the two. I anticipate unique molds in the future an May pick them up out of interest. ;)
