I think my biggest problem is the shift MIDWAY through a toy line.. and tv show. (ie. Tranformers Prime) Comparing the first edition toys with these, there's a big design change. It looks like a different toy line. I think that's a shame. I wish Hasbro could hold the course to the end of a show or toy line.

And yeah, I agree the fan base is reluctant to change. (ironic, right?) But I was actually excited and welcoming to see a good number of new lines... Animated didn't bother me, because it was stylized. Classics/Generations was great. Prime launching was fantastic. Machine Wars, Armada, Energon, and Cybertron all had some really great bots... and had me excited as well. Even the side lines of Titanium, PowerCore, FOC, WFC all got positive response from me.

On the flip side — it's funny the movie stuff bothered me, in spite of being very detailed — because it deviated from G1 so much. AND this line bothers me because it jumped the track from fairly realistic to child-like midway. If it were a new show, instead of a continuation, I think I'd have LOTS less problems with it.

All that said, I suppose we should ALL watch the show... see what they do with the aesthetics and characters, then see if we want to buy the matching toys. Eh?

I'm probably one of the few that enjoys a shift in the feel of a toyline or show. Image

I'm going to buy any in-show character's toy regardless. Image

Well, I agree SOME kinda shift is good... like adding new characters or beasts or a new location or a power up or a color change.

And yeah, agreed. I'll be picking up Prime and Bee regardless. But the show will certainly have some bearing on if I get more. Looking forward to the next season!

What about the shift from organic-looking beasts to Transmetals and Fuzors, and from those to Transmetal 2's, in Beast Wars? This is highly evocative of that very kind of shift. You could even call these "Transmetal 2 vehicles" (only with a lack of chrome).

Another example would be the shift from realistic to sci-fi styled vehicles and back and forth again in G1.

It IS a different toyline. Transformers: Prime Beast Hunters will be the third (fourth if you include the Dark Energon line) toyline under the Prime franchise banner. TF: Prime is a rare case in that it's had more than one consecutive toyline running under its label.

Mad Max had a child-like look? :P

okay, maybe I should say a change from realistic (in the original TFPrime) to, well, not very realistic. If I saw the new prime driving down the street, I'd say it looked like a toy. The first one, though, had a lot of detail... down to the rivets, pistons, corrugated panels, vents...

But yeah, I get what you are all saying about a new look.

I think the real test is the girlfriend test. My GF is gonna roll her eyes if I try to buy any toys from this line... same look she does when I try to watch Rescue Bots.

Doesn't really matter to me, one way or the other. Even if I'm done with the TF Prime line, I'll still be enjoying the show. Fortunately, Generations is still decent enough for adult collectors and MP's going strong.

In any case, that BH voyager OP could turn out to be a nice "adult-worthy" figure, in the hands of a good customizer.

This is even worse than I thought this figures weapon shoots discs lol that's way worse than mech tech. The prime line is totally kiddy now so sad

As far as accessories go, nothing is worse than MechTechs [that don't lock].

I disagree big goofy looking weapons that shoot stupid projectiles are IMO. That's the type of weapons that come with crappy 4" Spider-Man figures or gi joe movie figures. But everyone likes what they like and I like my figures a little more serious than kiddy.

Okay. That's your opinion, but almost every Transformers line has included these "kiddy" firing projectiles up until DOTM, so this is nothing new. Many of us, myself included, have longed the return of firing projectiles. Beast Hunters is bringing me what I want with that.

I have to agree. I'd much rather have firing projectiles than...the mechtech stuff. I mean, the mechtech idea COULD have been done really well, but it wasn't. I feel it wouldn't get better if it had continued, so better to just get rid of it. Also, projectiles are far more amusing than they should be...

I don't want either but I think big flying disc are worse than mech tech. At least some mech tech weapons looked like normal weapons and that's all I want. A cool looking gun or sword no giant goofy rocket launcher where the missile sticks half way out the barrel. Also I'm not totally against projectiles like the one that comes on generations warpath shoulder that's a good sized one but over sized goofy weapons I just don't like. I just like my figure to have a little more realistic look I guess and I guess that's why I enjoy more 3rd party figures more than hasbro these days. And most of the lines I collected didn't come with goofy projectiles and I collected a few lines.

It's not a disc. It's a capturing ring, as in a hunting tool.

Because it was a live-action movie toyline. >:oP

im surprised no one else has seen this or stated it yet. we have already seen this version of optimus prime, in the cartoon. from the Orion Pax episode trilogy. when optimus finds a fake image of Optimus Prime. theres some minor diffrences in the chest, and of course the image had 2 hands, but everything else is the same.
