Firstly, we're not getting a Predacon force that combine into Predaking.
Secondly, I think he may be annoyed that we'll be getting more beastformers with stand-up-and-reaarrange-the-limbs transformations like Beast Wars. I, too, don't like this idea.
Thirdly, the carformers they've shown so far are retools of what we already have.

If this line produces anything other than a leader Predaking that I really want I'll be surprised.

Oh, boo hoo. If that's the case, then that's flat out Geewhining. >:oP

Never heard of a person standing up by splitting their back in half and converting it into a pair of legs before.

Cyberverse Commander Optimus Prime and Legion Smokescreen say otherwise

We're getting a Weaponizers Ultra Magnus.

But if you meant other Predacons, there's Lazerback and Twinstrike coming too. and Hasbro did say that there will be other Preds in the toyline that may or may not appear in the show. ;)

It's that, a shellformer or having animal legs hanging off the robot legs. Or any combination of those. Not to say that you can't pull off an elegant and interesting transformation for beast modes but, well, there's less to work with and there's a limit to how finicky the engineering is allowed to be. I mean, a figure with a car mode essentially just has to fold into a brick somehow. A cat is a lot less forgiving.

I've just noticed that he lacks a wrist swivel. I don't like those hands being stuck at that angle.

You really can't tell from the picture if he has one or not. And it looks to me like the hands are at different angles. It's inconclusive either way.

Hmmm maybe you're right. That sword does seem to point at a different angle, but it could be how it's placed in the hand. Come to think of it, it would be really crappy if he has to hold the sword out at the side, but then one of the movie deluxes didn't have elbows so anything's possible.

So far - not impressed with ANY of the beast hunter line from what I observe. I've been following the Tformer toys since they first came out, and I'm getting the same vibe from this current crop that I got in the late 80s, when the Tformer toys went into a kind of dearth.

The toys coming out now are cheaper, flimsier, less intricate, and smaller. The only thing they are 'more' of is more garishly colored. As if painting the figures neon orange or lime green will disguise the poor quality.

If this is the trend, then I think it will soon be time for me to put collecting on the backburner, as I did during that whole "generation 2" mess. I'll resume again when the designers have come back to their senses and start making quality lines that have more to them than just a splotch of day-glo paint.

Seriously - that Voyager Predaking looks like garbage. It harks back to 'Gnaw' and the 'Mosterbots', which were also garbage. Hasbro had better learn that making junky toys will only mean they get left on the shelf. The 'Amazing Spider Man' merchandise are nearly ALL shelf-warmers. The store shelves are stuffed with them, every place I see. No one's buying, because they all stink.

Bah humbug. This figure really does look nice.

He's got an innovative leg transformation that has the robot legs form the entire beast back, rather than a mere "stand-me-up" transformation.

His proportions are reasonable enough to allow for a fairly wide range of articulation.

He's got zero kibble sans the wings.

He's got a more convincing tail weapon than Cybertron Scourge's cartoonishly large axe.

He's got BW Dinobot hands!

He's got missile projectile launchers; a gimmick we haven't seen in a while.

He's got a creative playability with his weapons (twin dragon heads for beast mode, dual-launcher gun for robot mode).

He's got a nice balanced color scheme with a definite fire motif.

He's got no transparent plastic and no lousy MechTech-esque weapon.

He's got a neat torso design that works for both the chest of a draconian beast and beast-like robot.

He's got a fearsome head design that evokes his sense of authority and power of the other Predacons.

And, he has an overall mighty and imposing appearance.

Kudos to the Hasbro team for a job well done. ;)^

I looked at this a little more, and it looks like his legs are both the back and the belly. My idea is reinforced with the same pattern on the back as well as the belly, and the feet are sticking out on both the top & bottom.

So, the robot legs form the entire torso.Image
